Mencot Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 And some like the Zombie Pirate are kind of nonsense since we already can make that minifigure by switching the heads of the S8 Pirate Captain and the S1 Zombie. Okay (not ok-ey) that is maybe true but the torn and dirty zombie clothes wouldn´t be the same if you do that. And then he would be missing the eye-patch. I would like to see and dirtybeard on the zombie captain. I don´t know if i care so much for the rest of the figs (have to wait until some official are released) but I am looking forwards to the zombie figs, hopefuly all those leaked figs will be part of the set. Robert8 Posted April 20, 2015 Author Posted April 20, 2015 (edited) Just a little piece of new info about Series 14. The official name is: 71010 LEGO® Minifigures Series 14: Monsters As it appears here: https://www.voltmast...4-Monster-71010, here: http://www.panabook....oducts_id=19481 and here: http://shop.kiddiwin...roduct_id=71010 So, it's a broader concept than just Halloween. I sense we'll get the list very soon, like last year when we got Series 12 list in May Edited April 20, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
BrickJagger Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 That's what I expected it to be called. I find it very odd that we've only seen 11 of the 16, though. Maybe some non-Halloween monsters? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Possibly, but the release is geared towards Halloween. Quote
skelliesgang Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 hmm, just curious why Lego has yet to utilize the long Woody/Jessie legs in any of the CMF series. They keep on introducing new molds but seem to ignore the long legs. Were they really unpopular? Quote

They keep on introducing new molds but seem to ignore the long legs. Were they really unpopular? I have wondered this for a while now, too. Though they do not seem excessively versatile, I think it's strange that we haven't seen them on, like, a Basketball Player (like that one form the fake CMF Series a couple of years ago) or a Circus Stilt-walker, or aTreant (Groot would have been more to scale as a minifig with them), or something. There are parts from other Disney-based lines that seemingly can't be used outside of the license. Quote
Blakstone Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 That looks like the background art for the polybags. However, it has images that don't match the series including a castle and off brand ghost busters. Very weird. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 That looks like the background art for the polybags. However, it has images that don't match the series including a castle and off brand ghost busters. Very weird. That and the word "Monster" are not original. The art is concept art that inspired the Monster Fighters theme, and the word "Monster" is ripped directly from the MF logo. It's not official branding, it's just a placeholder. So we can't safely say it's called a "Monster" series, as it does seem more Halloween-themed. Quote
parsom Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Am I wrong that this series will be released in August? So we should get WhiteFang review in June? And more leaks probably come soon... Quote
Lego_Hero Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I wish we could see the remaining minifigs. I'm only loooking at picking up half of the other so far. Quote
Robert8 Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) I wish we could see the remaining minifigs. I'm only loooking at picking up half of the other so far. Following the trend of Series 8, Series 11 and Series 12, we'll see them during SDCC week Edited April 22, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
MAB Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It wouldn't surprise me if they use the name Monsters instead of Halloween, or just Series 14. If it is called Halloween, then that puts a sell-by date on it after which stores will need to discount them to get rid of them as they are a Halloween product. Call it Monsters, and there is no problem. Quote
alohamitsu Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I am so glad that this is the next non-licensed theme for CMF! I love anything to do with Halloween! I just finished CMF #13 and cant wait for The Simpsons one! :D Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I don't think "Monsters" is accurate, but "Halloween" is limiting. My guess is that it'll be the "Spooky" series. No sell-by date, but it still allows for costumed characters. Quote
parsom Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I wonder if they will do another theme-specific series. Quote
telaruhn Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I wonder if they will do another theme-specific series. I've been wondering the exact same thing. There's no way this Series will be a one-off for themed series, especially considering it continues the numbering for the non-licensed, multi-themed CMFs. At the very least it makes me wonder what S15 and on will be (themed or non-themed), even though that's still quite a ways off. A little off-topic, but they definitely WILL make a CMF series for The LEGO Movie 2. I can't imagine them not doing it. Excited to see a full list for S14, official names and all. It'll be a preliminary marker as to whether or not I get the series. Quote
parsom Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 ^ Warriors... Or even better - ancient warriors. Series of my dreams. Quote
SirBlake Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 ^ Warriors... Or even better - ancient warriors. Series of my dreams. Yeah, that'd be perfect for me too. Probably, regardless of culture or era, that would be the series I'd buy the most from so far. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 These are been released in Halloween, so it's an halloween theme. Seasonal, one could say. Quote
alohamitsu Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 I have been collecting CMF since The Simpsons Series #1 so now I kind of have a problem where I must get all the series (as long as I like the licensed ones) Quote
SFmuscle73 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I don't understand how the cat like women quantifies as a "monster" if the series is to be called "Monster Series" or something to that effect. In fact, I always thought she would make an excellent Cheetah for Wonder Women fans. Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I don't think "Monsters" has been officially confirmed as the title for the series. We don't even know what the remaining five figures are. My bet is on "Spooky Series". Quote
SMC Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Its odd how long we have had some pictures but still nothing more, would like to see the rest. Not sure I will get many but I like a cheap wave so that's ok with me. Quote
telaruhn Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 (edited) Tiger Girl is definitely a "Monster" if you consider her to be a half-human, half-tiger. If you consider her to be a costumed character (which she seems more likely to me), then I'm not so sure. Regardless, the theme of "Monsters" is a term I find to be used rather loosely, just based on what we've seen so far. It's just a term they're using in place of putting "Halloween" anywhere in the product name, since that's what this series seems to be based off of and, given its estimated release date, will likely be marketed as. And as mentioned, the official name still hasn't been revealed. However, I'm not too keen on it being named "Spooky Series," since the figures revealed aren't really all that spooky. Most of them seem to have a friendly demeanor, actually. None of them are spooky to the caliber of the aptly named S12 Spooky Girl. I'm still hoping for a Ghost minifigure that uses the Genie tail piece. It would certainly be a great application of that element, since I doubt they'll be making another Genie anytime soon... I was looking at the figures on Brickipedia, and some of the pages of the revealed figures say they have two-toned legs? I thought that wasn't feasible. We don't get to see any of their backs, so this information seems misleading until it's actually proven as such. The Simpsons Series 2 didn't have any two-toned legs, so I seriously doubt this series will, either. Edited May 18, 2015 by telaruhn Quote
