Robert8 Posted June 27, 2015 Author Posted June 27, 2015 I forgot there is a Spirit/Specter/Phatom in the Alexandre Boudon designs.... and it seems to be a female Quote
parsom Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Maybe zombie pirate will come with beard and cape...? Like in this sketch. Quote
telaruhn Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 Maybe the (female) Spirit/Specter/Phantom will have the dress slope for legs a reversible head with two faces? I'm hoping the Zombie Pirate Captain has a pair of epaulettes. And based on the leaked figure, he'll likely have a plume for his hat and a sabre, though it looks as if there will be no hook hand. A beard might be cool... but I haven't seen many zombies with them. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I'm actually a bit disappointed that they are planning a complete release of minifigures, all based on the Halloween/Monsters theme. Obviously I'm in the minority, and LEGO does not make products for the minority, hence they are doing this. And after 29 pages of posts, nearly all positive about this release. I understand why they are doing this. But for me I'd prefer a mixture of figures covering all themes as before, I think it's more suitable to a wider audience. But also I get the timing makes sense with Halloween in October, and I realise how big this time of the year is in America. So it's a no brainer from a business point of view. For me, hopefully series 15 will be mixed again Paul Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I forgot there is a Spirit/Specter/Phatom in the Alexandre Boudon designs.... and it seems to be a female If it is female, it won't look so Elizabethan/Georgian, since it's probably going to be using that translucent poofy hair. I do hope it doesn't use the face seen in the first image on the Skeleton. But if it's not hers, it's the Reaper's, which is worse. Quote

I don't mind the occasional themed set, but for me it's becoming too common. We're going directly from a Simpsons theme into a Halloween theme. So between this year and last year we had two Simpsons themes, a Halloween theme and a Movie theme. That's fully two thirds of the sets. Oh well. At least the mermaid from the Movie theme and the zombie pirate from the Halloween theme kind of fit in with my Pirate collection anyway. Quote
Tariq j Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 But I suppose in a sense with the Simpsons theme (both series), almost all of the torsos and accessories could be used in other themes, mainly city, but it was still multifunctional in the sense that it could be used in various themes. The Lego Movie sort of follows that same format as well, there were lots of elements in there that could potentially be used in other themes. Quote

It seems it's just 1 regular CMF series per year now. Which surprises, because I thought Series 13 was a hit Edited June 30, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I don't think (or hope) that the Simpsons theme will go beyond 3 CMF series. As for movies, we've got Batman, Ninjago and TLM 2, so we're gonna be stuck with themed series for a while now. Quote

telaruhn Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 D I S N E Y M A Y 2 0 1 6 Is this a joke? Now I'm picturing Mickey and Donald head molds on the minifigure bodies, which would be no less creepy than the Simpsons ones... As long as we get a diverse series each year, I guess I won't complain about it too much. Having themed series like the Simpsons every year is now the norm, but it's something I'm still getting used to since I'm not a fan of them. And I'm also not a fan of Disney, so such a rumor only means I will most likely be saving my money for the third consecutive May. Quote
Faefrost Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 If they are doing Disney as CMF's I wonder what the chances of a Marvel offering? Quote
gedren_y Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 D I S N E Y M A Y 2 0 1 6 OMG!! If true, consider the possibility of a CMD series, to be compatible with Disney Princesses. If they are thinking of doing Clara, Goofy and Mortimer, those proportions would be accurate. Back on topic; I anticipate plenty of usable parts for my current build focus. The only two CMF figs I have kept as is for use are Spooky Girl and Egyptian Queen, and my purchasing has been selective for what I can use from the beginning. This series might actually have me buying most of them, posibly intentionally getting multiples (I don't go in for army building.) Quote

Robert8 Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Damn it We can't discuss that here and we can't create a thread for that becuase there is no official source and, for now, it's just a rumor Quote
SMC Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 To be honest I think you could get away with posting the topic in license forum at the moment as there doesn't seem to be a lot of moderating going on. I think just2good should be aloud to post it anyway as a trusted source. Really interested to here more, is it to go alone side Disney princess, is it Disney characters like mickey mouse and Donald duck or is it more film based. I would be happy with anything minifigure based. Quote

As for movies, we've got Batman, Ninjago and TLM 2, so we're gonna be stuck with themed series for a while now. Will they do CMF series for Ninjago and Batman though? TLM2 I can understand them doing it as for TLM. But for two already existing themes, I'm not so sure doing CMF would necessarily follow. For example, there are already loads of versions of the Ninjago figures. Unless there are a lot of new figures in the movie, then they are going to want to save the movie versions of the important characters for the movie tie-in sets, not a CMF line. Quote
8BrickMario Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 With the Disney series, I doubt it until I know which source material. Disney Animated Canon, with villains this time? Or Disney cartoons with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Donald? Anyhow, the CMF line is never going back to all-unthemed characters each year. Quote

rodiziorobs Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 It was an April 1st thread, so none of us took it seriously. Of course, before j2g resurrected it on a non-April-1st day, we had no reason to. Of course, if this is real there is no end to the follow-up questions: Will it be a full series? More than one? Or will it be a full range of sets? Are Pixar or Marvel involved? Are animated classics involved? What about live-action classics? Will they be DVD tie-ins (similar to the Hobbit figs) to promote movies as they are released from 'the Disney vault'? Minidolls or minifigs? Printed heads or strange molds a la the Simpsons, TMNT, and Angry Birds? Quote
