Really think I might buy a full box for the first time ever, so much potential with these figures, even if some are just of specific parts of the figures.

The funky witch, trick or treater (The absence of lower leg printing is still weird but that pail!), and the Fly are my top 3. I'll be passing on all the zombies. Scientist torso might be useful if I can remove the pink splotches from the lab coat.

Was thinking the same thing. Other than the scientist, who I simply just 'like'... I really like all or the others. Each one is awesome in my opinion, even the zombies. Absolutely love the fly, gargoyle and the grim reaper guy... Will need to give him a scythe though, or something... But then his face is quite cute too! The bansgee is pretty aweome too... But those semi trans clear leg pieces for the banshee and reaper... Awesome pieces!

Wow, this series is a lot better than I expected. I am not into zombies at all and the preliminary images looked very cartoony and unappealing to me so I was hoping I could save some money by skipping this series. However, looking at this pic I see about 6 or 7 figs that I really like and have to get at least one of... plus multiples of the bigfoot and the 'dementor' ghost.

..... The Tiger Girl definitely slipped LEGO's censors...

... and people who lived in Belgium during the 50's, 60's or 70's are surely reminded of the Tigra girl, the image of a cigarettes brand.

Apparently the woman who modelled for this was, years later, found murdered, ...a crime that never was solved... scary story..

Unknowingly, Lego realy did step down from their "moral highground" here...:tongue:

Still a nice figure though..

Wolfman- Is that a new head mold?

I think it is. At first, I thought it was a recolour of the Monster Fighters werewolf's head, but on closer inspection, I think it's a new mould.

I'll probably be getting a few of the S14 werewolf: one for display and at least one for parts.

Zombie Pirate Captain - I already have some zombie pirates and a skeleton captain, but you can't have too many undead pirates. I don't like the beard piece though so will dispense with that.

Mad Scientist - Don't really care for this minifig. I may get one for parts but probably not even that.

Witch - I have most (maybe all?) of LEGO's witches so will definitely be adding this one.

Plant Costume Guy- Our first non-animal costume, right?

No, I think Hotdog Guy was. Unless you consider a hotdog a bit of an animal!

I might replace the head with a pink head and make him a bona-fide plant monster.

I was thinking of that too.

The Human Fly- The biggest surprise to me so far! Great head, but the torso/leg printing looks cool, too! As somone else already mentioned, getting two to have two claw hands is a must!

I'm also going to give mine two clawed hands. I suspect a lot of AFOLs will do that. I think I'll display him being menaced by of a web-wielding arachnid-man from the Chima line.

Phantom- I know the head has taken some heat, but i think it would be useful in a Casper MOC or some cute ghost or another. Gray hood and tattered cloak- good to have. I'm assuming the torso is blank. The biggest piece here is the ethereal leg piece.

I quite like this one. I might change his head but I'm not sure yet. I already have a minifig that's similar; the middle guy in this trio:

spirit_warriors.jpg

Zombie Cheerleader - I'm into zombies, but only historical/fantasy ones, not modern ones. So this minifig will be good for parts, especially her head.

Cat Lady - I intend to replace her head with a Chima one and treat her as an actual weretiger. I hope she doesn't have a zip on her back.

Gargoyle - Cool minifig, possibly my favourite of S14. Will probably get several of this one.

Skeleton Costume Guy - I have mixed feelings about this one. When you have minifigs of skeletons, a costumed skeleton is a bit redundant. Still, I might use for one or two.

Monster Rocker - You can't have too many Frankenstein's monsters. I won't bother with the guitar though.

Zombie Businessman - I have no interest in this one.

Banshee- Someone asked if the Banshee and Phantom where smaller judging by the picture, but I think the opposite. They are taken from farther away to get them in the shot since the leg piece is actually taller than a leg assembly.

Correct. See my picture above.

I like the Banshee. I'll get one for display and one or two more for parts.

Bigfoot - I like this brown version of the Yeti. Not sure whether to display Bigfoot among the good, evil or neutral minifigs.

Spider Lady - I already have a couple of female vampires. This one will make a fine addition. She's up there among my favourite minifigs of S14.

Guess we might get Moe's Tavern and a figure of Moses with the Commandments now huh?

But seriously, the fig will have some great uses. Maybe get 1 for Marvel's Tigra and another for DC's Cheetah.

When can we expect a first review for these? I really want to know who's going to have back printing, a double sided face, and more details we can't see in this checklist. I think this is the start of themed series. I don't we're going to see Halloween minifigures in a long time. I hope we can get a castles themed series next. A space themed series would be even better.

I think it's a shame this is called series 14. Sure there's some nice new parts, but I don't care for that many monster figures. The new Scooby Doo sets will have plenty of those. Why not call it Halloween Series, like the Olypmic and Simpsons. A regular series, like all the previous ones, should be a mix of everything and for everyone.

I can't agree more, we've had so many series recently that were very specific. It would have been nice to get some more assorted figures. It's not like there's a shortage of ideas.

So much printing! Where is that in other themes?!

That said, bet barely a third have back printing - I can't understand why that gets dropped when it is standard elsewhere...

Plant guy is to become one of my Poison Ivy henchman in the jokerlsnd set, he'll fit right in...

Ah yeah! The official images!

I'll try to buy as much flies and gargoyles as possible. Maybe i try to buy a box for once, never done that before.

1) Werewolf: From this angle his head looks really cool. Tailpiece and bone are great. Will purchase

2) Zombi Pirate: More like a pirate ghost if you ask me. Real great fig, but i am not really into pirates.

3) Crazy Scientist: Love his outfit, but i think he might be cooler if he didn't have the crazy eyes. Will buy.

4) Witch: Perfect present for your girl/wife if she's making your life miserable ;-)

5) Plant guy: I might get three of them. Who would have thought that lego would give us venus trap plant figs. Love it.

6) The Fly: For me, the best of the series. I can't help to fantasize what if Lego would have made all their minifigs from day one with these flyheads? Lego city, all flies! Can't wait for the first poopmoc's too. Love the claw and i'll be praying to the lego gods there will be an extra claw with every Flyguy.

7) The Specter: He's probably better looking in real life. Will buy one.

8) Zombi Cheerleader: Not into zombies so no purchase

9) Tigra lady: Groovy! She has a tail too. I want her in my life.

10) Gargoyle: My runner up best of the series. Now i just need to make a building to have them on.

11) Skeleton guy: Really creative. Need at least one of it. I think in the flesh he will be even more stunning than he does now.

12) Rocker Frankie: I don't find him really appealling. Will not buy.

13) Zombie Business Man: Also a pass for me.

14) The Banshee: I'm not sure what i think of her yet. It feels like she needs something, but what? Some extra fog? I do like her face, but i think her body could have been a little more plain. Will buy.

15) Bigfoot: I still miss printing on his body. Will buy one, since i never had the chance to buy the yeti.

16) Spider Lady: I actually only want that lower cape for Spider-woman (the superhero).

Hi all,

I think the series looks great. I could do with one of each fig.

With such unusual parts they are perfect for mocs. Even the accessories are interesting, a bunch of those black whips would work well for power cables on a mech for instance. The cat is a good animal to have for set dressing. The spectre's cloth piece for torn clothes or flags or whatever.

Lots of potential even beyond just using them as monsters. Looking forward to release.

I've resisted on commenting until the full series was released, so I could see them all, and I actually really like them.

I love "The Fly". It's so perfect. The use of Davy Jones' claw does make me a bit sad, as it's not completely exclusive now (Different colour), but the use of it here is amazing. I loved the original "The Fly" film, and this figure is just great. I was really hoping he would have a fly arm, and the claw fits the bill for me. I also really like the Gargoyle, but that's because I just love gargoyles for some reason.

Also, I seem to be in the minority, but I really like the scientist's head. It's different and fun and should provide some nice inspiration for mocs, using it as something other than a head.

These are in 3 groups for me:

1. The good ones:

- Fly Monster (Best of the series)

- Wacky Witch

- Banshee

- Tiger Suit Girl

- Skeleton Guy

2. The OK ones:

- Gargoyle

- Spider Lady

- Zombie Pirate

- Bigfoot

- Spectre

- Werewolf #2

3. The "kill it with fire" ones:

- Monster Rocker

- Crazy Scientist #2

- Zombie Cheerleader

- Zombie Businessman

- Plant Monster

I think it's a shame this is called series 14. Sure there's some nice new parts, but I don't care for that many monster figures. The new Scooby Doo sets will have plenty of those. Why not call it Halloween Series, like the Olypmic and Simpsons. A regular series, like all the previous ones, should be a mix of everything and for everyone.

Agree. I think it is a bad decision to release a themed numbered series. It breaks the line of the CMF series.

a double sided face

I'd say Spider Lady, the Specter and the Zombie Cheerleader are the nominees for the double face award

(The Tiger Woman too but the costumed characters never have double face)

Really some great material here. Fantasy and Town both get alot of useful parts even if the minifigures as is don't appeal to people. This might be one where I get one copy of each minifigure, though I'm thinking I'll skip the plant guy.
