Dragonfire Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I need plant guy and zombie cheer leader. Zombie business man and wolf seems to be in plentiful supply, but plant guy isnt, nor the cheer leader... When I can find the shops that still have stock.... which is a concern. Again, I've found the plant guy to be the easiest to feel due to his huge, bulky pieces. I've felt all of them save the skeleton guy, zombie cheerleader and pirate captain now. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 I've been unable to find a Banshee, which is rather annoying because she may be my favorite one. I keep mistaking her for the Specter; and I've got three of those now. So I just decided to buy one online for $5 with free shipping. Should be worth the extra two bucks. Yesterday I also accidentally snagged a second witch. As well as a second Fly-man. I'm surprised to hear the witch is hard to find or distinguish considering the size of her hat. Anyways, now I'll only need the cheerleader and I've have a full set! Quote
DD840 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 The Banshee is the last one I'm looking for, too. Unless I get some doubles. I've dragged my sister with me to feel the bags and it took awhile to find the witch, it was one of the last ones she found. Quote
Modelmaker Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) feel for the chain when looking for the spectre but you can also hear the chain when you shake the bag no chain = Banshee Edited October 1, 2015 by Modelmaker Quote

I don't think she's hard to find, I think its that she is a very sought after minifig, Ive checked at my local target and other people just keep finding them before me. I just have to keep looking. Modelmaker Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Btw, i was in the local supermarket the other day, in the toy section, and watched as a kid about 6 or 7 years old rip open bag after bag with his teeth until he found the one he wanted Saved me some time too Quote

Boettner Builds Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Sounds like my TRU. There are open lego sets there all of the time! Quote
DarthPotato Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I finally got the Witch I needed. She's such a good figure; I love the purple. I just hate those skirt pieces... they make the figure look good overall and work better than printing, but they're a pain to put on and never fully wrap around the legs. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 (edited) I've seen some reviews of the "I love that minifigure!" book and it seems CMF S14 is not featured Edited October 3, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I heard that it was. Zombie Skateboarder's considered to be a part of it. Quote
gedren_y Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Book printings have to be ready well in advance, and it is likely that at the time of the finalized draft they only included released CMF series. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 I heard that it was. Zombie Skateboarder's considered to be a part of it. As far as I've seen, Minifigures from Series13 are the latest featured in the book (Apparently, the no mention of The Simpsons CMF's in the book) The Zombie Skateboarder is part of the Minifigures theme, but he doesn't belong to any series, much like the Toy Soldier. Note that there is no metion of CMF S14 in his stats, like these: Quote
kelceycoe Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I've seen some reviews of the "I love that minifigure!" book and it seems CMF S14 is not featured I have the book in front of me and yes, S14 has some mentions. Here are a few I know from the Spooky chapter: Page 82 - There is a very brief mention that the skateboarder from series 1 was reimaged as a zombie which we already knew. Page 87 - Plant Monster. Literally appears as 2015 and CMF14, there is no mention of him actually being a minifig eaten by a plant... it is called a costume in the book. Page 92 - Skeleton Guy. This has been a planned design for "some years ago," says designer Chris B. Johansen. Page 93 - Zombie skateboarder - Deisgner Chris B. Johansen jokes that he likes to reimagine older minifigures so we can see what happened to them and that this guy wasn't a good skater in the end... HAHAHAHAHA. Although not all appear in the Spooky chapter, almost all of the original Studios monsters are represented throughout the book. The Spooky chapter isn't all monsters and quite a few licensed spooky minis (none from any modern themes). The original Ghost and skeleton get represented, as well as the original Mummy minifig. Honestly, except for the stuff from 2013 and after, there weren't any new facts for the older minifigs that I could find. In fact, a ton of the minifigs were either firsts or milestones. You'll get the first female minifigure, facts about some accessories, and even facts on headgear. It's like a sequel to Standing Tall. The book does mention, at least, one Ghostbuster and one member from the Scooby Doo line. A few minis from other Ideas sets, and no reference to The Simpsons or Disney. Every popular minifigure aside from those two licenses (PotC is a Disney license and I think Marvel is excluded), are covered. Quote

Thanks for the info Then 8BrickMario was right about this: I think this is strange...In Series 6, the Leprechaun introduced the round pot piece, which was compatible with a bucket handle, but it was never used with one until S14 years later. Did they plan that far ahead? Quote
kelceycoe Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Then 8BrickMario was right about this: Very likely. I'm curious how far back some of these sets go in terms of original design, especially TLC's inhouse themes. BTW... Nexo Knights reminds me of Super Mario Bros. Wii, especially the Bowser levels. I recall Mario Bros 3 from the NES having ships on tanks, so I wonder how much of those older ideas influenced that theme and where the inspiration came from for Nintendo to do that? Quote
Robert8 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Very likely. I'm curious how far back some of these sets go in terms of original design, especially TLC's inhouse themes. They said in an interview that the made a list of +100 characters when Series 1 was on the works, and some of them haven't been released yet Maybe the Skeleton Guy was one of them Quote

8BrickMario Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 My point was that the round pot was never used with a handle before Series 14. By allowing it to use a handle when it was made, it means that they were already prepared for it to use one in Series 14. Quote
legopirate Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Just bought a box of series 14. After I ripped everything open, I have 59 extra codes for stuff I'm never going to use. I'm posting them here in no particular order or grouping. I put them in a google spreadsheet. If you take one, please leave a comment. Also, don't take them all. Just take a couple. I'm also cross posting this in this discussion: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=101613&st=100&gopid=2353340entry2353340 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1RpFpb4ZtI1Mu5XdIEycA-7l8V6jeLwmQs0XBFEDTWww/edit?usp=sharing Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 FINALLY found the last 5 I needed! LEGO Store had 4, a close-by Barnes & Noble had my Gargoyle. Some guy walked behind me and grabbed a giant chunk of packs and walked off with 4 boxes of giant sets. Some people. Anyway, I am a happy guy! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Ha! Great job! I'm still looking for the zombie cheerleader, myself... but I have 10 flies, so I'm satisfied for now... ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
