It's going to be a scooby doo halloween on the mantel this year!

Mystery Machine and Haunted Mansion sound like they might be must buys!!

Right now all but the plane are must buys for me.

This theme sounds great! I'm so glad they're classic! It's a shame the mystery machine won't fit the whole gang though...shouldn't that be a priority..? I wonder if Captain Cutler will be in the lighthouse set too? A lighthouse keeper doesn't sound like much of a villain.

I'm happy that they are classic designs, and minifigures. I think I'm most excited about the monsters though, since I love the current monster selection we have from the CMF's and Monster Fighters--so I'd love to add to those.

Although, I'm not happy that it seems like you have to buy the Mystery Machine sets ($30) and the most expensive set the Mystery Mansion just to get the full gang. Really?! I wonder which character of the gang is only in one set then. That's disappointing to those of us who really just want the gang themeselves.

I called it right about the pumpkin mold to a friend of mine when it was 1st leaked. He thought it was part of the CMF series just like a lot of others here.

I said it would be part of the scooby doo series because:

The mold was in the shape of a mask, and in the scooby cartoon, its usually a person in a mask and not an actual monster.

I told him there will probably be a regular flesh villain head under the pumpkin mask, and the sets will probably include some type of play feature trap to capture the bad guys. Once the villain is in the trap, the gang can remove the pumpkin mask revealing it was Mr. Johnson all along. It will probably be the same for the other monsters too.

Cant wait to see what the minifigs look like, and what type of traps they'll include in the sets

I'll end up probably just ordering the last member of the gang from BL instead of dropping $100 for a haunted house that will probably just pail in comparison to the MF one from 2012. It's really nice that it seems to be based on the classic show, especially with the inclusion of villains like Black Knight and Headless Horseman. Definitely want to see what's included in what, as well as pictures of the lighthouse. :excited:

If indeed the sets have at least the classic appearance, I am in. Honestly, I was not expecting the Mystery Machine to hold the entire gang. At $30, it should be on scale with the Lego Movie vehicles that were the 2 in 1 sets. It is sort of like Ecto 1, where you cannot fit every ghostbuster in there at one time. I too wonder which character is exclusive to the Haunted House. We know it is not Scooby, since there are two molds of him. Hopefully, someone very familiar with the theme and who was at the London Toy Fair can expound on this.

Could you imagine a minifigure with a completely glow in the dark diving suit? That would certainly stand out--would love to see it.

I was really surprised when the news of a Lego Scooby theme came out, especially considering Cobi/Character Building still owns the rights to the license.

I'm assuming the sets will be based on the new 2015 series. I'm not too crazy about the new character designs but it'll be interesting to see how TLG will turn them into minifigs.

Um, we dont know. The designs in the new show translated to lego would look just the same as 70's translated to lego.. no?

The only one that would look different would be Daphne. Her redesign lacks the pink tights and long sleeves.

The monsters list does feature classic Scooby Doo villains. However many of them are common monsters which could be reused in the new show. So there isn't complete confirmation yet. I'd say it's leaning towards classic right now. Too bad the details aren't more specific, if we knew which monster went with each set that would be a pretty good clue. For instance Shaggy and Scooby Doo used a plane to catch the Black Knight in the first episode, so if that were the minifigure selection for that set it would be a pretty good confirmation that they're using classic stuff.

Notably the box art is described and nothing is described as being out of the ordinary (And the Be Cool designs are noticeably different, so I feel like that would have been mentioned had it been those designs on the box).

I guess we'll see for sure soon enough.

I don't take that as a confirmation of being based on the classic show at all, I just take it to mean that the new show has a pretty similar roster of things overall. Yes, the animation looks different, but the costumes and situations will largely be the same, so translated into LEGO everything will look pretty much as it would if it had been based on the old cartoon.

I'm still very excited, especially for the minifigures. Sounds like we'll get some cool new hair-pieces and fleshie prints that are City friendly, which doesn't happen too much in Licensed themes. The bad guys should be cool as well.

That would be amazing! :excited:

i hope the wave is good, I also hope its fails. Do not want a 2. wave of scooby doo.

What? Why would you wish that? I want a creeper, phantom ghost, and many more classic villains that aren't in this wave.

Same here.I'd rather have Monster Fighters 2.0 instead of another SD wave.

They're not going to bring that line back. It was discontinued in the same year it was introduced. That's how poorly it did.

If this theme, a monster based theme, fails I'm doubting that would give rise to a Monster Fighters 2.0. Essentially this is just a licensed version of Monster Fighters. One with a built in audience. If it fails than say goodbye to monsters for a while.

Even so, we're still not going to get another monster based theme for a long time. I predict this will sell well and if it does, LEGO is not going to authorize another monster theme to compete with it and lose. And if somehow this theme does badly, we still won't be getting a monster theme for a while. Scooby doo is the only reason we're getting another "monster" theme anyway so some of you should be a little more grateful, in my opinion. We've seen monsters don't sell well on their own.

Oh, I completely agree. It's misguided that people think that this failing would result in more Monster Fighters. As I said before this is just a licensed version of that theme with an already existing audience. That's probably the only way Lego is going to get high sales out of monster based stuff. And honestly I prefer this over a generic monster theme anyways. The monsters will be compatible between both as they're minifigures, so really it's a win win for anybody who likes monsters in general.

It's nice that someone understands! Plus I've just loved Scooby-doo ever since I was little so this theme is a dream come true. Hopefully the sets don't disappoint.
