Is the source that claims this is indeed a Scooby Doo theme even reliable??The person who talked about this theme mentioned nothing about SD not only that but he also saw some sketches of it,so if was indeed SD he would recognized it.

I also wanted to ask you guys a question.Does anyone know how well the sets from the Monster Fighters theme did??I mean did they sell well??

It seems strange. Character have had the toy license for a very long time and I am guessing part of what nixed Doctor Who LEGO was the Character Building license. In fact, there are still Scooby Doo construction sets very recently released by Character.

People saying it's SD by pure speculation...I'll judge myself when we get pictures or an official statement about what exactly this theme is about. But I'm hoping for something similar to MF,even though I had my problems with this theme I loved it.

I agree we don't have it confirmed yet at all.

Does Doctor Who not also fit all the cues and we know something is going on with it and Lego?

BTW I am really starting to think its Doctor Who.

I think that is wishful thinking. If we do get any Doctor Who it'll be an ideas set and not a whole theme.

I wouldn't describe Doctor Who as a child friendly version of monster fighters but that is how I would exactly describe Scooby Doo.

Also the original show is considered retro today with both the clothes and van not to mention the overall look of the show.

It is interesting that.everyone has readily accepted the rumor of a new theme yet some reject Scooby doo based on the same type of unsubstantiated rumor. Not a criticism, just an observation how biases can affect judgement. And in this case I am certainly biased thus I have readily accepted both rumors to be true.

The first rumour came from someone reliable that has given information before, the second confirmation of Scooby Doo came from someone I don't know.

Scooby Doo is more likely the theme due to the tie in with Cartoon Network.....Mixels, Chima, Ninjago and DC Comic SH specials.....it could be a beginning of a whole new sub-theme or series of sub-themes.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.....now both Character Building and Cobi had licenses to produce SD sets......but Cobi also had the license to produce McLaren F1 sets and look what's in next years Speed Champions theme eh ?

Cobi is what's printed on the bricks that come in the boxes that say Character Building on (I have some Doctor Who sets) so surely they are the same company?

Nope. Cobi manufacture, Character commision the sets. I think the figures even be manufactured elsewhere by Character and everything is packaged by Character too.

I think we will get Scooby Doo. Because as you might remember, the guy who sketched the Monster Fighter theme had also some sketching work on Scooby Doo too. If someone could find that picture you will see. Okay I found it and there's only the vehicle they use in the sketch but still, it is something. :P

It most definitely is NOT Dr Who, or they would have rejected the Ideas projects at the recent review.

I only hope that whatever it is, it has no cool monsters or useful bits, so I can give it a miss

I was hoping for a return of Monster Fighters, with new monsters like the Headless Horseman, the Invisible Man, The Frankenstein Bride, the Mutant, Mothman...

Maybe, someday that theme could be rehashed as a black and white theme, using only black, white and gray pieces, just like the classic horror movies.

But I'm okay with Scooby-Doo, I just hope they will use the classic design of the characters instead of that new one.

I want to see some cool monster minifigures! :pirate_skel1:

(Could the Goblin headpiece be from this theme?)

And said what, they will not make it as it clashes with a currant licence. That would kind of let the cat out the bag.

If it's indeed Scooby Doo(even thought I hope it's not) atleast we'll get new monster figs.

The ghost pirate Capt'n ain't bad in the sketches.

My main concern about this theme being SD is that I bet my money that Lego will make it very kid friendly. So in the end I'm afraid the monsters will look hideous and not in the good way. Edited by LOTR343

I tend to believe this rumour as I have also been told that DW is happening next year.....all 13 of them.

So Lego need to replace Chima with something too....right ?

DW??

But I don't buy it...why would they want to replace Chima with a SD line??I mean what the heck??Even thought I would mind if Lego replaced it with another non-licensed theme but SD??No just no...Chima is way better.

I agree with the classic character design of Scooby-Doo, but the new one's design looks more worst as Johnny Test or something.
