TheBigRedCheese Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Non villain characters they should add are: Scrappy-Doo (Scooby's brave nephew) Scooby-Dum (Scooby's idiot cousin) Madelyn Dinkley (Velma's slightly younger possibly twin sister) (she debuted in Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra Doo) The Hex Girls Blue Falcon and Dynomutt Here's my opinion on your suggestions: Scrappy-Doo (Scooby's brave nephew) Absolutely! I never understood why Scrappy got so much hate ... Scooby-Dum (Scooby's idiot cousin) I think I've seen him once ... Really don't remember. He's the one with the red hat, right? Either way: Meh. Madelyn Dinkley (Velma's slightly younger possibly twin sister) (she debuted in Scooby-Doo! Abracadabra Doo) Never ever seen her before. Assuming she's the girl in the attached picture, I'd say, let's go for it! Worst case scenario, she looks so much like Velma, I feel that she could be made with custom stuff if she isn't released, which, I hate to say it, probably won't be. The Hex Girls Oh. My. God. This is the best thing since Betty White*. If Lego doesn't do this, damn them, and we'll head onto Lego Ideas in arms. Blue Falcon & Dynomutt: These guys might be pushing it a bit, mostly because of the fact that they also had their own show at one point, and only crossed over with the gang in the later years, and even then not only was it sporadic, but also, to the best of my knowledge, it was more like: Here's an hour of Scooby-Doo! COMMERCIALS! Here's an hour of Dynomutt, Dog Wonder! Maybe I'm wrong, but either way, they weren't major characters in any regard, again, to the best of my knowledge. None of this is to say that I oppose the creation of Lego Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, just maybe as their own thing. [betty White's older than sliced bread. No, really, she is. (http://www.huffingto..._n_4832325.html)] I figure that they should do a collectible minifigures series for Scooby doo. Series one could come with 1. Madelyn, 2. Scrappy, 3. Vincent Van Ghoul, 4. Flim Flam, 5. Samuel Chastain Rogers (Shaggy's father) 6. Wendy rogers (Shaggy's mother) 7. Maggie Rogers (Shaggy's younger sister), 8. The Creeper, 9. The Ghost Clown, 10. 10,000 volt ghost, 11. Hawaiian Witch Doctor 12. Ghost of Capt Cutler 13. Miner 49er 14. Merlin's Ghost, 15. Snow Ghost and 16.Space Kook. Quote
Still Raindrop Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I doubt that we will be seeing Scrappy, Scooby-Dum, Vincent van Ghoul, etc.--and I think part of this is that they weren't in the originals and the franchise has moved on from them. Kids in 2015 won't necessarily know who Scrappy is, and that era seemed to become something of an old shame since the late 90s. I could be wrong, of course. Quote
Kryne Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 I wonder if we will get a D2C Set like the Haunted House for this theme? It seems most themes get something huge to go with it. Quote

Ultron Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 People want a CMF for everything Seriously... I wish we could go back to just the regular minifig series. I'm tired of the simpsons hogging it up. As for Scooby, there's really no need for a CMF unless they decide to discontinue the license after one wave. But I have a feeling we'll get at least 2 Quote
Still Raindrop Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 4/5 sets are based on the first two series why shouldn't we get the appropriate characters to go with it? I thought the original "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" series had only Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby as protagonists, and later shows from the 70s and 80s introduced other characters. I'm not as up on Scooby-Doo as I could be, so I imagine I could be wrong. Quote
strangely Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) I thought the original "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!" series had only Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby as protagonists, and later shows from the 70s and 80s introduced other characters. I'm not as up on Scooby-Doo as I could be, so I imagine I could be wrong. Correct. Scooby Dum wasn't introduced until the third series "The Scooby Doo Show" in 1976 and even then he only appeared in a few episodes, never becoming a true regular in that series. Scrappy would be introduced in the next series in 1979. Flim-Flam and Vincent Van Ghoul would be introduced in 1985. The Headless Horseman episode did indeed feature Scooby Dum, so that is sort of a missed opportunity to include him. But then again he only appeared in a few episodes in the entire series, so it's not as if he's the most vital character. I doubt that we will be seeing Scrappy, Scooby-Dum, Vincent van Ghoul, etc.--and I think part of this is that they weren't in the originals and the franchise has moved on from them. Kids in 2015 won't necessarily know who Scrappy is, and that era seemed to become something of an old shame since the late 90s. I could be wrong, of course. I could see them doing Vincent Van Ghoul, he was used in the last TV series briefly. And I think he'd be a pretty interesting character to use as an exclusive. As for Scrappy I think he'll only ever be included if WB decides to use him in a new show or movie. His last appearance (outside of cameos) had him as the villain, and I'm betting that's how most modern kids know him. More or less his character would need a reboot of some kind before he'd ever be in a set. Edited June 22, 2015 by strangely Quote

strangely Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Ugh... it seems Poland will not get these sets as they are not in our new catalogue... It could just be a delay, I'm doubting they would completely block out a theme in a specific region. And we did have a rumor a while back that European territories might not see them until 2016. Any kid who loves scooby is going to want a copy because it has scooby in it. That's what I like about dvd. It gives old shows and characters new life. Quote

That's what I like about dvd. It gives old shows and characters new life. As is The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. My theory is that WB is testing the waters, seeing if Scrappy has any sales appeal left. WB has been trying a lot of different things lately to reinvigorate interest in the Scooby Doo franchise (Be Cool Scooby Doo seems to actually be including a few retro villains, probably to capitalize on nostalgia). I think it's fully possible we might see characters like Scrappy make a new appearance before much longer. And if that happens I think we'll see that reflected in the sets. Quote

Zzz Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 It's not in the German catalogue, not sure about other European countries, though. But here there won't be sets in 2015 it seems. I don't think that a complete line would be exclusive to Lego stores, or did we have that? Quote
Soupperson1 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The 2014 Disney Princess sets came 2 months late to Europe and some summer sets appear in Eyrope 2 months early, I'm sure we'll get the sets in October. Quote
kelceycoe Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 August Store Calendar released; very small snippet of Scooby Doo mentioned on reverse... Hopefully Scooby gets more promotion in October when it is expected a Halloween scene set will be released. Or will LEGO continue to use MF graphics this Halloween? What special attractions will the parks be doing for Halloween this year - last year one of the parks (Denmark maybe) literally built a Haunted House based on the set. You can find Youtube videos of the ride and attraction. Hopefully Scooby gets more love. It's cool that a neat Pirate set is being 0ffered but couldn't they have at least offered a Scooby set for the MMB? Quote
kelceycoe Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 (edited) THIS SITE CLAIMS TO HAVE THESE IN STOCK. I doubt it but maybe someone can check it out. http://www.fishpond.co.nz/c/Toys/p/LEGO+Scooby-Doo Also they list the 2014 Pre-eliminary box images (obvious the set photos are not on the boxes but cool otherwise).
