firefly101 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 (edited) Hello, I don't know if anyone will like these or want them. But I made some Torso Decals for castle factions BASED OFF OF ED-209 & RAMINATOR'S original Templates released. I am personally getting these printed on Lego torso's but Stickers would work also. I tried to match them to existing shields so people can having knights and shields. I added a couple more decals for Unicorn Knights, Black and Blue Dragons. I plan on using these for a tournament project so different knights are a must. If anyone has any comments or REQUESTS I will see what I can do. Here they are I hope others can use them and enjoy them. :-) Fright Knights Bull Knights Dragon Knights Dragon Knights Blue Black Dragon Knights Black Falcon Horse Barding Forestmen Templar Knights Wolfpack Knights Unicorn Knights Edited January 13, 2015 by firefly101 Quote

raminator Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 nice to see someone using my decals as a base :) Quote
firefly101 Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Its a good base, I hope you don't mind? I didn't upload for credits but to share for others. I personally have been searching for Decals and found very LITTLE available, so I had to make these. If you have any other material I would love to see it available because the more we have out there they better. I am getting some of these Printed on custom Torso's for my project and thought why not share with others. :-) Quote

Claus von Nassau Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Yes, please inform us about printing on the torso. i would like to know more about this so i can try for myself. claus Quote

firefly101 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 (edited) Printing directly on the torso would have to be done by someone with a special printer or like Raminator does which is a transfer method. Raminator can you give more details on your process for these guys so they will know about your method? As for me I am using Poppunkmunky on Ebay, you can get a batch of 5 front and back torso's printed for $25 or 10 front torso's for $27.50 + Shipping. I am springing for Front and back to match the newer Lego torso's because I had a lego dark age, and only have the newer torso's for castle so I want them to match. raminator Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 You talking about this? So you´re Minifig Madness on flickr? Quote
firefly101 Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Yep that will do, I think its a wonderful idea and I am very impressed over your application of this product. BTW do you have any other templates or graphics you would like to share for Castle torsos? ;-) Quote
raminator Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 nothing to share. But I think there's a lot of usable stuff here at the board. Quote
ED-209 Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 nice to see someone using my decals as a base :) Looks like some of my old ones in there too. Quote
firefly101 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Not a problem is it, its not for resale? I should have used a better word that "I made" but I MEANT the different patterns and shields etc. We all use some template to base custom work off of. Anyway since I GOT your attention, I wanted to say I LOVED your Black Falcon torso's! I got some I am having made for myself as I feel they will match the newer figures Lego has released. BTW I changed the first post to give a little more details of the original templates. :-) This was purely for SHARING and no other motive. :-) Raminator I NOTICED in one of the previous posts you mentioned something about Flicker, I don't use Facebook or Flicker so I am not that guy at all, I don't even have ANY of my stuff on the NET, at least not yet. I am working on my own project for personal use. P.S. Do either one of you have or know ANYONE who would have some Brickforge Great Helms for sale in Dark Gray? Zeev Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Could you update this when you see how your items order from Poppunkmunky work out. If the price you quote is accurate, and they are as good as they say they are, I think that a lot of people (such as the not so dexterous me) would be interested in getting work done by them. Quote
firefly101 Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 I planned on sharing since I have a test batch of 15 figures coming from them. 5 forestmen, 5 templars and 5 Black Falcons from ED-209's Black and Blue version. They should be in Thursday so I am a little excited because the possibilities........ I plan on having a tournament with different Coats of Arms, and then maybe having 50+ Black falcons made as I always loved those units and the newer pattern matches so well "IF" they turn out. They told me they are getting new equipment so they may be able to do shields later. I hope so at least. lol Quote

But as far as I'm concerned using my designs is perfectly fine, as long as you say that that's what you're doing - so I thank you for changing to first post to reflect that. If you want to see a quick overview of how I draw my designs, I wrote this tutorial a while back: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67532 Anyway since I GOT your attention, I wanted to say I LOVED your Black Falcon torso's! I got some I am having made for myself as I feel they will match the newer figures Lego has released. Thank you, I had a lot of fun making all the different versions - the Black Falcons were always my favourite faction when I was a kid! P.S. Do either one of you have or know ANYONE who would have some Brickforge Great Helms for sale in Dark Gray? My recollection is that Brickforge's "steel" colour is comparable to Lego's pearl dark grey. They do have stock of the great helm in "steel", but sadly their website no longer seems to show you what each colour looks like: http://www.brickforge.com/store/product.php?productid=18507&cat=601&page=1 I expect it'd be more expensive, but you could buy from a reseller? Firestar Toys has them, with a picture too: http://www.firestartoys.com/Shop/Minifigure-Headgear/BrickForge-Headgear/14367-BrickForge-~-Great-Helm-~-Steel.html Quote

firefly101 Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 No problem, I am just glad you guys seen what it was meant for and didn't take offense. I just was sharing and only sharing. ED-209 I was speaking of the Dark Gray old style take a look in this picture and see what I mean. There has to be some people out there that bought them that have a few for sale. I would pay a good price for them. Ram and Ed I hope you will like to see your templates on printed torsos. Greatest form of compliment is using the work for what it was meant for. Quote
firefly101 Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) Hi guys the figures came in early for me. Here are some pictures, I am sorry it isn't chrystal clear my stupid camera doesn't do well on closeups and yet it cost me $70 so i got ripped. The actual images on the figures are GREAT, they look Lego, but they have a slightly thicker coating on them than the Lego versions, but it feels like a plastic very tough will not come off easy at all. Looking at the black falcons I think I am going to place and order for 50 of them to make an army, they are that good. And then the other types, the shields are a little smaller than I am use to but that is to expected if you want a Belt and collar. I noticed the Kingdoms Crest are small also, so once you get use to the NEW look of a small coat of arms them blend in wonderfully. They say they should be able to do shields with their new printer so I am looking forward to some Oval Black falcon shields. :-))) P.S. Can anyone recommend a CHEAP camera that will actually work with good pictures something in the $80 or less range? Edited January 15, 2015 by firefly101 Quote

Sorry, I haven't seen those ones around for a while. Have you tried contacting Brickforge directly? If you're wanting large enough numbers they might even be able to make some as a special order? Hi guys the figures came in early for me. Here are some pictures, I am sorry it isn't chrystal clear my stupid camera doesn't do well on closeups and yet it cost me $70 so i got ripped. They look really good! I've used Poppunkmunky before and found them to be really friendly and the quality very good. I particularly like how well the Black Falcon with the quartered tabard turned out! I did a run of my own a while back (although these are pad printed, with metallic silver ink!): As for the camera, see if it's got a macro setting mentioned in the manual. And you'd be amazed how good your shots can look if you put together some controlled lighting. Take two desklamps, put one on each side of your model, tape some greaseproof paper from the kitchen over the lamp as a diffuser and you'll instantly get a huge improvement in your photos. Just make sure the paper doesn't touch the bulbs and start a fire! Quote
firefly101 Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) Nope we don't want the house on fire. lol Where did you get those pad printed and what was the cost? Because isn't pad printing better and more Lego than the plastic printing? Thanks for the tip ED-209 That worked check out the new pictures The are much better, you can see Pad PRINTING has better image quality but I wonder if this stuff is more durable because it looks really tough. As detail to be honest how many of us are looking at the minifig this close, usually they are backdrops in large groups. lol Its cost me about $5 per torso, and with bulk you can get $4 for a 2 sided print, single sided would get you more, but I just had to match the newer minifigs that are double sided print, especially since I really don't have any of the old torsos only the newer stuff. And some of the designs back then were not that good compared what we can have done custom. Overall I am happy the torso print lines up and it was fast service. About 4 days and that was over a weekend! Edited January 15, 2015 by firefly101 Quote
firefly101 Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Well I checked with CitizenBrick and they wont do any logo that used Lego work so..... Weird since it isn't a copy Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Very promising results here! Quote
