Jorrith Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 The story of Lord Mortis - Part 5 - The Awakening Part 1 Prelude: After Raghas Memnon passed on, his sons are on their way to Lord Mortis in Shadowmere in hopes of getting into his service. The road is long and dangerous, and they still have a long journey ahead of them. Also in the meanwhile, Lord Vladivus has met Lord Anfauglir and both are now on their way to Shadowmere to meet up with Lord Mortis, who is allready enjoying Lord Vladivus's hospitality. All three lords know that time is short, and swift united action must be taken to break nocturnus free from Raavage's reign of tiranny... Somehow, the following scene takes place, someplace completely elsewhere... A sunny place, lots of green, nowhere near nocturnus... Looks like Avalonia in the summer... A young lady is relaxing under the tree, enjoying the sunshine... So happy, enjoying the red flowers that are her favorite... It seems this is her garden... A cloud starts to block the sun, and a pale looking person approaches the young lady... Lord Mortis: Hello Sonja. Sonja: You! Why are you here?! You know very well i don't want you here! Lord Mortis: I appoligise for entering your garden, but we need to talk. I've brought you an apple, you still love those, right? Sonja: Well yes, but that doesn't answer my question... Why are you here? Lord Mortis: If there was any other way to talk to you, trust me, i would. As Lord Mortis is walking towards Sonja to give her the apple, and she to him, something is happening to the ground Lord Mortis is walking on.... Sonja backs away from Lord Mortis.. Sonja: Stop! You reak of death! Lord Mortis: Yes i know. This is what i have came to discuss with you. Sonja: Get out of my garden! You are killing it! Lord Mortis: This is not my doing Sonja... But this is what will happen to your garden and everything and everyone you love, if you won't listen to what i have to say... Sonja notices that the flower she was holding turned brown, and it sets her off in rage. Suddenly her dress changes to black, her skin turns just as pale as that of Lord Mortis, and the dead flower turns into a dagger. The rushes towards Lord Mortis and holds the blade to this throat... Sonja: How DARE YOU! Sonja: GET OUT OF MY GARDEN! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! Lord Mortis is supprised by the sudden rage of sonja. He drops the apple, and takes a few steps back. As he is doing so, his robes of white turn dark... Lord Mortis: I am so sorry to invade your dream in the way i have done just now. But the situation at hand is dire, and this will happen to your garden back home, even all of historica if we don't act now! Nocturnus is under the tiranny of the black spire, and once the whole land is under his rule, he will go on to conquer more. Raavage won't stop. Ever. Sonja: So why should i care? Thanks to you i will never be able to visit my garden again! These dreams are all that i have left! And you dare mess with them?! Lord Mortis: I did not want to do this, please believe me. I was on my way to Harbringer's Haven to awake the covenant, but Lord Vladivus of Shadowmere requested my presence to discuss the resistance against the black spire. Time is short, and i fear that if i traveled to the convenant to awaken the army, we might be too late. Word has it that Lord Anfauglir turned his back on Raavage, if we unite our forces we might have a chance to fight the black spire. If we do nothing, Raavage will pick us off one by one. We need to unite. I need you to wake up and assemble the army, and have it march to Shadowmere. Sonja: Hrmph! You have a fine way to turn someone's dream into a nightmare... What about my dream garden you just trashed? Lord Mortis: Please Sonja, forgive my rude interuption of your slumber, this garden will be ok, but you will have to wake up. Sonja: Very well then. But you owe me quite a large favor to make up for this. I won't forgive you for intruding my privacy that easy! Lord Mortis: Well, you are absolutely right. When you wake up, look for a ring under your pillow. If anyone questions your leadership, show them the ring. You are now second in command of the covenant. Sonja sheaths her dagger.. Sonja: Well, that is, if the ring is still there... Lord Mortis: It should be, i am certain of it. Sonja: Very well then. I will awaken the covenant, and i'll see you in Shadowmere. Needless to say, you owe me some flowers when i arrive. You know what kind. Lord Mortis: Those are impossible to get in nocturnus! Sonja: You can invade someone's dream, but not get them flowers? Lord Mortis: .... Uhm, i'll see what i can arrange for you, my dear Sonja. Sonja: Good. Shortly thereafter, inside a crypt in Harbringer's Haven, sounds start to emerge from one of the coffins..... To be continued. Hi there! It has been a while since i've posted something new, and this has been because of some personal developments and also because i have a rather big installment in the works that is part two of this installment. Originally i wanted to make this one installment, but that would have made the story quite too long for a single forum posting, and it kinda creates a cliffhanger, so that's a bonus too! I have the next build for 80% done, and it's gonna be massive! MassEditor is also working on stuff, so not sure if it will be posted before, or after his build, but we'll see. Thought it would be ok to just post this, as a small progression in the story we are working on. Lord Vladivus is on a vacation right now, so things are a bit slow, but we all agreed to take it easy while LV is enjoying his vacation down under. The scene sans figs: About the MOC: I've wanted for my sigfig to raise his army and march to Shadowmere to aid the rebellion agains the black spire. But, due to the storyline plotted by ME, LV and myself, things did not go as i originally planned. LM is now in Shadowmere, unable to get to Harbringer's Haven so i came up with the idea of invading the dream of a sleeping vampire. The nice thing about the fact it is a dream, you can get away with stuff that would only seem normal after taking a hit of acid... Or stuff like that. I also wanted to make it look weird, but falling into place in the end. I hope i have succeeded in that, this build has been standing in my display cabinet for two months now, since i have been working on the other MOC. Had some time to think about the storyline, hope you like what i came up with! C&C Welcome! Quote
Tomsche Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I really love this build and it`s storyline, great work Quote
kabel Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Holy crap, the story and the implementation of the story is awesome! Can't wait to see what's gonna happen next! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Creepy story - well told in your pics. Quote
de Gothia Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 As said by other, that´s a creepy story! I really like that you can see that he brings with him death in her garden! Quote
MassEditor Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Ohhh, I've been waiting for this story, and you do not disappoint! So clever and elegantly done, the first scene with the decaying wake left by LM (in that snazzy white suit!) and the dying flowers is just plain brilliant. The crypt is very well done, the photography gives it a nice, creepy look. This is first-class combination of build and story, and we haven't even seen the second part yet! Can't wait to see it hit the forums! Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I really don't know how you guys are able to do these story builds so well! This is great all around. Quote
LordDan Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Great story! That crypt looks really nice, i like the curved SNOT steps. It does look a little dusty, but is that intentional? Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Damn Jorrith! Great stuff, that scene is brilliant. A fantastic idea with the dream sequence- really allows you to get out of the Nocty style! Story is great too! Quote
Jorrith Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Thanks guys! The crypt is indeed a little bit dusty. Not intentional though, it was the first part built and it took a while to get the roof up so it had some time to collect dust. The garden scene was small enough to store in my display cabinet, so it did not collect any dust. Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Didn't see that dream twist coming Superb story and great builds to accompany it Quote
Slegengr Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Well-played story, Jorrith! The death brought about by Jorrith is demonstrated very effectively through the different scenes! I am looking forward to the rest of the story! Quote
Blufiji Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Wow definately impressive. I greatly enjoyed the story, definately didn't see a vampire dreaming as a twist. Great stuff! Quote
Jorrith Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Thanks guys! The story was the most fun, i really wanted that twist in there that halfway in, the reader realises it's a dream. The dying grass and flowers were added lateron, since i thought it would be something that could happen in a dream... (and maybe i have seen too many anime movies) Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 So cool! I love your build and your story! Your work is fantastic! Quote
