Robert8 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Keep in mind the uptick in interest in Classic Space started largely with the popularity of Benny from TLM. Or maybe just more classic space sets inside The LEGO Movie 2 theme, like Benny's Space Base Anyway, I hope the next Space theme will be better than Galaxy Squad Quote
just2good Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I bet the next Space theme will come next year, and that it will be a basic one-wave one, like the Castle 2013 sets and Pirates 2015 sets. There will probably be five sets or something, with simple builds. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have heard of a rumour about the good Doctor.........I can't say really anything other than that but something involving all 13. Quote
Lady K Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have heard of a rumour about the good Doctor.........I can't say really anything other than that but something involving all 13. That would definitely be a happy thought! All 13?! Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 I have heard of a rumour about the good Doctor.........I can't say really anything other than that but something involving all 13. Sadly, wrong forum... But a great news for all hypochondriacs... Quote
SMC Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I have heard of a rumour about the good Doctor.........I can't say really anything other than that but something involving all 13. What! want all 13 but hope Lego wont make me buy 13 sets. CMF maybe? Quote

But I guess we know the juniorization will hit the space theme sooner or later Quote
Backgild Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 There was a post on reddit with the first pics from the Nuremberg Toy Fair including the City Square. The images are small, but I can convince myself that there is a white triangle on the astronaut's chest. http://i.imgur.com/j7yur9rl.jpg Original post with all the images: http://m.imgur.com/a/2LRtm Quote
slacker int Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) The images are small, but I can convince myself that there is a white triangle on the astronaut's chest. The "futuron" figure is the only thing I'm really hoping to see a better picture of soon... fingers crossed! (but i do agree it does look promising) Edited January 28, 2015 by slacker int Quote
Artanis I Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I do believe that is indeed a green Futuron minifig! No way I am buying that set though From that pic and the one at the end it seems the castle minifig is either from black falcons or castle 2013. Blue torso, grey helmet & legs. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Which minifig is everyone talking about? The only minifig that I can see that looks vaguely like they might have a Futuron logo on them is the one standing by the food-cart with red pants. Quote

The early London reports mentioned that the Futuron astronaut was a display in the Lego store, so I'm looking at the fig in the upper left window. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 The early London reports mentioned that the Futuron astronaut was a display in the Lego store, so I'm looking at the fig in the upper left window. Got it. And, after carefully examining it...Yes, it does look like we have Green Futuron, people! I could try to come up with other possibilities it could, but that's just plain a triangle. There's nothing else that LEGO's produced like it, and I seriously doubt they'd come up with something so much like the design for no reason, when they could throw in a cameo like this. And, if you look close enough, the CS insignia is pretty obviously printed in the center. Now, if it only gets some good discounts... Quote
danth Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Definitely looks like Futuron. I though this was a funny comment from another thread: The green Futuron spaceman is just Lego way of saying yes we know some people will buy this set just for that figure but we are not going to make a good space theme anytime soon. Quote
Bob De Quatre Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 It's better seen on the box than on the actual set, but I really think it's a futuron minifig And so that's the only Sci-Fi we'll got, as the mentionned space sets do fits in city... Note that the new space logo is close to the old classic space logo. Quote
slacker int Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 This link was posted in the town forum... if you watch around the 0:49 point you can see the town square set and the new green futuron fig is just visible! Quote
Robert8 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 A Classic Space minifigure on LEGO Shop's window... C'mon! That has to mean something! Quote

Maybe it's a hint that Lego is bring Space and Castle back next year? It certainly makes sense if you think about it. Quote
slacker int Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So apparently there was a "rare green futuron prototype" from back in the day... i guess this is something like what the new one will look like - awesome! narbilu Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I hope galaxy trooper/patrol figs are going to be used in future sets. Little less fancy colours and a bit darker, more space like. Again the galaxy collectable figs are a real must have. Quote

Lady K Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Any chance we might get the Seatron line and the monorail? Maybe the time is right now for it with the popularity of Benny and The Lego Movie. Quote
Artanis I Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Sadly, monorail is dead forever, and Seatron (besides the alien minifigs) became Space Police, M:Tron & Aquazone. I'd say about 1 in a Brazilian. Quote

I'd say about 1 in a Brazilian. I wouldn't say that Monorail is dead forever, if LEGO thinks they have a good reason to bring it back, and they can justify the budget, they will. It may end up having a different mold, as replicating the original molds would add to the cost, but I sincerely doubt that all hope of one is gone. LEGO has repeatedly shown in the last few years that they do listen to the AFOL crowd, and they will go against what seems normal for them, if they can make a profit. Look at Anakin Solo's Custom Starfighter - who would have expected we would have gotten something like that, especially seeing how old and out of mainstream use the media featuring it was? But we still got it. Granted, it's a slightly different case, since it's from what is one of, if not the the, best-selling lines, but LEGO is quite aware of how much the AFOL crowd wants a Monorail, and I'm certain that the AFOLs working as designers, like Mark Stafford, have kept looking out for a good reason to introduce one. It'll take time, certainly, but with the ever-increasing demand for a new one, I'm guessing that it will come, someday, in some form. Quote
