Dubbadgrim Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 An undead witch of the Moruth Swamplands offers cures to the many ailments that present themselves in Nocturnus. My first freebuild for Nocturnus! Quote
Blufiji Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Great color scheme. The build feels very Nocty like. Your first free build did not disappoint. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I see you have turned to "darker themes" now. Creepy colour scheme - the window frames lighten it up a little. And I feel watched by the plant on the upper left Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Great use of the croc tail- I might have to steal that one! Lovely stonework- looks suitably dark whilst being quite light! Quote
Jorrith Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Excellent! For your first nocty freebuild, its pretty impressive! Lovely brickwork, and those plants up top are a nice touch. Quote
mdgas Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Great part usage with the croc tail and the loader buckets for the roof! The red windows really add some nice color to the building without taking away from the dark theme. Are the buckets attached anyway to the building? Quote
Spader Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 Nice stonework! The plants look good as well! Quote
Dubbadgrim Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Thanks a lot guys! I see you have turned to "darker themes" now. Creepy colour scheme - the window frames lighten it up a little. And I feel watched by the plant on the upper left Haha indeed, might have to do a few bricklink runs to get some more nocturnus vegetation! Great part usage with the croc tail and the loader buckets for the roof! The red windows really add some nice color to the building without taking away from the dark theme. Are the buckets attached anyway to the building? Cheers, yes the buckets are attached to a ground pillar which is then attached to the roof. Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 buckets So THAT'S what those are! I really like the structure and the plants on the roof, but I feel the landscaping is rather barren with some random lime green thrown on top. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Haha indeed, might have to do a few bricklink runs to get some more nocturnus vegetation! That is fine - might happen to all of us And you have changed your picture/sigfig. What is it that the man in red has "accomplished"? Quote
Dubbadgrim Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) So THAT'S what those are! I really like the structure and the plants on the roof, but I feel the landscaping is rather barren with some random lime green thrown on top. Thanks, yes I didnt make too much there because I didnt want to clash with the different colours on the building. A bit of rockwork probably would have fitted in nicely though. That is fine - might happen to all of us And you have changed your picture/sigfig. What is it that the man in red has "accomplished"? I don't have a big backstory (unlike some guys here!) but It is a guy from one of my mocs that I really liked I also think he makes a great avatar/sigfig. Here is a better pic and a description Edited January 18, 2015 by Dubbadgrim Quote
MassEditor Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Awesome first freebuild Dubbadgrim, the apothecary looks great. Nice work on the texturing and the potted plants are a nice detail. Having seen your work elsewhere, I'm definitely excited to see you joined Nocturnus! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Very good start to your Nocty career Crazy parts usage with those loader buckets and the wall texturing looks great. Nice use of those red window frames too Quote
Slegengr Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Nice build, Dubbadgrim! The stonework is nice, especially with the dark red accents around the windows! Nice parts usage for the roof with the upside down loader buckets! The potted plants and bottles certainly aid the apothecary appearance. The landscape looks fitting for Nocturnus, though a little bit plain. I like how the stone path is sunken below the level of the ground! Quote
LordDan Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Great build! The building looks really nice, especially the crazy plants on the roof and the part useage on the roof is awesome, it took me a while to realize they were loader buckets! Quote
Dubbadgrim Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) thanks for comments + feedback fellas! Edited January 20, 2015 by Dubbadgrim Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 A quality build! Welcome to the darker side! Quote
SarahJoy Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Nice build, with lots of details to enjoy -- the detailed stonework, the slanted roof, the rooftop garden. I agree, more texturing on the tan ground would add to the build, but overall, very nice job! Quote
LittleJohn Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Excellent build! The red window frames, and weird plants look great! Quote
