Masked Builder Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 "Thanks!" Alexis eyes the metal. "Okay let's go check the bathroom." Quote
Sandy Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Before Althior opened the door to the bathroom, Equestria stopped them. "But what about you, Lilly? What is it that you wish?" "All I have is these measly 6 gold. And... umm... all I want is to have you with me again, Equestria. Grandpa Zed gave you to me when I was born, and you were always my favoritest toy. Then I lost you. I cried like a month." "Then you shall have your wish fulfilled. And it will cost you nothing." Equestria suddenly stopped moving and shrunk in size. She was once more just a toy. Lilly picked her up and hugged her tight with a big smile on her face. The party then turned to the door on their right. Just as they were about to step over the threshold, a booming, metallic voice shouted from the bathroom. "Halt, intruders! Not a step further! This room is in the protection of the Tin Knight! That is, myself! I have seeded the floor tiles with mines, so unless you want to get blown up into smithereens, you should turn back!" "Grr! How dare you put mines into my dollhouse?!" Lilly turned to the heroes in anger. "That's one of Merlyn's stupid toys! We must give him a good whopping!" "Ha! I would like to see you try! There are a total of 50 mines under this floor. How can you even dream of getting across?" Lilly looked at the toys she carried. "Looks like you have to act as minesweepers, guys", she said to her toys. She then whispered to the unicorn doll. "Though not you, Equestria." ~MINEFIELD OF THE WATERY LOO~ The heroes must find a safe path through the mined floor (from the bottom to the top of the picture below). They can use Lilly's toys as minesweepers. If the toy hits a mine, the toy will break and the tile on the floor will be rendered unpassable. If Lilly runs out of toys, heroes can brave the field themselves at the risk of getting knocked out for the duration of the puzzle. The heroes can also try to use their tools to help out with the puzzle, but spells cannot help them this time. To move a doll or a hero through the floor, the specific coordinates must be given for the entire route, starting from row 16 and ending to row 1. Diagonal movement is allowed as well. Once a safe route is established, all standing heroes will gain extra experience. Sandy Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Alexis moves onto A16, then inspects the surrounding spots to see if they're safe. QM Note: Did you really think it would be that easy? Alexis stepped onto the tile, and was relieved to find out it did not explode under her weight. She tried using the compass again, but it again swerved back and forth. She would have to think of a specific tile. Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Alexis inspects A15 and B15. OOC: It was worth a shot. Quote
Flipz Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Arthur, meanwhile, uses his own Magic Compass to check I16. Quote
Sandy Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 QM Note: Wow, you're really choosing the long way through? Alright then... Alexis inspects A15 and B15. The compass indicates that it is safe to move on either of those tiles. Arthur, meanwhile, uses his own Magic Compass to check I16. Arthur's compass says the tile is safe. Quote

Sandy Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 Alexis uses her compass to try to find the square that would take them the shortest route. OOC: So there's an easier way? Alexis was disappointed again, for the compass could only point directions, not calculate distances. QM Note: Yes. Make one of the toys walk a specified route and see how far it gets before it blows up. Quote
Flipz Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 OOC: We only have a limited number of toys. Remembering a similar situation faced by another group of Heroes, Arthur calls out to Alexis. "Here! Borrow my Pickaxe, tie it to the end of one of your whips, stand on a safe tile and swing it in a circle! You should be able to clear a large area of tiles that way!" Quote
Flipz Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 "Lexie? We going to try this or not?" OOC: For the sake of moving forward, can we assume we try this from I16? Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 "You," Alexis turns and looks at him, "don't get to call me that. Watch yourself." Alexis ties the pickaxe to the end of Death's Whip and spins in place on I16. Quote

Alexis ties the pickaxe to the end of Death's Whip and spins in place on I16. QM Note: Umm, how far do you think it will reach? Which tile will you swing it on first? Be more specific, please! Alexis isn't just swirling her weighed whip around in the air, is she? Quote
Masked Builder Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Alexis swings the whip to hit H16 then H15. OOC: No. Quote
Sandy Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Alexis swings the whip to hit H16 then H15. As soon as the pickaxe touched the first tile, it exploded, destroying the tool as well. Alexis quickly pulled her whip away, relieved that it wasn't badly damaged by the blast. Now the heroes had 49 mines left to dodge. QM Note: The red spots have been destroyed utterly and cannot be travelled through. Quote
K-Nut Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 "Could try throwing a Lightning Bomb as well. Might take out some of the bombs, but who knows what it will do to the dollhouse..." Althior said from the sidelines. "Mind lending me your Magnifying Glass, Arthur? Three of us working on this would be better than two." Quote
Flipz Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) "By all means," Arthur replies, frowning at how quickly his plan had fallen to pieces. The pointer of the compass swerved to the left and right. Apparently there were mines everywhere ahead, but the compass could not tell where or how many. Althior checks to stand on L16, then checks K15, L15, and M15. Using his freshly gained Magnifying Glass, Althior saw that the tile he first searched had been tampered with. However, this prevented him from reaching the other tiles. Quote
