Great, and I just bought the last SPIII impulse from Toys 'R' Us and opened it.

Oh well, maybe next time. I could use another Snake.

Well I though I would give it a try so here goes City 8398 BBQ Stand in a bag:

Not so easy moving and turning around those little parts throught the clear plastic.

Maybe I should have hidden the extra round trans orange plate in the fridge!

That's cool  Surprisingly, there'es a lot of space in that bag :sceptic:

Here's 8400 Space Speeder built in the bag:

The minifigure took two minutes, since the head and pants got stuck in the bag...

and the set itself took 4 minutes, since the bag is so empty, unlike 8399 K-9 Bot. Also notice the upside-down jackhammer piece.

Not the same thing, but partial bag builds of Stone Chopper and Cannon Battle .

It's the Headless Horseman! :oh3: err.... headless chopperman? Either way it's creepy.
What exactly is the fun in partial bag building?

Becuse if you keep them in the bag, it'll be a reminder of how truly pathetic your life really is.

Wait, what?

I should be buying a Racer soon, so I want to try Bag Building it.

Well it's the same as bag building except for sets where there is more than one bag. I took my pics, so now I can open the bag and finish building it, take some more pics then dissemble it for MOC's.

I'm off to the Lego store in Florida on Wednesday, so I should be able to pick a couple things up that I can bag-build on the trip home. It should keep me occupied for a while. Hope I don't overload my brain trying to get one little piece on 'cause I can't grip it through the bag.

Haha! Cool, I've got to try it next time I get a small set.

Sorry to revive an old topic, but I wanted to share some pics of my first bag-build. I assembled one boat from Venice Canal Chase today, and man is it fun!

I didn't do this with the other 2 bags, but I wanted to at least try it with one. The bridge probably wouldn't fit anyways.

Are you kidding? I'm thankful that you shared these pics with us! :sweet: That's amazing; one of the largest bag builds I've ever seen!

Nice work, and again, thanks for sharing!

I had a go at building a Bionicle set in the bag, this one: 8915 - Toa Matoro.

It was pretty hard to do, as the set just only fit in the bag after assembly. Adding technic bushings and stuff is much harder than building with bricks and plates.

I'm impressed!

That VCC is amazing! I want to do that with Shanghai Chase or something.

The VCC is very impressive, those boats where rater complicated without the bag. I think I'd like to try this next time I buy a small set.

That's really awsome. I never thought to do one of the bigger sets. I should have tried some. I was tempted to get BBQ Stand just to bag bild it but forgot about it. This needs to be added on my Lego to do list.

Lego to do list:

1. sort bricks

2. obtain my sigfig parts

3. get some certain mnifigs

4. bag build

5. and the list goes on.

I can't think of anymore off the top of my head.

Wow, thanks for sharing that with us Inconspicious! It's the largest bag-build that I've ever seen. :oh:

Thanks for the comments, guys! I guess my one or two hours didn't exactly go to waste. I'd say the hardest part was getting all 8 studs on the plates for the exploding engine.

Oh, and ILikePi, it's Inconspicuous, not Inconspicious.

Well, I know you better now, so I'll spell it right next time.

What official LEGO sets (NOT RACERS) can you build in a bag?

Share you stories and pictures here of any sets you have built whilst still in the UNOPENED bag?

I recently purchased the Indy Canal Chase set and had built half of it, but still had bag 3 (Indy's boat) unopened and my best friend challenged me to try building it while it was still unopened. I have never tried this before but thought it was a pretty fun thing to do so I took him up on it. This bag contains around 130ish pieces and has 33 steps to complete it, which was pretty adventurous for my first try, but I finished in around 2 hours and 15 minutes. I wasn't really timing myself exactly but that is pretty much it, give or take a few minutes.

Here are the pictures of the boat, COMPLETED while still in the bag. There was a smaller poly bag inside this one that I had to open as well, probably the hardest part of the whole thing. Well apart from getting 5 pieces from finishing and realising I had missed step 11. D'oh! Easily fixed though! Haha! There is three spare pieces, 2 studs and 1 1x1 tile (Can anyone confirm that is correct?)

As you can see a lot of the printing came off the bag, my fingers were pretty much black when I had finished.
