Hinckley Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 He says it's cool. I will PM you his address. He will also take care of the hosting. Awesome. Duel ON! And I agree with you, may the best wal...hey! wait a minute >:-( ... Quote
Siegfried Posted July 22, 2007 Author Posted July 22, 2007 Cool. *wub* You really should do something about that polymorph on your head. He has changed colour now. ;-) Quote

Aredhel Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Like Ras said, I tried to build the Racers in the bags. Maybe I will try some others some time, too! Just did not upload every picture of every Racer I built in the bag! -Aredhel Quote
Siegfried Posted July 22, 2007 Author Posted July 22, 2007 This? Yes. It is one of those shows that can be great one episode and horrid the next so I can only recomend it with reservations if you haven't watched it before. The US were considering making their own version but they did a horrid job. (I have the un-released US pilot.) Quote
Norrington Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Don't worry about it, it's just me being a jackass as usual... ;-) I can vouch for that. X-D I even have pictures and print outs for when I take him to court fot the Class-Action Sexual Harrasment suit. ;-) Anyway, I respect anyone who has the patience to do this without having a tantrum of frustration and throwing that [insert explative]ing [insert explative] againt the wall. *y* \ Quote
Poomerio Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I'm going to attempt this soon =P Looks like a lot of fun.. In a bag! - Poomie Quote
SirNadroj Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 This looked like great fun, so I attempted. I found out it is harder than it looks, probably becuase the bag wasn't totally transparent. This is a set from 1987, a basic one at that. I builded the fish on the front. Quote
Quarryman Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 What a nice thread to start the week with :-) ..and now all you evil (:-P) people proving that bag building is possible have made me want to try.. maybe I should drop by somewhere after work and see what I can find.. Leave him alone already >:-( he's only birthing babies into my brain. Are you a polymorph-phobe too? I hope that's not what Holodoc prescribed for your "sick mind" :-P Quote
Norrington Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Oh Sinner and Hinckley, you tease. Every thread you two enter start serious, then turn to extreme off-topicness. Anyway, maybe I'll try bag buillding some-time. Quote
Quarryman Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 So, now I've tried it too, and it was quite fun. Actually a bit more difficult than I thought at first, especially getting the 1x1 round plates on the first step was quite a challenge ;-) (I built a 8133 Rally Runner (yes, I know it says "Rider" on Brickset and Peeron, and probably other places too, but on my box it says "Runner" ;-) ) And, am I the only one thinking this could be a fun contest at, say, perhaps the next EB Event? (might be someone mentioned it not using "contest" or "competition though.. didn't bother to actually read the whole thread just to see.. ;-) ) Quote
Siegfried Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 Oh Sinner and Hinckley, you tease. Every thread you two enter start serious, then turn to extreme off-topicness. Anyway, maybe I'll try bag buillding some-time. I aim to please! X-D Look at all the merriment and positivity in this thread, and much of it is still Lego related. After all the negativity here lately over certain unspeakable issues, what could be better? *wub* I heavily reccomend trying bag building; it isn't expensive to try and it gave me an excuse to buy a cute Racers set. :-$ Quote
captaintau Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Yes. It is one of those shows that can be great one episode and horrid the next so I can only recomend it with reservations if you haven't watched it before. No, its more series thats variable not episode. Series 1: heavy on scene-setting and characterisation, low on comedy. Seen by some as the best series. Certainly is funny in places, but was certainly innovative and original in its day. Series 2: Bettered series 1. Writers got more confidant. Characters got out. It got funnier. Series 3: Consistently roll-on-the-floor my-sides-are-about-to-megablocking-split level funny. Especially Polymorph. The "boxer shorts" scene took ages to film as the actors couldn't hear each others' line over the laughter of the audience. Series 4-6: Consistently excellent, though unable to top series 3. Series 7: The only "bad" series. For various changes in actors, writers, circumstances, they virtually had to start over. Back the low-on-comedy/high-on-characterisation level Series 8: ah, much better. Though still unable to top any of series 3-6 The US were considering making their own version but they did a horrid job. (I have the un-released US pilot.) Yeah, seen it. Its not bad, its just not good. Quote
Siegfried Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 No, its more series thats variable not episode. Well, it has been a while since I watched the whole show so I can't remember exactly what I liked and disliked. Kryton was one of my favourite characters and he appeared later so maybe agree after all. Quote
Hinckley Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 .. didn't bother to actually read the whole thread just to see.. ;-) ) You may want to read the whole thread, you're missing all the excitement! X-D I aim to please! X-D Look at all the merriment and positivity in this thread, and much of it is still Lego related. >:-( merriment? This is serious, mister. There's a competition brewing and a bucket at stake! ;-) I thought of starting a thread for our little build-off but why jump the gun? The excitement starts in 2 weeks (less than!) I'll let SW4J start the thread then... *y* Best of luck Mister Walrus! After all the negativity here lately over certain unspeakable issues, what could be better? *wub* :-) True! CaptainTau and Sinner: I've added Red Dwarf to my netflix cue. >:-( it'd better be good... Holodoc Check this out: Ha! And it only took me three days. :-$ I had to keep putting it down because it was making me angry. I don't recommend 7876 for this challeng because it is very fragile. Every time I move the bag it comes apart. The cement mixer itself is very lightly attached. Then again, perhaps I built it wrong, I didn't have the instructions. They actually got stuck between two plates at one point. 8- Quote
captaintau Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Kryton was one of my favourite characters and he appeared later so maybe agree after all. Kryten's first appearance was in the episode "Kryten", series 2, episode 1. Then, he was played by David Ross in one-off episode. He has been in every episode since episode 1 of series 2 ("Backwards") when Robert Llewellyn took the role. He was also in the pilot episode of the American version, the only British cast member to continue their role in the American version. CaptainTau and Sinner:I've added Red Dwarf to my netflix cue. >:-( it'd better be good... If you watch them in order (which I recommend), it'll take you a while to get into it. But when you get to Polymorph, it'll be SO worth it. You'll thank us. Quote
Hinckley Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 You'll thank us. ;-) I thank you already... :-$ Quote
CopMike Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Built another one - not that hard though ;-) : Breakfast set #7178 I Quote
Holodoc Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Built another one - not that hard though ;-) :Baglady -man On Very impressive! :-P How long did it take you to build? :-D Quote
Poomerio Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 I should, hopefully, be able to start some bag building fun when my next LEGO shipment comes in. I'll try and make the Prisoner Transport (if it comes in one bag, but I doubt that). Maybe I'll building it even if it isn't in one bag :-P - Poomie Quote
TwistedDreams Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Megablocks you Sinner! Megablocks you! And I don't mean megablocks I mean eff-you-see-kay megablocks!I saw your damn thread and read it and thought "That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen! Who would want to build a set in a bag? Why would someone be so dumb?" And I laughed and I surfed away from your silly post, but then the word challenge kept ringing in my head and I said "But I don't have any racers around." Then I saw it...a turkey in a polybag, unopened and normally therefore unassembled. So I picked it up and thought "How would you get two pieces together?" So, I tried it and it was aggravatingly difficult for me. I thought again "This is stupid! Who would want to do this?" Then an image of your stupid walrus head starting floating around my head saying "challenge...challenge...challenge" and I said "I'll show him!" Really, I have a lot in common with a bull that way. Thank you testosterone for making me such an idiot. Anyway, 10 minutes? pfff...that's nothing. It took me 25! Oh, is less time better? Well, this about drove me to drink, all those little plates, my big clunky fingers and there was a plastic bag in the way! Not to mention the instructions were still in the bag and kept getting in the way...and all the while that stupid walrus head floating around taunting me *sing* ! So, without further ado, here's my turkey in a bag! If you were here, Sinner, I'd shove it in your face! But since you're not: Megablocks you female canine! (See? This is why my friends beat on me...I'm short and I'm this much of an aggressive smartass in real life...) Ha ha! I've bested your silly challenge! What else you got? Bring it on... :-P :-P :-P Lmfao. That was probably the best reading-spent time ever. Very nice. -TD X-D Quote
