Dennimator Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 ALL OF THEM I.E. all the daily mirror sets given away ( if you live in the UK. I have already done that with my DM sets, but you can´t build all of them. The helicopter doesn´t fit in the bag, sadly. (Sorry, I can´t post a pic on the others, because I did open the bags shortly afterwards because I needed the pieces.) Quote
Holodoc Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Done with my biggest and longest bag build ever! Don´t ask me about day 20. Those darn cones! And today wasn´t easy neither. Get the jesters hat out of its bag - in the bag. But I made it! Quote

Quarryman Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Reviving an old thread here (but it's great stuff in here, so everyone should read it anyway ) Obviously the next step after building a set in bag would be to attach the stickers while it's in the bag, like this: (admittedly not built by me, though I built the same set and attached the stickers at that same party, (Brikkelauget's annual assembly back in June) but I never got around to taking a picture of it, so I'm borrowing a picture from Matija ) Of course a requirement for doing this is that the DSS is outside the bag, but that's true for Racers at least. Commander Flash Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Roll up the sticker and push it through the holes, there you go ( I think ) Anyways, very neat little challenge Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Thanks for reviving this. I might try this some time. Quote
prateek Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Thanks for reviving this. I might try this some time. Me too, but first I need to get my hands on an impulse, most likely a SPIII or the BBQ stand Quote
CP5670 Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Roll up the sticker and push it through the holes, there you go ( I think )Anyways, very neat little challenge That would take some serious skill if that's actually what he did. Those holes are tiny, and you need to somehow unwind the stickers again once they're inside. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 3, 2009 Author Posted August 3, 2009 Done with my biggest and longest bag build ever! Errr... sorry for not replying to this last year. I saw it but considering the date I was rather busy. It's very impressive work! Reviving an old thread here (but it's great stuff in here, so everyone should read it anyway )Obviously the next step after building a set in bag would be to attach the stickers while it's in the bag, like this: This is actually one of my favourite topic! When I made it I planned on making it my last one too... anyway that's quite stunning. How is it done? Quote
Oky Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 Roll up the sticker and push it through the holes, there you go ( I think ) I don't think that's possible. You would have to roll up the stickers to do that, and it would be (nearly) impossible to get them unrolled again inside the bag, as CP5670 pointed out. This must be a fake somehow. Anyway, nice to see this topic again. I was thinking about bag-building some of my Castle advent calendar sets too, but got lazy and didn't bother to. Bag-building still remains a nice challenge though. Quote
Millacol88 Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I remember this thread! I might buy an impulse or two and see how well I fare! Quote
posades Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I'm not really seeing the point of bag building other than to say you did it, which I guess is a point in and of itself. I commend anyone who's done it, but I don't think I'll waste my time try my hand at it. Quote

But Quarryman said he got it from Matija who is an ambassador so I don't think he would make a fake Quote
______ Posted August 4, 2009 Posted August 4, 2009 I bought a racer set once just to do this, no pictures sadly. Quote
Quarryman Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 anyway that's quite stunning. How is it done? Like this: Roll up the sticker and push it through the holes, there you go ( I think )Anyways, very neat little challenge Exactly. Getting them unrolled on the inside is quite difficult and an exercise in patience, but it's possible. I don't think that's possible. You would have to roll up the stickers to do that, and it would be (nearly) impossible to get them unrolled again inside the bag, as CP5670 pointed out. This must be a fake somehow. No, it's not a fake, Matija did it, I did it, it's quite possible. (Matija was cheating though, he was sober ) See comment above. Quote
fallentomato Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I did this last year. It's mean to do it to a set with a minifig in it because then they can't breathe! But I'm just twisted like that Quote
jonwil Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I have thus far done it with every impulse set in the line except the Space Police III ones since I havent been able to find a local store with stock yet. Quote
ILikePi Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 (edited) Ahh, I should have tried this with my BBQ Stand set! Oh well, I'll attempt to do this to my Space Police impulse sets tomorrow. Edited August 5, 2009 by ILikePi Quote
Brickvergnugen Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 Glad the thread was resurrected, the is new to me. Why on earth I want to try doing this is puzzling, but I'm really kicking myself now having already opened my Squidman Escape!! Quote

ILikePi Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I just bag-build 8399 K-9 Bot a few hours ago, and it was pretty fun. It took me around 10-15 minutes. Sorry about the under-par pictures; these were taken in my room. The minifig took me around 2 minutes... and the K-9 bot took me around 5 minutes, since the bag was so cramped. In this build, I forgot to put the air tank on the minifig, and I reversed one of the legs on the dog. Overall, it was a great experience, and I will definitely do this for all impulse sets I get in the future. Next up: Space Speeder! I'm really kicking myself now having already opened my Squidman Escape!!But Squidman Escape has two bags, so you can't do it anyways. Quote
______ Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 i suppose you can make parts of sets with numbered bags (i.e dozer) just it will be a it hard with the parts already in the box (you know not in a bag). Imagine the joy of opening those annoying bags with holes in them inside a numbered bag ! Quote

Imagine the joy of opening those annoying bags with holes in them inside a numbered bag ! I was just thinking about this. I may have to try doing this with parts of a larger set. For instance I have an unopened Crab Crusher - the Crab is probably in it's own bag... Edited August 5, 2009 by fallentomato Quote
Brickvergnugen Posted August 6, 2009 Posted August 6, 2009 But Squidman Escape has two bags, so you can't do it anyways. Did it? Guess that means it's okay now to go pickup a real 'one bagger', for scientific purposes, of course. Quote
