Saberwing40k Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 It looks brilliant, spot on to the real thing. Although, I think the turn signals should be different. Maybe you could use some transparent tiles instead of the orange liftarms? Quote

Thanks the advice Edited January 27, 2015 by Eraman Quote
aminnich Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Cant wait to see the functionality of your moc Quote
Mowikan Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Very nice build! cant wait till it is ready! Quote
Nazgarot Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 This is suddenly a lot more interesting! Thanks for the pics. It's looking really good, specially from a technical perspective. It may be a bit slow if I see the gearing correct. Have you tested the speed of it? Is there a possibility to see a pic without the side panels on the frame? -ED- Quote
N-4K0 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Very nice MOC, looks spot on from the real thing. Quote
Eraman Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) thank you all! This is suddenly a lot more interesting! Thanks for the pics. (but do not show much more) I think the speed not too fast, but it is enough for me. This is my first big and complex creation, so please be forgiving with me Edited January 28, 2015 by Eraman Quote
mdbz Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 With more and more pics, it's better and better. When can we see the finished model ? Quote
Eraman Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 I hope i can finish it at weekend (i'm waiting for the last order from bricklink today), maybe on sunday or monday i present photos the whole truck, and the next weekend i try to upload a cutted video. Quote
Eraman Posted January 30, 2015 Author Posted January 30, 2015 Maybe a more important detail, i didn't use pneumatic system, i use only LAs... Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 That is a fantastic truck you have built, you got all the proportions and details right. I'm amazed at how low this truck is to the ground. Quote

I'm amazed at how low this truck is to the ground. Thank you, it is very low, maybe a bit lower, than the real one, but i needed every space to build a massive structure. At my first attempt the base was 3 studs thick under the cabin, but the nose of the vehicle was bent very much ... so it was necessary to thicker the chassis in the front. I cannot go upwards, because the floor of the cabin is very low, so i needed to go downwards. After all the chassis under the cabin become 5 studs thick , it becomes enough rigid. Eraman Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Hi all! Here are some pics about my finished truck, more pics maybe tomorrow, video at weekend: Quote
Jockos Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Wow! What a great Moc! Isn't the rear a bit heavy? Does it touch the ground? Edited February 4, 2015 by Jockos Quote
Eraman Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Wow! What a great Moc! Isn't the rear a bit heavy? Does it touch the ground? Yes, it is heavy, the LAs lift it very difficult but it works. It doesn't touch the ground. I took the photos on a sofa, it is soft so it touches it, but on flat floor everything is OK!:) (otherwise my main aim was to built this vehicle only with LA-s, not pneumatic, and it is managed, i'm glad with the finished work yet if it is not too perfect ) Edited February 4, 2015 by Eraman Quote
Omikron Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Why panels on the body are inverted inwards? Quote
Milan Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Why panels on the body are inverted inwards? Probably to get that garbage truck texture: Quote
Graydingo Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 This is definitely one of my favorites so far! Great use of LA's. Quote
DrJB Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) Why panels on the body are inverted inwards? The garbage container is typically made of sheet metal and is smooth on the inside. This is done to enable the garbage to be compacted. Those ribs you see on the outside are stiffening beams for the sheet-metal construction. The author simply wanted to replicate the looks/functionality. Edited February 4, 2015 by DrJB Quote
Omikron Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) But it just didn't work on this moc. Since there is no "ribs" those panels look weird. Edited February 4, 2015 by Omikron Quote
Rishab N Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Awesome! IMO I think the garbage container looks a bit long, but I don't know much about garbage trucks so maybe its accurate Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I really like the cab, but the part behind the rear wheels is at least 5 studs too long - couldn't you make it shorter?Looking forward to the video ;-) Quote
Saberwing40k Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I like it, but I agree about the very rear section behind the rear wheels. Also, the orange liftarms as turn signals are really distracting, maybe you could use some Plate,1x2 modified with pin hole, and some translucent orange tiles. I say use this because no other type of mount will fit in that kind of space. Quote
