Is Ninjago a Kingdom? Does it have Knights?

No. And it had dune buggies. So ninjago is not a castle theme. Ninja was a castle theme though. Right? I'm saying this is to castle as ninjago is to ninja.

Finally got to see the images. There is a lot here for me. I don't concern myself with the sets and theme idea, but the parts will fill a lot of my building needs. Some stuff will be shifted to my sci-fi building, which I may finally get around to.

I am a little disappointed that the robo horse isn't anything close to Fess, but I will get over it.

That just starts another argument. In my opinion, Ninja is not a Castle theme. It's a historical theme. Like Vikings. And Western.

Lego refers to this theme as a Castle theme. They never said that Ninjago was a Historical theme.

And that doesn't sound like a Castle theme to you?

Only those 2 words, but those could be in an Action theme as well.

Where do they refer to it as a Castle theme?

I just took a close look at the launcher on Clay's Rumble Blade (what it's called in the image) and it appears that the shields are actually two pieces. There seems to be a dark blue version of the trans-orange pieces on the shields on the top of the launcher. Now I must buy it.

I love how the Chaos Chariot has so much character, but unfortunately the black Technic assembly is a tad distracting. Curious as to how this appears in the TV series...

The Robo-horse is a bit of a let down, but I'm hoping that central wheel indicates a really cool transforming feature...

I missed them referring to this as a castle theme. Where did they do that?

Yeah.. Unless there's more than three images, where did it say it was a Castle theme? Not in the bottom text, that's for sure...

Lego refers to this theme as a Castle theme.

Where? Saying it has knights and a kingdoms doesn't prove anything about LEGO's classification of theme. I don't even believe that LEGO considers things "castle themes" or not, I think there is CASTLE â„¢ and that's it. Of course they consider coverage of different subject matter when creating new themes, but its a lot more complex than labeling things under the Castle umbrella. Fans decide to lump Kingdoms and KK into a "Castle" group but that's a totally different thing.

I really like the minifigures. I am going to get at least one of each of the sets. I'm not sure which sets that I'll get multiples of just yet, if any. That was always the great thing about non-named generic figures in previous castle themes was the fact that they worked so much better as army builders.

There is kingdom... with a king, knights, wizards, jesters, spellbooks,...

What do you want? Big red letters saying "THIS IS A NEW CASTLE THEME"

It just has a (huge) sci-fi factor in the equation

I you don't agree about this, it's ok. We don't have to agree about everything :classic:

But we can't discuss about this anymore because the mods already told us no to talk about where this theme belongs to.

I personally think this is an action theme.

Have you guys seen Fortrex or Jestro's vehicle yet?

Only in your graphic description.

I hope the official pics will be out soon.

This. Nice post. :classic:

Haven't you?

So many things I don't like:

The Colors of the Knights Faction - Too much blue. Blue armor and helmets would have been better in Pearl Light Grey / Silver.

The Colors of the Evil Faction - For the most part, they are much better in color. I would have much preferred them to be Dark Red skinned rather than Red.

The Chaos Chariot - I really thought the Podracers in Star Wars were lame, but this is an even worse design.

The Robo-Horse - It looks ridiculous. It's big and lanky. I wonder what the wheel underneath does. Maybe you roll it and it's legs move?

The Blade Cruiser / Rumble Blade - The idea of a knight in a suped-up car with blades all over it is silly to me. And it has too much blue.

The Battle Blaster / Disc Launcher - This type of set typically wouldn't appeal to me anyways.

The Fortrex - This is an absurd mobile fortress. A tank-castle. From what little I see now, too blue.

The Jestro Set - Looks laughably overdone, but maybe that's the point. Too much going on.

The Little Robot Guys - They look like really primitive builds.

The Little Evil Minions - These guys look terrible.

The Armor, Shields, and Weapons - The weapons are strange and bulky. The idea of using the shields as hoverboards is very weird, and the bright colors are off-putting. The giant shields on the chests of the armor look awkward. The armor is very bulky and sci-fi looking.

The Idea that this could be a Castle theme - It really should be in Action Adventure, since it's a Big Bang theme and that is where those themes reside.

There are things I like:

Beast Master - He looks like he might have a cool Dark Red headpiece.

Pyramid Brick - That could be useful.

Visors - The dumb little robots have the classic visor. I hope that's in a Pearl Grey color. The other visors, it's hard to see, but I hold out hope they could be useful.

Macy - It looks like her plume could be cool. Maybe it's her hair, though?

Knight Minifigures - It's hard to tell under that bulky armor, but it looks like the torsos and legs might be decent designs.

Enemy Minifigures - The torso on the enemy in Clay's set looks like it could be decent.

Jestro - This minifigure actually looks like he might be pretty cool. Lipstick is a bit much, but the idea of a crazy evil jester isn't bad.

Crossbow - This might be a nice, handy weapon.

Evil colors - Lots of Black and Brown. Interesting Lava Rocks. Maybe some Dark Red.

The Background Image - This looks like a nice setting. The castle looks a bit futuristic still, but overall the scenery is nicely done.

So, overall, I think there's a lot of horrible stuff going on. But, there are some saving graces, bits and pieces that might be useful or worth picking up either in a cheap set or in the secondary market.

Still, this is certainly more of a Big Bang Action theme like Ninjago and Chima, and as such I think it belongs in the Action section far more than in the Castle section. I can't wait for information about the next Castle theme.

From what I've seen, the crossbow looks like the same outer part as the one in Star Wars, just the interior shooter piece is different.

That could be cool. I like the idea of having a few different crossbow designs.

I do think Chewbacca has the better design, though.

Yeah, there appear to be two different kinds of crossbows, AND a new mini spring shooter

You'll probably be waiting a while for that. I think the idea of having space knights builds on the idea of Ninjago where kids are allowed to attach them with a character with different powers and weapons. I think it'll be big for a bit and then die off within 2 or 3 years. But everythig I've seen so far I love.

Also the fact that you are basing everything you dislike about the sets off of previous castle themes seems a bit harsh. We all know you don't like this theme, so there is really no reason to stay in the thread if all you're going to do is pollute it with your dislike and wants for a new historically correct castle theme.

I don't think this is a Castle theme as far as TLG is concerned. When LEGO puts these up at Shop@Home I very much doubt it will be under the Castle listing, but probably it's own.

Though it would be interesting if that weren't the case!

Yes he has it in dark blue/ dark purple, but I believe it to be a placeholder.

Thanks for the info Itaria No Shintaku. One more question. Is Knighton a name or a title for a futuristic knight?

Looks good-ish? shields looks awesome though! Sets look a litte... Horrid? and that big guys arms? is that normal...

BTW Spot on drawings Sci, really captured everything well

Lego refers to this theme as a Castle theme. They never said that Ninjago was a Historical theme.

And where might that be? If you refer to the text on the catalogue, those sentences hardly prove this to be a Castle theme. This theme is more of a successor of Chima than anything else. So, from the look of the sets, I also think it'll be listed as an Action theme.

Also, I like the new 1x1 pyramid slopes. But still, I'm dissapointed that they didn't make a new mace as a minifigure weapon(not brick built).

I don't really care about historical accuracy. Majisto and Dragons are some of my favorite things in Castle themes. I'm not really basing my dislikes off of previous themes. I'm basing them off of the designs I've seen for Nexo Knights. That may be influenced by my particular tastes, in that I prefer to build medieval fantasy settings, but I'm also a huge fan of Star Wars (which is a sci-fi fantasy blend done well). I'm free to express my opinions.

Also, you might notice that I included things I liked about Nexo Knights. I wasn't just being one-sided about this, I was looking for a silver lining in this fecal tempest.
