They're ears, I'm pretty sure, but yeah it's the horn/tooth piece. They appear to be a lot droopier on the promo art though, maybe they're making a new piece? Probably not, though.

Bear in mind all the set photos are probably still preliminary. They might not reflect the full range of minifigure variety that the final theme will have. It's possible the key visual from the cover reflects a more finished version of the same figs.

It seems the set is called Merlok's Library 2.0

It's interesting, this theme for the most part is relatively cheap. I like it! Doesn't look like the Library will be very big if it's only 24.99 . Very excited for this theme overall!

I wasn't fast enough to get the smaller sets, but we already knew those prices

It's a shame he doesn't have the new wizard hat. Oh well, I guess that means the king might not have the S13 king' crown/hair mold.

Same, I saved the picture of merlock. If he's purely gold, that would make an amazing minifigure. Personally, he's becoming my favorite minifigure of 2016.
