Did anyone else realize that Lance's lance looks like it is using the spring loaded shooter piece?

It's possible, but to me it looks more like the classic antenna.

On that note, I wonder... are we absolutely sure that these sets use Trans. Fluor. Reddish Orange for the knights? The teaser pic makes the "laser" weapons look far more yellowish than that color would, as if they're Trans. Bright Orange or even an opaque shade of yellow instead. I know this is a painted artwork rather than a picture of the actual sets, limiting how much we can glean from it, and I'd be happy whichever color it wound up being, but it's definitely something to consider.

Also someone on thebrickfan's description article of the sets that the official photos will be released at NYCC. Does anyone know if this is true?

While we don't that for sure, I'd say it's very likely

I'm actually expecting it to happen

Hmm...just looked at the Brick Fan's article and the comments section and I can't find any mention of a possible NYCC reveal in either the article or the comments. Given Lego's tendency for extreme levels of secrecy, I would set my expectations very low for a NYCC reveal given what little they "revealed" at SDCC in July which consisted of what, 2 sets that were already revealed before the event.

But...and this is a big but...if Nexo Knights is releasing in January NYCC would be a good time/event to reveal it and maybe show off a set or two. Lego has a booth at NYCC and it wouldn't make sense to bring in "old 2015" sets to display. Also, with Ninjago having a presence and even a panel at SDCC, Lego might look at the success of that event as an opportunity to try and launch its next "Big Bang" theme at NYCC. Along these lines, by revealing them at NYCC, they can get the jump on internet leaks and control the reveal and the flow of information.

Right now, I'm 75% for no reveal, 20% for us getting "something" (which would consist of an acknowledgement that the theme exists :hmpf_bad: along with maybe the poster shown on the magazine and here on the board) and 5% for a more detailed reveal with a few sets shown.

If someone can find the comment about the NYCC reveal, please let me/us know via a link or copy/paste here. Maybe it got erased or maybe I just missed it....?

I don't know I'm hoping that it's true and the person who said it has a source. I don't think he would say it without some kind of knowledge or maybe I'm just too trusting of a guy. Edited by Capt Winters

There is no source for that. It's a guess.

But Nexo Knights is supposed to a "big bang" theme with a TV show, so a ComicCon sounds like the right event for the official presentation of the theme

The official release date is January, so middle october is a good date for starting the promotion of the new line. They did it with BIONICLE last year

Actually, I'd surprised if it doesn't happen especially considering that they already released that official artwork in the LEGO magazine

Thanks BrickJagger! I was looking at the more recent post, so I totally missed the one from earlier in September. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Yeah, it's kind of coming together that way isn't it? Hopefully, Lego issues a press release this week about NYCC and what they are going to be doing there which will hopefully give us an indication of whether or not we get more Nexo Knights (or other themes, Ninjago would make sense for that venue) information. Did Lego do a press release last year and did they reveal all of the Bionicle sets at NYCC 2014?

My guess is that NYCC is too soon for all the set reveals. LEGO designers are under an embargo until Nov 15 or Dec 1. I don't think we will get official set images until then.

However we might see one set officially revealed there.

Bionicle was revealed last year at NYCC and if I'm correct they showed a teaser trailer and all the sets displayed. I'm not saying they're going to have all the nexo knights sets displayed, but they should have some there. We'll probably see a trailer for the cartoon network series.

I'm a bit unsure about the prospects of an NYCC reveal. Most of the themes LEGO reveals at Comic Con type events tend to be themes that already have appeal with an audience, ideally an all-ages audience. For instance, the Super Heroes and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themes were both revealed at Comic Con, because there are people of all ages who are familiar with and fond of the brands in question, even if each instance was the theme's first time being depicted in LEGO. Likewise, Bionicle is a brand that a lot of people grew up with, so LEGO could expect at least some of their NYCC audience that year to be receptive to the news of a Bionicle reboot. While it was effectively a "new" theme in terms of one that had been absent from LEGO's slate for several years, it was not something nobody but AFOLs who keep up with every leak and teaser had ever heard of.

But the situation with Nexo Knights this year is more like the situation with Ninjago in 2010 or Legends of Chima in 2012. It isn't tied to a specific brand people are already familiar with, although it takes some cues from various 80s cartoons. And whenever it does debut, I think it will take some time for adults to warm up to it. So I don't know that revealing it to mostly adult pop culture enthusiasts at an event like NYCC makes a whole lot of sense. More realistically, I think we can expect a magazine teaser (which we've already seen in Australia, and will probably see in other countries by November) and perhaps a teaser site on LEGO.com.

I dunno, maybe LEGO will surprise me and reveal Nexo Knights at NYCC. But it seems to me like the kind of thing that wouldn't be represented at these events until it's already been released and had time to gather an audience of its own, rather than something where they can count on nostalgic adults and teens getting excited as soon as they first hear the name.

About NYCC; it is likely that the big reveal there will be Dr. Who, as the Lego, Lego Ideas, and Dr. Who Facebook pages have an image of the TARDIS in Lego, and include the phrase "Landing soon..."

For Nexo Knights; as this is a completely new TV show, along with the sets, there may be something with Cartoon Network, but I doubt NYCC is the proper venue. Catalog ads and a commercial campaign is more likely. TV show promos could start some time in November.

I think it takes a lot of cues from Visionaries:

Except that in that scenario it's an advanced society where the tech has failed, and in Nexo Knights the tech seems alive and well.

Quick question: Were there already any pics of the Bull Knight in plastic, or all speculations about his design and such merely based on the promo image TLG officially revealed?

If I remember correctly, he will be exclusive to the Fortrex set (the big one) and that set wasn't on the two prelim catalog pages that most of us have seen.

So there are only two regular soldiers for the Nexos in the whole wave, and they are both in the cheapest sets?

Yep. If you want a Nexo Knight it will cost you some money

If you want to collect the Nexo Knight mini-figs, all but one (the bull knight - Axel?) are available in the Ultimate sets at a price point of around $10USD/$10Euro I believe.

And 1 of the Knights is included in each of the 2 small ($20USD/$20Euro) sets. So the actual distribution of the figures in the sets isn't too bad at all.

Hope to get some set details on the 2 retailer exclusives (Merlock's Library, King's Mech) soon!

Aaron, Macy, and Clay are the Ultimates (We don't know yet if Robin is a Nexo Knight)

Lance and Axel will cost some money

I was talking about the regular soldiers, who are for some reason only seen in the two smallest sets. I'm fine with the way the knights themselves are distributed.
