8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The Brick Fan has them. Save them while you can! Quote
BrickOn Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The drawings were very good, ah well if they are gone, I guess they are imprinted in my brain somewhere... not entirely sure what i think of this new theme. Personally its not for me and I don't think I'll be getting any, but I am still very curious :-) Quote
msx80 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I think the problem is that the drawings were too specific, and close enough to leaking the actual pictures. If they were vague outlines, they might have been able to stay, but the detail was pushing it. As good as the drawing were (and they were great) i don't think they can be considered anyway near pictures of the actual sets. Anyway, i like the theme for what we could see. I don't see why so many people criticize it, maybe it's the wrong forum (as this is no "castle" at all), but looks like a nice imaginative theme to me, kids are gonna love it. It reminds me somewhat of He Man. I'll surely buy some of the sets. Looking forward for the actual pictures! Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) I think this is shaping up to be a very creative, fun, and cool theme. Since I'm a kid at heart, I love that. Unfortunately, that's not very appealing to many of us, and there's a lot of bitterness about a lack of a "proper" Castle theme. I love Castle, but it's not my only interest, and I'm willing to give LEGO a break. They clearly need one after the rather boring 2013 attempt, and I think this direction is fine. Honestly, their Castle themes have been repetitive since FE, and I'm glad to see these off-the-wall designs, since they're different for a change. I'm sure regular Castle will be kept alive in the CMFS and Juniors, but it might be a while until we see a proper historic Castle theme again. Edited September 17, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
thetang22 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hopefully the library won't be one wheels or legs too. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The library sounds very intriguing. We haven't seen a wizard's library before, and it could technically be any size. Quote
CaptainToad Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 On the other hand, but these are only my 2p, this theme is rubbish, maybe it will be good for some parts, but really... meh... It sure is rubbish! :) I have given it some thought but I cant seem any reason why Lego would believe this would be a big bang theme that is worth investing in. I mean c'mon, a castle on wheels? A flying castle - OK - but on wheels? I think they thought that chima and ninjago were so successful because they had vehicles - so a castle theme with vehicles might be good too. I just hope nobody is gonna buy it so that it can make room for some proper castle theme sets... Quote
BrickSev Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) Right now I don't know if I'm going to like the new theme or not but it surely sparks my interest and curiosity. It appears our expectations of a "new Fantasy era" theme are going to be disappointed but I see potential in this theme. However it seems more useful in a Sci-Fi or Superheroes context, for example, something like the New Gods from DC Comics Universe. I'll keep my eyes open for more info Hopefully we'll get some image soon EDIT: Typos corrected Edited September 17, 2015 by BrickSev Quote
Isundir Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Just saw the drawings, that looks ridiculous, something I'd dislike even when I was a child (it reminds me somehow of Time Cruisers, the sets I got as a child and absolutely hated ). I was staying optimistic and hoping for Ninjago quality which has a lot of things to salvage yet this looks so much closer to Chima which would mean maybe a few interesting minifig prints/bits at best. Really curious about the Library now, is it going to be a spaceship or a robotic dragon that stores books. Quote
ZCerberus Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Thank you guys for being acting like idiots and forcing my hand. We are discussing the policy in this area. Clearly some people think it is okay while others think it is not. That is why we are discussing it and seeking clarity. While that is pending, let's not tell people how else to get around the rule by where else they can find the images. We will figure it out. If they are smart, they will find without the advertisement. Listen guys, I let A LOT of discussions go a lot further than most moderators do, but when a situation comes up that needs discussion, I have to step in. Declaring I am wrong for doing it is not acceptable. Cool your jets. I have said that 900 times. This thread will be unlocked when we have something to say about it. Thank you. Quote
ZCerberus Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 For now, I am unlocking this thread, but I want to make this clear. 1. We are still discussing policy on producing illustrations of whatever nature from confidential images. 2. Because it is still pending, no discussion on whether or not we should allow illustrations created from confidential images or how to "work around" the rule. That is a staff decision and that is where it will be handled. 3. No arguments with any Mod on points 1 and 2 above... or anything else for that matter. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Understood, and thank you. I think we've seen enough now to continue civil discussion. Quote
CM4Sci Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 (edited) Alright, got it. Sorry about all of that. Will no longer be posting on this particular forum. Edited September 17, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
ReZourceman Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Sounds cool to me, but I quite liked Chima! :D Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hopefully this theme will get a beautiful D2C set, like the Temple of Airjitzu. Quote
x105Black Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 While this theme sucks out loud, I have to applaud Sci for the really wonderful drawings. This illustration style is lovely to look at, even if the subject matter makes me want to slam my genitals in a desk drawer. Best post in the thread. I just want to know when a new Castle theme will be released. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I just hope jestro has the series 12 jester's hat with patterns on the back. This is what he needs to be more unique. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Considering that his costume seems to be Two-Face style and not checkerboard patterned, it doesn't seem likely. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I will not share the pictures but I have new rilevant details. Tomorrow Quote
x105Black Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Is this an Action theme rather than Castle / Historical? It would seem that way. Do we think that this is different enough that they could run a Castle theme at the same time? I would think so. I hope that LEGO decides that both can carry on together, but I feel that they will hold out on a real Castle theme as long as this abomination is on shelves. So maybe this topic should only be updated with rumors about a 2016 Castle theme? Which, it would seem, will not be coming... Quote

Especially with how these Ultimate packs look (wow ) Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 No need to be so bitter. The title will be changed once it's made official. If you don't like this theme, then it seems rather pointless to remain here and express that opinion several times over. Quote

The mods are really touchy about that, and we don't want this topic locked again. Also, relax. There will almost certainly be a "real" Castle theme (A second one to the rest of us) during Nexo Knight's run, to cater to people like yourself. Quote
