8BrickMario Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Warning duly heeded. I'm usually the guy who forgets to save pics. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 My images are imgur, uploaded by me, so they won't be removed from here unless some mod decides to. For whatever reason. Hope they add the rest soon. Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What if they're just putting higher quality pictures? Normally pictures from Lego are of better quality than these. (really I'm just hoping that this is the case, but it probably isn't) Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) I was wondering, if that bigger castle, was maybe their spaceship, because it does kind of have the shape of a ship and based on the trailers, their in Medieval times, but their Technology is way to advance for that time period. P.S. I think Jestro might be the good guy, who became Evil to fight the invaders from space . Also Nabii I might disagree with you as far as this theme being Castle, but I do like a lot of the sets and I can tell you put a lot of though into them. Edited October 12, 2015 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Rayskull Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 If you look at the shape Fortrex has once it's opened and pay attention to the location on the small pin holes, it seems like the library, given its shape, could come "closing" the opened Fortrex structure. 100% correct sir the blue walls and the offset line up as well But that means it leaves the library when taking a trip. DuckBricks Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) I'm just waiting to see if Merlok gets a computer virus and turns evil. That guy basically controls all the tech. He just needs to find a way to get a physical form... Edited October 12, 2015 by legozebra Quote
Dr_Chronos Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I'm just waiting to see if Merlok gets a computer virus and turns evil. That guy basically controls all the tech. He just needs to find a way to get a physical form... I'm wondering if Merlock was an actual wizard at one point. If the original Merlock is still out there, what would happen if he returned? What if he had turned evil? What if Merlock 2.0 became corrupted. I'd love to see Merlock vs Merlock 2.0. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What if he became not only a physical person, but was all "glitchy" and stuff? That'd be cool. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I think it's an awful tease for LEGO to design a great figure, but to cop out and make it a hologram and thus not make it physical. I'd appreciate the real Merlok though. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Merlock obviously died, but maybe the king or robots programmed him into a library. I don't think he will become a physical minifigure in the series. It's a shame, I want my gold wizard minfigure. Quote
BrickJagger Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 I want my gold wizard minfigure. Which is exactly why Lego will make him for you. Quote
Dr_Chronos Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Merlock obviously died Maybe not "died", perhaps he just transferred his consciousness onto the digital plain. I would love to see a Merlock fig eventually. He's probably one of the best wizard designs I've seen. Quote
Ardelon Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 If it's not Castle, what is it? Sci-fi, science fantasy, castle punk, ... Quote
Rayskull Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 has anyone seen the ultimate versions? Sci-fi, science fantasy, castle punk, ... Lego's not going to go with those for themes. Quote
Robert8 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 The Ultimates are just the knights with brick-built stuff attached to the armor: Those have not been officially revealed yet Quote
Flipz Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) I'm not the only one here who can't stop thinking "Duke Exeter", right...? EDIT: Never mind, misread something in one of the comic-con pics and confused it with LU lore. The whole aesthetic still reminds me heavily of the Sentinel faction and LU. legoguy1984 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I'm liking this quite a bit. I share a lot of sentiments with the Castle guys but looking at this theme from a non-castle perspective and it is really good. Loving Clays Blade Cruiser, the Kings Mech and those horse-bikes. Face prints for the knights look great and the bad guys are totally bad-megablocks. Can't wait to see what the ultimate sets look like. Quote
kabel Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 If only the colors were somewhat decent the theme would be halfway acceptable to the History mocer in terms of parts usage. But holy Megablocks this stuff is causing eye cancer for sure! Quote
Shib Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 The same members who are trying to tell the designer of this Castle theme that it isn't a Castle theme, even though he says it is. In case I'm one of the people you're talking about, I was offing up an explanation as to why it's not being accepted by traditional Castle theme fans rather than trying to argue about what the theme is. If LEGO list it as Castle then that's obviously what they consider it, end of - the discussion about what forum it belongs in here is a completely different beast and one I have no interest in getting involved in. I think the Cyber Castle description Nabii offered up is pretty accurate, as he said it has Knights, castles, jester, wizard etc which would typically be associated with Castle themes, but it also has laser looking weapons, high tech armour, tanks, motorbikes and robots which are firmly Sci-fi, if you get one or the other of those lists you would put the theme in one of those categories, with both lists combined most people would call it a mash up type theme or use some mixed description like Cyber Castle (I like that one enough to stick with it) Just looking at the pictures of the books again, have we seen images of the insides of them? It looks to me like they contain a 1x2 tile, which I assume would have a revenant print on the inside...I'm also looking at that and thinking, could be books with computer screens in - Inspector Gadget comes screaming to mind as I think it. I might be won over on the theme, but it looks too Ninjago for me personally - I'm sure that the target audience will go mad for it, but for me it looks like a treasure trove of parts to be farmed...the shield fronts could be very useful for a number of things (I think that a black version is to be used in the upcoming BvS Batmobile) and the main shield part will be great for space/sci-fi builds. The tiny pyramid piece obviously could be very useful across a lot of themes, but I image they are going to be in surplus very quickly - considering that small parts like that usually get a lot of spares. I won't be at all surprised if Merlock does show up as a minifigure at some point...I'm actually imagining him as something of a Wizard of Oz type character, hiding somewhere just out of sight while projecting himself as a computer system etc - but there is a lot of ways they could go with the character. Quote
Borex Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Do we already know what this thing will cost? The bad guy looks like Dormammu (Marvel villain). The baddies in this theme all look good by the way. And i'm not gonna buy the lava pod racer but i think he's really funny. Quote

Can't seen to find the NYCC picture at the moment, but it showed a (printed?) 1x2 tile on the inside of the book that Jestro is holdING. It depicted a red dragon head I believe. Quote
Mandate Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 The same members who are trying to tell the designer of this Castle theme that it isn't a Castle theme, even though he says it is. I don't think you can really blame a lot of people for disagreeing with LEGO on the category they've put it in. While there is a wizard, and there most certainly are knights and robotic horses, you've also got to consider what else is in the theme. For an example, NINJAGO is not a castle theme, despite its predecessor (Ninja) being categorized as such. In NINJAGO's very first year, the only source of technology in the entire line was on the villain's side. Every instance of a "hero"-based set was either an oriental, Asian structure or a dragon. You would be hard pressed to find anyone that considered NINJAGO, even in its first year, a castle theme. Yet Nexo Knights, which is a far larger departure from the core ideas of a Castle theme, is somehow still a Castle theme. Which makes zero sense whatsoever, considering most (if not all) of the polybags are based on self-driven vehicles or mobile turrets, two out of main hero vehicle sets (three, if you include the robo-horse's transformation function) being heavily technology-based rather over a "medieval+" style like the Fortrex, and the remaining villain sets are so different you can't really argue the fine details of most of them regarding how much they fit in with even a fantasy view of medieval times. That's the problem with calling Nexo Knights a "Castle" theme. You have the hallmarks of a "medieval+" line, but at the same time it misses the point of a style like that by 5 miles when you give the heroes giant cars, stationary turrets and big hulking Mech suits. A great example of a "medieval+" style would be TLM's Castle Cavalry, where the futuristic vehicle in the set did not depart from a historically based art style. Nexo Knights does this very well in sets such as the Fortrex, but when you know there's going to be more giant cars in the future of this line than stuff based even remotely on history I don't think I can fault people for wanting to distance this from the traditional Castle sets.
