Exetrius Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I would be terribly disappointed if the shields turned out to be stickered Some of the designs (Dragonzzz!) look really darn cool, and I'd like to keep them that way over time! Keep in mind that the Ninjago spinners and spinner crowns were also printed and that there were a lot of them. Let's hope this applies for NK too... Quote
TPLSTER21 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 The Ultimate sets are...interesting. They are like minifig sized mech suits. From what I can tell, you get the minfig (exclusive deco) with the add on pieces and weapons that form the mini mech suits, a stand that has a spare weapon and a shield. Can't see if the stand has anything else on it or if it interacts with the fig in any way. Looks like the piece count will be around 70-80. For $10 they look like decent value from a playability standpoint. Robin and Beastmaster look like the weakest of the bunch with all of the others looking good to me. Quote

Stands have weapon holders, a stand, some accessories, (TFA blaster, lighting, vines, treasure chest, crossbow, crate, etc ) Each set also has 3 exclusive shields, so that's 18 unique shields in just the Ultimate sets alone. Lind Whisperer Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Certainly looks like it . . . They're definitely stickers, at least one - look at the Trans-Yellow shield. (Also, new Trans-Yellow piece! ) The top of the print is too far to the right to be a misprint - that can only be a misplaced sticker. Quote

Rayskull Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I can see why they went the sticker route, there's just too many. I think they still look great, and besides you'll be able to use the part for more things. Quote
Kalhiki Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Stickers... Kinda sad, but look on the bright side: Lots of possible shield/sticker combos. Quote
Aanchir Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) I'm still not entirely sure the shields will be stickered. Bear in mind the high-resolution Fortrex pic we've seen is still somewhat preliminary — it doesn't have all the stickers on the towers, for instance. I don't particularly care either way. I like stickers. I think printing might be more practical for things like an "activity book with minifigure", though... I don't know a lot of those that have included a sticker sheet. For all we know, it could even be a situation where some shields use stickers and others use printing. The interview I watched earlier revealed that the app can scan shields from books, TV, or the web just as easily as from sets, so there isn't some material property that's integral to their functionality like there was for the Ultra Agents "app bricks". Robert8 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Certainly looks like it . . . Someone in LEGO needs to improve his/her skills with the stickers Quote
BrickFit26 Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Ahhhh man, they do looks like stickers at closer inspection. I also zoomed in on the book, and it kind of looks like it a sticker too, but i'm not too sure Quote
CM4Sci Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Can anybody fill in the details here: Someone made a remake, I asked if they could post how they did it but they never replied. Quote
Rayskull Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Someone made a remake, I asked if they could post how they did it but they never replied. Yeah, I thought maybe someone else might give it a go. I have no idea what you do to the moto faring to get it to connect to everything else. Thinking about how to make a transforming tower. Quote
Lyichir Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) Can anybody fill in the details here: Can't build the whole thing for you right now, but here's a hint: I think the motorcycle chassis connects to part 99021. EDIT: Never mind, I got it. It doesn't all go together well on LDD, but I think this should give you a good idea of how it seems to be built. Some of the side panels have been hidden for clarity. gedren_y Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 For the printing/sticker debate; some early displays of upcoming sets have had stickers in place of printing when the production part isn't available. Given that the production parts are supposed to be recognized by an app, it is entirely plausible that the printed parts were not available yet. If you look closely at the hi-res image of the Jestro set you can see that it has a mistake that proves it is just an image of the display set with the background whited out. Quote

Oh, that is a bit of a relief and something to keep my hopes up. Stickered shield pieces should stay a taboo, imo! It would probably more convenient for the books to be stickered, though. Quote

Dr_Chronos Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (Mini-Fortrex) I was just about to post that. Anyway, I really like it. I hope it's not too hard to obtain. Quote

Just curious as to where the image was found as this looks like an in-hand pic. Also, it's the second in-hand photo of an upcoming KN set in less than a week. Quote

TPLSTER21 Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Brickset Thanks! I guess that this is another bag that "went missing" from Lego's European manufacturing facility. Since there are 4 polybags slated for release next year, I'm guessing that this one and the motorcycle will be available when the line launches (given the timing of the leaks) with the other 2 following later in 2016. ChristopheQ Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) For 2017, after a tank-castle, a 120$ mecha-castle (mecastle ?) would be nice. Hoping for the good guies to change colors. Some inspiration : http://www.siegeworl..._serialNumber=2 And by the ways guys, what's are you plans with NK sets/minifigs/pieces ? Me, I really like the idea to have one HQ vehicle, like the UA Ocean HQ. So I will probably buy 90% of the sets, but only make two vehicles with wawe 1 (and possibly 2). One Fortrex, probably taller and wider to fit a stables/mechanic workshop (for the 5 horses ?), a mini dormitory, a small kitchen, a arms room (with my favorite shields, and the ultimate armors inside ? I know they are probably just their normal armor upgrading, but would be nice to have them somewhere, with trans head...) . A prison cell where I will put the second Jestro Lego will probably make me buy in some set of the second wawe... And maybe a mini library to fit my book collections if there is no super cool castle coming with the second wawe. I will try to add a dongeon on the center/back of the Fortrex starting from the second floor, splitable on the center, so when the castle open it become 2 lateral towers... And for the bad guys a 3 times higher evile mobile, siege tower style. Edited November 9, 2015 by ChristopheQ Quote

Integrating mostly the bad guy stuff into Nocty GoH builds Not sure what to do with the knights, though. You've got a pretty cool plan I must say! Reminds a bit of the activitiesin a Sandcrawler.
