That isn't the half of it. My 5 yo wrote his letter to Santa and this is all he wanted. He's over the moon excited for something he can't get for Xmas. My own fault for showing him the teaser site I guess.

I still haven't figured out a way to explain to him that elves will be unable to make his toy before January, even though it already exists in his eyes. The joys of parenting. :(

Regardless, it's great marketing by Lego, but poorly timed for me. A January media blitz followed by Feb release would have been more helpful.

Tell him that Santa died and the toys will be delivered in January, after the funeral

Just say sadly Lego asked Santa to stick to the release dates due to the brick shortage....or something.

Also just seen the new Chima mag and on the last page it shows Nexo Knights mag coming soon, maybe the lil blue knight might be one of the mag exclusives.

So, I asked Huw at Brickset about the status of the Nexo Knights set reviews and if he could confirm which sets he had.

Huw got back to me right away (really good customer service on his part) and advised me that he has "a couple of polys" and that they plan to review them "in the next day or so".

So, I guess that puts the "Lego is banning reviews" discussion to rest. Given what we know, I'm assuming the 2 sets he has are the Knight Cycle and Robin's Mini Fortrex as those were, I believe, the "in hand" photos on Brickset's database.

So, thanks to Huw for clearing all of that up! Looking forward to the reviews.

Maybe give him a Lego gift card "From Santa" and say it's so he can pick out the one/s he wanted in case he changed his mind.

Ah, that's good news, looking forward to them! Also, you took the time to actively ask for information, I believe you have done this more than once and I want to thank you for that :classic:

Thanks for the advice (well most of it... "He said Santa died" sounds like a future therapy session). I'm not overly concerned tbh; he is 5 after all and will be happy regardless. But like any dad, I hate to disappoint my kids.

And I do understand Lego marketing's need to create product demand prior to release. The timing has simply made my life... inconvenient. But a First World problem really.

On the bright side, I came up with my own solution over lunch. I am going put together a 'special Nk mini' using a Black Falcon and my space collection. Necessity is the mother of invention and all that. :)

Reading this thread I was going to suggest something like that, but then I saw that you figured it out! Perhaps Santa made a special Nexo-Knight, just for him. :classic:

Thanks for asking. I hope he does the Knight Cycle first. :classic:

While scrolling through my saved photos, I came across this guy:

And I came to the conclusion that he does not come in any of the sets we know of. Could he be the promotioal fig or maybe one for summer 2016?

Hate to change the direction this thread has been going, but does this guy have a hole in his armor? I guess that's what easiest for Lego.... just print the symbols on the minifigures, then put a hole in the armor to avoid having to print the symbols a second time on the armor.

"Macy Halbert", is there some pun I don't know about?.

A halberd is a medieval weapon.

Yes, the Nexo Knights armor has a hole in the chest, and all of the minifigures who use it have unique insignias that show through.

Kind of makes me wonder if there are any other medieval or sci-fi armor pieces with insignias that the hole in the armor would line up with. :classic: For more historical figs, Ultimate Robin has the armor in plain Silver Metallic (without the Tr. Flu. Reddish Orange on the shoulderpads). The shape might not be 100% historically authentic, but at the same time, neither are a lot of the armor pieces from Lord of the Rings and Fantasy-Era Castle, and that doesn't stop people using them on medieval fantasy figs.

I hope they will fit on Wolfpack torso!

If you're wondering about the Wolfpack logo showing through the hole in the armor, it won't. The older Castle minifigures with logos on their chests have larger logos that will not align with the hole.
