Rookie875 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I checked my local Target for any sets, all they had was Clays Rumble Blade. I didn't pick it up though, it honestly doesn't interest me that much. Quote
ChristopheQ Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) http://shop.lego.com...Listing=listing This playmat is actually pretty cool and comes with the two of the 'standard' knights' heraldry shields! thanks, look good indeed. I like there is a vertical background, not only a "carpet". You can play, but as well display your collection on a desk. On the lava side, on the left, it's probably the place for the wave 2 volcano castle, on the good guy side, in the top center you will put your Fortrex. Then maybe like lego Elf playmate, each zone could be for a set (but lego elf had few sets, NK a lot, i will probably just be some place they visit in the cartoon outside the castle). Seeing the (small) village make me hope for villagers, animals and maybe market cart ? but probably no proper buildings. Seeing the dark forest make me wish (without hope) for the mushroom lord, but if I remember correctly whiparella was display in the forest wasn't she ? and a (small) river and lake ? a (very) small aquatic vehicle pretty please... By the way it's strange there is no aquatic animal among the knights. Robin could have been a frog or a fish. wich can start tiny then grown up... as oppose to his chicken which give him few chance to meet a great destiny ala Loyd... Even getting normal legs and becoming a proper chicken night in 2018 or 2019 would be strange... Robin staying a kid forever ? plus there is already a Falcon... Afraid to break it to you, but look at the other pictures—the shields are just printed on the playmat itself, one on each side. They can be scanned into the app, but it doesn't seem to actually include them as building elements. Quote

ChristopheQ Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Chickens are pretty vicious though. There's a reason they were the contestants in one of the most popular medieval "sports". True, didn't think of that. As a French I can only agree a rooster is a very legit heraldic symbol. But there will still be 2 birds within the team... A kitty becoming a classy and smart felid could maybe have been cute ? Interesting how they passed on the 2 typical heraldic symbol (lion and eagle), probably to avoid to much similarity with Chima ? or (retro) Castle Edited December 19, 2015 by ChristopheQ Quote
Aanchir Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Ultimate Clay looks rad. I get a bit of a MegaMan Battle Network/MegaMan NT Warrior vibe from Nexo Knights, and the glow effects on the "Ultimate" knights' armor and visors builds on that even further. It's good to see the color matching between those transparent sword blades and the transparent visor and armor is pretty on-point. It'd be nice if there were a little gear or something to make the "propellors" spin, but that might have made them too bulky. The force field add-on is also a little underwhelming. Thanks for the review! Quote
ChristopheQ Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) and this one ? did we post it ? the mech review : I will wait to see if the king appears in wave 2... Edited December 19, 2015 by ChristopheQ Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I found Chaos Catapult and Knighton Battle Blaster at a Barnes & Noble today! Would've bought all the Ultimate sets but they didn't have anything else so oh well. I can post pics if you guys want. Quote

Ah well, they will probably turn up in the sets eventually, so it's cool with me. Here's a look at the LEGO Nexo Knights Ultimate Clay set! Thanks for the review, I am most likely to pick this one up. Could you try if the visor attaches to a Samurai helmet (the Ninjago one)? Quote
Robert8 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 and this one ? did we post it ? the mech review : I will wait to see if the king appears in wave 2... Thank you! Finally! This is the best set from this wave for sure Quote
just2good Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 And, here's a look at Ultimate Macy: Oh, here's a closer look at the shields... Thanks for the review, I am most likely to pick this one up. Could you try if the visor attaches to a Samurai helmet (the Ninjago one)? Like, Samurai X's? Quote
Soupperson1 Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Nice review, the trans green studs are an unexpected inclusion :P Quote
ChristopheQ Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I love Macy faces. Thanks for the shields photos I like the pieces of the ultimate set, for mocs, but not convinced but unstable oversized back weapons and the lack of playability of the display. Is it me or the shields colours didn't contrast much, not too bright, probably the way they are print (compare to the flashy prelim). Quote
x105Black Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Instead of Jellybean Knights, these are Rock Candy Knights. The heads are nice and useful. I like Macy's Plume. Also, the shields could be useful. I'd want to get the solid colored shield pieces to fit into them, though. Thanks for posting all of these reviews and pictures, everyone! Quote
Aanchir Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Omigosh, the King's mech has a winding key in the back! Adorable! Ultimate Macy looks awesome! Love the colors! Her blaster is really cool, though it is pretty bulky. I like how Macy's weapons tend to be characterized by brute force rather than finesse, since often female characters in fiction (even ones who are really tough personality-wise) will be given lighter or more graceful-looking weapons. Instead of Jellybean Knights, these are Rock Candy Knights. Good one! You could probably use the shield tiles as shields without the more technological-looking back plate if you used a piece like this or this as a handle. Quote

Aanchir Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) Hey, I enjoyed Knights' Kingdom II and even I like the term Jellybean Knights. It's a cute and silly nickname. People who use it pejoratively could probably stand to be a little less serious about their own LEGO hobby. After all, when you get right down to it, we're all collecting toy building blocks and brightly-colored plastic smiley-face men! Edited December 19, 2015 by Aanchir Quote

BrickFit26 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 WOW! Ultimate Clay and Macy look great. I love how the translucent parts highlight all there'd and blue. Ultimate Clay looks way better than the regular Clay knight in Clay's Rumble blade. Quote

Nah I live on the west coast of Canada. Had 4/6 ultimates, robo horse set, and jestro's set. Didn't have much money since I had to buy presents for family so I got macy :D Edited December 20, 2015 by Zergos Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 If you look at Jang's reviews, you can see that the ultimate chest piece is a different mold. On the regular sets, the chest piece has only two studs, and the ultimate ones have four studs. Didn't expect that. Quote

That sure is odd... made a mold for that but couldn't make one of Jestro's new hat? Quote
Aanchir Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 The two smallest set armors have 4 studs. That sure is odd... made a mold for that but couldn't make one of Jestro's new hat? The show is based on the sets, not the other way around. Jestro presumably wouldn't have had any "new hat" until the creators of the show decided remove the pom-poms on the ends and make it flexible to reflect his mood. Even after his transformation, the points only point upwards when he's "being evil". When he says anything NOT particularly evil, they bend back down. Quote
