Also I once read Apple put new employees to work on "fake" projects just to see if they leak something. I don't know if it is just an "urban legend" but sometimes it can explain why we got leaks about things that never happened :classic:

If true, that would be funny, but it would make sense.

Apple wasting their money instead of making decent products would be terrifcly fitting. :D

Skeletons were done in Ninjago recently. Also POTC had some. If you include all the heads and bodies that are somehow skeletal, a well made skeleton army will easily be one with the most variety around. Therefore I hope that this will not be a new focus.

Just take it with a pinch of salt. I do think it's a sort of urban legend. Obviously "leaking" can harm a company's plans but keeping employees working on useless projects can harm even more and since Apple continues to earn a lot of money, I guess they don't harm themselves too much lol :classic:

A sort of "Ghost theme" should be the focus on the next Ninjago wave, if I recalls correctly. I even saw a nice ship (which could be used in historic settings as well) and "spectral dragons". It's nothing "top secret": I just saw the photos from the recent "toy fair" :classic:

I would enjoy a vikings theme ( though not as much as fantasy) but i find it unlikely right after this pirate theme. Only time will tell but with LOTR/Hobbit out of the way, I am sure I will be all over whatever they box up for us.

An updated Vikings series would be my preference as well. But as long as they include a helmet that works for Norman / Vikings I will be very pleased. I hunted down a lot of the Vikings sets from eBay, but outside of the two CMF, I don't like the torso prints. I would also want a correct helmet style for them.

A Vikings theme would be indeed very cool and interesting, but as others pointed out it's unlikely (in the next year) due to the fact that the Pirates theme has returned now....

I wonder if they did make another viking theme would they use some of the same molds or would they make brand new ones? Also would they have dragons again or would it just be realistic? HOPE THERE WILL BE DRAGONS!!!! :excited:

I'd rather see other mythical creatures like Frost Giants or something...or just two opposing Viking factions. New helmets of course, with no horns, and maybe a new Viking axe mold (similar to the BrickWarriors one), boats, a long house, other buildings.

If this is a reboot of Fantasy Era, as we have heard, there will be dragons for sure!

or just two opposing Viking factions.

Maybe Berserkers could work as an evil faction

I've been wainting for a Berserker in the CMF line, but seeing the route that theme is taking now, it's unlikely :sadnew:

I would like a new Vikings theme, if it has no features that I like then I will save money. But TLG won't make any money out of that, so...

I'd like a theme incorporating forestmen and elves. This would take advantage of LEGO's inexplicable desire to constantly make tree sets wherever possible, and take it to the nth degree. War for the forest!

While I could be interested in a new Viking theme eventually. I don't want to seem it next. I've been away from Lego Castle for almost 20 years, and I'm anxious to get back in with some new sets...I don't want those new sets to be non-castle. If I found out the next theme was Vikings, I can confidently say I would walk away again, with any enthusiasm and excitement I had for getting back into Castle Lego just killed...

Some people might suggest there are 20 years worth of sets I could buy, so "new" sets shouldn't be an issue...I'm not interested in buying a bunch of sets i missed. Lego sets are quite expensive in the first place, and the after market is much worse...im not interested in paying those sorts of prices for out of production sets. I'm only interested in what they will make moving forward.

I will be interested in new Vikings theme only if it contain two opposing factions (neither dragons, neither other mythical creations).

A berserker is just a regular Viking on mushrooms, so I'm not sure how different they would look. :-)

Exactly

I would like vikings, with more longboats and maybe opposing vikings or romans or indians (they did go to America) or people from Wessex and Northumbria (people they raided in modern day England). That would be nice.

My sentiments exactly. I would actually prefer a return to Fantasy Era over a "normal" Castle theme, despite the last one being on shelves more recently than Lego's Vikings. With FE though, you at least have knights and castles and such included in it along with everything else. I know we just got LotR too, but Lego missed so much stuff with it that I am still thirty for more fantasy.

I wouldn't mind a Viking theme if it had mythical creatures like ice giants. It could also be more like the Vikings tv show where the Vikings are facing England and France. At least then we would get something kind of similar to "classic Castle" included.

I love the viking theme and I own most of the sets in the past lines but I love dragons and I also hope there will be like sea serpents and such like that!

We got a snake-skull helmet in the latest Ninjago wave... maybe a Berserker could have a bear-skin helmet similar to that or the CMF "mascot" headgear (Piggy Guy, Chicken Guy), and then a fuzzy cape ala the CMF Hun? Plus some small throwing axes with more stylized axe-heads than the typical firefighter axe but not as tiny as the tomahawk (I love BrickForge's hatchets and use them with my dwarves... something like that, but with a curved axe head like the BW Viking Axe would be excellent).

Vikings vs Romans could be fun, but maybe not so historical. Vikings vs English castles/soldiers? A long house and/or palisade for the one side, a stone castle for the other?

Elves & Forestmen would also be excellent to see... anything to get some yellow-eared elf hairpieces.

About berserkers, the word from original translations means 'bear shirt.' A bear-skinned warrior would be consistent with actual historical Vikings. I doubt Lego would do Vikings so close to this year's Pirates and the 2017 POTC movie (likely to give us sets).

The prevailing rumor is a Fantasy theme, and given the existing parts, I am inclined to agree with the likelihood of this.

If Lego were to do a new Vikings theme it would at a minimum need a new mold for the bow/stern of the ship to bring it inline with the bottom hull pieces they currently use for Pirates. The slightly narrower width and using technic pins to secure it rather than bricks. I would also be more prone to expect some sort of Viking theme, if they were going to do one at all, closer to a "How to Train Your Dragon 3" release, just to play into the mood. I also would not be surprised to see Lego take a stab at landing a license for HTTYD3 after the poor showing from Ionix. That fits the multi movie franchise model that they like to buy into.

Short answer I doubt that the next Castle will be a Viking theme. But I could see it a little farther out one way or another.

No interest in Vikings here.

I'd love to have a broad Castle line with at least three factions with some fantasy elements. Factions could be: Peasents/towns folk, knights/army, forest men/elves, witches/super natural. They could be good, bad or neutral factions for all I care.
