8BrickMario Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 That book looks fantastic. Do we know how thick it is? I mean, it looks pretty considerably sized (not the size from the show probably, but large enough). Bonus points is it's hardback. I'd buy it in a heartbeat if that's the case. It looks to be, and with a molded cover, judging by the picture with the blue band around it. Quote
Kwatchi Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 . Is the Black knight armor upgrade for vilains or good guys ? similar to the one in the stickers book ? In the app, as the armor pieces upgrade levels, they get colored black and have have progressively brighter glowing bits. My kids have not got the armor above level 3 yet though, so take this with a grain of salt Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Last week I got 6 Nexo Knights sets - - Clay and Aaron Ultimates - Merlok's Library - Chaos Chariot and Knighton Battle Blaster and Beast Master's Chaos Chariot. So they're out for sure! All at Barnes & Noble. I LOVE these sets! The Fortrex and the rest of the Ultimates will probably be my last ones of this wave. Jestro's Lava Castle will be a must buy. Quote
BrickJagger Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 Okay, so judging from the pictures of the book...... 2016- Lava Monsters (Duh) 2017- Plant Monsters 2018- Aquatic Monsters It would be really interesting if Lego revealed every villain for the first three years all in one book. Most of these creatures pretty much have to be made into sets, since it wouldn't really make sense to waste all of that time to draw cool monsters that kids will never be able to buy. What kind of marketing is that? Quote
Vorkosigan Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Picked up the Chaos Catapult and Ultimate Lavaria at B&N. Both are great sets, I think they did quite well with the catapults details for its scale. The low point is the royal guard. The blue armor and the head design just don't work for me. A yellow head with an alternate tinted visor like the CMF Galaxy Trooper would've been much better. The main weakness of the current wave is that there is no good army builder. Really hope we get battle packs in wave 2, and that the upcoming polybags are made available for sale (not just gift with purchase). Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Battle packs don't happen in summer waves, they normally come in the winter wave of sets. Star wars and Chima are good examples of that. Quote
ChristopheQ Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Or undead warriors .... The main villain could be a Necromancer For 2018 I will stay with my proposition of a necrobots, reviving an army of obsolete rusty squeletton robots Not a very new idea, and it's been done a couple of times before, so a unique twist would be needed. Personally, I like the idea of the Book passing on to different "masters", who use it to summon differently-themed creatures. hum... I think 2016 will be books, with the book of monster, but then for 2017 it would probably no more books and no more BoM, with a new stromg bad guys. A new vilains manipulated by the BoM would be too much the same. Just my guess though... Edited December 28, 2015 by ChristopheQ Quote
Aanchir Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Battle packs don't happen in summer waves, they normally come in the winter wave of sets. Star wars and Chima are good examples of that. First of all, different themes have different types of battle packs. The Star Wars, Chima, and Lord of the Rings "battle packs" were all regular retail sets, but a lot of themes like Pirates of the Caribbean, Castle, and Ninjago have had extended-line "battle packs" with longer six-digit set numbers. And Ninjago had two such battle packs this past summer, so it's not impossible for Nexo Knights to get the same. While seeing more forest creatures in the Book of Monsters might hint at getting them in a future wave, it's WAY too early to be making predictions about 2018, especially since some of those monsters like the Behemoth of Brine don't resemble LEGO figures or models at all, and thus might only be relevant to the TV series. I agree, and I am sure lot's of them will not even be relevant to the TV series. Being their for diversity sake, and to fill all these pages with fun content. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 The book of monsters The Behemoth of Brine is too cool. The Deadwood & Knot is cute. And hooray for the news of a forest theme for 2017! MushroomLord better come true. Quote

DuckBricks Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 No, I think that's TRU Yeah, it definitely isn't in Target's inventory system. The library is the Target exclusive. Quote
Lindulan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Got the January catalog today, and looks like all the reported exclusives are available through Lego store. My kids also got their Lego Club magazines which have scannable shields in them. I can't seem to upload pics due to file size, though... Quote

dannallcorn Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Do you have a link to the mag as the lego site still has the last one Quote
Lindulan Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Lego Stores will also carry all three as well. Sorry if this is a dumb question (I've just recently come out of my dark age...) but is that always the case with exclusives? I was confused because those three sets weren't listed in the online store...I was surprised to see them in the catalog. Thanks for the info (and patience)! Quote
Mr Greeble Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Do we know when the book is due to come out? Quote

Yes, that is how store exclusives generally work. There are a few cases where sets are only available through a specific retailer and are not available from Lego, but those are generally promotional items (like the mini-modulars Toys R Us sells exclusively for their "Bricktober" event) or sets that are specific to that retailer's brand (like the Toys R Us truck they released a few years back). Occasionally store exclusive sets don't get added to the shop at exactly the same time as the other sets in the theme, either, but that's not to say they won't be released. TPLSTER21 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Got my son the Blade Cruiser and Evil Mobile for Christmas. Have to say that both sets are just excellent. The Blade Cruiser is a 6 in 1 model (2 bikes, jet, ballista/command centre, jet & command centre combined, all vehicles combined) and truly an engineering marvel in itself. Its combined form is very cohesive and surprisingly compact and it didn't end up "sacrificing" anything to pull off its splitting gimmicks. It has a generous assortment of figures. The set is good value for the money given the multitude of play features/options built into the vehicle. The only knock against the set in my opinion is the lack of an enemy vehicle to fight the Cruiser. If I had to pick just one set to get from this wave, this would be it. The Evil Mobile is an interesting hybrid of a siege engine/mobile HQ. It is wide and high, but not very deep. The gimmicks are somewhat lackluster in my opinion but all work well and the model itself has a certain "presence" to it when displayed. Also, the rear prison/hatch area can hold 2-3 mini figs without interfering with the interior saw blades. Sparks is a nice little build, with 100 pieces used in its construction. Lance's horse is also a great small build. From a playability standpoint, the set has tons of options. The only drawback is that there are only 2 mini figures included in the set, which to me is just inexcusable in a $70 set. Now, they count Sparks as a figure so there is that. but to me he is a buildable model and not a fig. But still, with 2 very solid mini figs (Lance and Jestro are great) and 3 strong builds, it's pretty much everything you could want in a set of its price. As for the knights themselves, the mini figs look superb. Highly detailed, lots of accessories and they look very menacing when fully armored and armed. My son loves the sets (he is also a huge Ninjago fan and to a lesser extent, Star Wars). I think that Lego has a potential winner here and I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds for this line. If the 2 sets we have are any indication, it's going to be very bright indeed! ZORK64 Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I see, thanks for the info. Too bad that we don't have any concrete info on the availability of this helmet. I had planned to use it for a MOC. Well, maybe Clay's bright blue helmet that comes with his ultimate version might be a good replacement (though that mostly depends on how far his visor piece sticks out - if it looks more like a faceplate than a robo jaw, I'm all set, otherwise I need to find out if his helmet is compatible with Lance's visor), or I just go with the silver version in Robin's ulitmate set. Or it may be the exclusive minifig from the calendar, but the outline isn't right... Assuming that Germany gets the same exclusive calendar goodies, it's not. Going by the picture shown on the calender, the generic knight in that set also uses the same helmet as the others do. Quote
