CM4Sci Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Thanks for the pics, that looks fantastic. It wouldn't surprise me if Mark Stafford was responsible for the design of this piece. I'm definitely going to have to pick up at least one set with Aaron, but I'm hoping that the helmet shows up in bricks and pieces, and that will probably be just the start with this theme. Just looked for you, only the armor appears. No helmet. Sorry Quote
Backgild Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Just looked for you, only the armor appears. No helmet. Sorry No problem, thanks for checking. According to the Brickset database pull, the Lego inventory for the Fortrex is only about 85% complete, so I am, perhaps naively, hopeful that there are additions coming. Otherwise, I'll be heading to bricklink and hoping for better luck there. Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I was looking to see if any of the new piece were available for purchase and almost ALL of the 2016 set inventories are without new minifigures pieces. Quote
Nabii Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 It wouldn't surprise me if Mark Stafford was responsible for the design of this piece. Not me. The SP3 helmet remains the only one I've designed. Most of the Nexo Knights design team had input on all of the new parts, I don't remember if I said anything about the helmet, seem to recall it was great from the get go. Do remember giving some input on the some of the other parts. Quote

Not only does the theme look like a lot of fun, but the new elements have tons of potential. Now, when can we get these helmets in a new space theme? Sorry, had to ask. Quote

LegendsOfNinjago Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 In the replacement parts, you can buy pieces and very very few new pieces are avaliable. Quote
Backgild Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) ?? Bricks and Pieces isn't open yet. Am I missing something? As far as I know, you are correct. However, you can browse the replacement parts section, and it appears to not yet have some of the new elements listed, especially minifig pieces. Also, I believe that this is the same database that brickset queries when you go to the parts page for a set there. Edited January 10, 2016 by Backgild Quote
x105Black Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I'm typically a space/Star Wars collector, but I really like the looks of this theme Naturally, as this theme borrows heavily from Space. As for the Bricks & Pieces, I checked the Nexo Knights sets a little bit ago and was disappointed with the selection. They don't have all of the visors, and hardly any minifigure pieces. I also didn't see the books. They do have the pyramid pieces and shield pieces, though. I'll have to BrickLink what I want, but BrickLink is behind on getting the inventories updated. Quote

Ah, but that was a Nexo Knights is Space comment. Not the same... But I can see why you would post a reaction gif, you have very strong feelings about this. Quote
Space Police XVIII Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 These new helmets DO look nicely spacey, and work well with regular visors. But they're too complex to work with classic Space. Maybe the green one would work with that new green Futuron print, but I haven't got either to check. Quote

Wow the Thunder mace really looks awesome...super fresh, I'm getting that set for sure. Jeezy, now I'm going to want to collect their bikes. You designers are doing a damn fine job of it. Cheers! May this be the most successful line ever. Edited January 11, 2016 by Rayskull Quote

Thanks TheBrickMan01, and J2G for sharing. Looks semi-interesting. The bike design is nice but it doesn't really have any defining features. I figure that it will come with a Crust Smasher, Flame Thrower, or Ash Attacker as the bad guy, so I'll probably skip this one since I already have both of the figures included. Can't wait to see what Aaron's vehicle looks like! Quote
Rayskull Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) Clay's bike: turns into a Claymore, has troops to command Lance's bike: turns into a Stallion, has a assistant with his Lance Macy's bike: .... Not sure, shaped a little like a Mace but has Six shooters like her Ultimate. Arron's: My bet, bike with transforming wheels for flight, bow like ....my guess anyway. Axl: Tower Transport... No idea Edited January 11, 2016 by Rayskull Quote
DraikNova Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) I like the use of an inverted windshield. Otherwise, it seems nice, but a little plain. I wonder what sort of function that knob at the back enables. Does it just turn up the cannons? Edited January 11, 2016 by DraikNova Quote

I was planning to create a lot of custom Squirebots for civilian scenes, but as I'm sure these will be rather expensive on Bricklink for the foreseeable future, I might have to hold of on that. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I like the use of an inverted windshield. Otherwise, it seems nice, but a little plain. I wonder what sort of function that knob at the back enables. Does it just turn up the cannons? There's a little animation you can activate once you unlock the vehicle, and it just shows the cannons flipping up, firing, and falling back, which I assume is what the knob does, otherwise it would show a different set feature. IMO the bike is a bit bland, and a bit unfinished-looking, especially the exposed, long Technic beams underneath it. Depending on the price, it may be good or bad in my overall judgement. If it's $15, it would be pretty good value. $20 would be a bit steep though, especially as the Robo-Horse is much better at the same price. Quote

BrickFit26 Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Macy's Thunder Mace looks ok for now, I need better look at. Excited for wave 2. I have all the ultimates finally. Quote

Rayskull Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Aaron gets flying crosbow in Fortrex. I really don't think it was intended that, it be a vehicle. It's got zero flight surfaces or propulsion. I'm imaginative, but ive got nothing to work with there. Quote
telaruhn Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Being that he/shes figure made of molten lava, does Flama's gender really matter in the grand scheme of things? It's already an interesting character regardless of gender... Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Ah, but that was a Nexo Knights is Space comment. Not the same... I'm not defending NK's castledom, but I don't think it's quite a Space theme, either. Ultra Agents was just as high-tech, but it wasn't space. This is an action theme. No other planets or aliens to be seen. Macy's Thunder Mace has a unique shape, which I like, but the windscreen seems a bit repetitive, and it doesn't seem like it does much. Purchase will depend on the baddie(s) included. Quote
