DraikNova Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I saved the Nexo Knights description, though: London Toy Fair report - Nexo Knights Posted by CapnRex101, 25 Jan 2016 19:15 NEW SETS 20 COMMENTS 3585 Views The first wave of Nexo Knights sets has surpassed my expectations but there are still certain aspects of the theme which leave me wanting, particularly with regard to the knights' vehicles. I was therefore delighted to find that the summer wave focuses on the villains to a greater extent and the design of the knights' vehicles also seems to have improved quite dramatically. Furthermore, the ranges of Squire Bots and 'Ultimate' Knights are completed in the second wave and the standard Axl figure appears in a much cheaper set than 70317 The Fortrex. 70318 The Glob Lobber - £7.99 This set is very similar in size to 70310 Knighton Battle Blaster and 70311 Chaos Catapult from the first wave and includes similar minifigures, a fully armoured King's Knight and a Flame Thrower. As you might expect given the name of the set, a number of Globlins are included too. The Glob Lobber is rather like 70310 Knighton Battle Blaster in that it is a small turret which can be driven around the battlefield but this model looks far better. It is shaped like a crossbow and can fire the Globlins at the knights. There is a seat for the the Flame Thrower to control the vehicle from on top. 70319 Macy's Thunder Mace - £17.99 A render of this vehicle has already appeared in the Merlok 2.0 app. The two six-stud shooters which are hidden in front of the rear wheels can be raised and fired and there is room for Macy to sit in the cockpit, even when wearing her armour. Macy, a Crust Smasher and a Macy Bot are included. The Macy Bot wears the same helmet as the Clay Bots and is identical to them in every respect except colour and the emblem on its chest as this bot is red to correspond with Macy's red armour and is printed with her coat of arms. 70320 Aaron Fox's Aero Striker V2 - £29.99 I think this is the best of all the Knighton vehicles I have seen so far, except perhaps for70327 The King's Mech. The craft is shaped like a crossbow (this is clearly a theme of the summer sets) and includes a folding handle underneath so it can be held just like a crossbow, although the model is significantly smaller than a real crossbow of course. A missile is hidden underneath which can be launched using a concealed trigger and the cockpit is located on top. The colour scheme is mainly light bluish grey, trans-neon orange and blue as in the case of all the Knighton models, although the designer of this set has found an attractive balance between the brighter colours and the duller ones in my opinion. I do not feel the same way about some of the sets in the first wave so am pleased with this apparent progression. Aaron, an Aaron Bot and an Ash Attacker are included. 70321 General Magmar's Siege Machine - £34.99 This is a vehicle the like of which has not been seen before. In its initial form it looks rather like a four-wheeled battle tank which is decorated with teeth and gold pyramid pieces. However, the entire rear section can be raised using a Technic mechanism to form a siege tower! This features red eyes and some enormous jaws which look very intimidating. The model is designed to breach the defences of 70317 The Fortrex. We were not shown how it scales beside that set but it seems to be around the right height to reach the top of the walls when the siege tower is extended. Unfortunately I missed some of the minifigures included in this set but I know it comes with General Magmar (shown above), Flama and Clay. I would assume it is also crewed by a generic lava warrior or two but I do not know which kinds. 70322 Axl's Tower Carrier - £39.99 Axl, two Axl Bots, Burnzie and a Crust Smasher are included in 70322. The image of Axl which was shown suggested that his arms are now mounted at a slight angle, unlike in 70317 The Fortrex but the staff member thought it was an error when I mentioned it. This vehicle is very reminiscent of 8708 Cave Crusher as it has very little ground clearance and rolls on six enormous wheels. The two Axl Bots control this behemoth from the front while Axl stands towards the back or on top of the tower in the centre. This is a strange assembly as the tower is also on wheels and can be removed from the main vehicle, although it seems rather top heavy and there are no controls, so perhaps Axl simply pushes it around the battlefield. It is a little disappointing that there is no method of dropping off the tower without removing it manually, at least not that I was shown, but this is still a fun feature and the Tower Carrier looks quite impressive even without the tower in place. 70323 Jestro's Volcano Base - £99.99 This is the largest Nexo Knights set yet but is also one of the least interesting in my opinion. The base is quite substantial, occupying an area of about 40cm in width and depth but there is little detail and it suffers from the same issues as 70014 The Croc Swamp Hideout. Lots of space seems to be wasted and the colour scheme is blander than I anticipated, consisting predominantly of black with a little dark red and trans-red thrown in to represent lava. Despite its dull appearance this set is packed with play features. There are trapdoors, spinning blades, spikes, falling rocks and a lava waterfall, all of which must be negotiated before you can confront Jestro at the top of the volcano. This kind of playset does not appeal to me but I am sure it will prove popular with children, although I cannot help but think that it would be even better if the colour scheme included a little more orange. The minifigure selection is excellent. Jestro, the Book of Monsters, two Ash Attackers, a Scurrier and Lavaria are included along with the Book Keeper, a short-legged lava monster whose job it is to carry the Book of Monsters around! We see this character in several episodes of the Nexo Knights animated series so I welcome his inclusion here. I did not notice any Knights in this set but surely there must be at least one included. I may simply have missed it. 70336, 70337, 70338, 70339 'Ultimate' sets - £6.99 Four Ultimate sets are being released in the summer. These contain Axl, Lance, General Magmar and Flama. The knights include translucent elements related to the colour of their armour just like Clay, Aaron and Macy do in the first wave. The shape of the display stands in each set remains unchanged and there are plenty of accessories included to equip the minifigures with the appropriate Nexo Powers. Lance, for instance, comes with a pair of white wings which can be attached to the back of his armour. - It is also worth noting that the staff member who was showing the Nexo Knights sets (in full Jestro costume, of course), indicated that the storyline will be changed for the 2017 range, just as the plot has altered annually in NINJAGO and Legends of Chima. He did not specify whether Jestro would be redeemed, captured or killed at the end so we will have to wait and see. Lastly, the same staff member informed us that by the end of the summer wave there will be a total of 126 Nexo Powers to collect, some of which only appear in the animated series and books! I will be posting a more detailed look at the upcoming BIONICLE sets shortly, so stay tuned! Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 ...how useful. If this is the kind of photography they allow, then we'll never see the sets. Quote

Pulp Detective Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Lego's "logic" doesn't make any sense, they asked the Brickset staff to take down their TF related articles stating that they "provided too much detail" and then a couple of weeks later we have the New York TF which allows photography.I mean WHAT THE HELL LEGO??? x105Black Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 I'm just glad that the rumor about Jestro being a brick built monster was false, never liked that idea. And with the Nuremberg TF this week hopefully we'll get a general idea concerning the sets.I really hope that the Volcano Base won't be disappointing. Where was this confirmed? That would make me happy, as well. I see the Brickset article seems to indicate that he is a minifigure, but they may be using that term loosely. Quote

Lyichir Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 Of course today is the day I get catalog pics . Axl's hover horse comes in the Colcano base Does that mean it's safe to assume that Axl himself shows up in that set, as well? Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Alright, I can't talk that much right now and it seems kind of pointless because pictures are here soon; but - Tower Transport looks like the Power Miners vehicle described but it's got a short tower in the back with two disc launchers on the side of the tower. Axl is in there with a TNRO dome on top. The cockpit in the front is the Jedi Starfighter wing in TNRO. Axlbots are the same as others but have the Kingdoms helmet. Aero Flyer is amazing. It's a little small but it has these awesome grey thruster things in front. More to come Edited January 26, 2016 by CM4Sci Quote

CM4Sci Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 No Seige or Glob Lobber, or Ultimates. The Volcano Base... I gotta be honest, it's not as good as I hoped it'd be. It's a little blocky and studdy. But it's not too bad. In the middle there's a collapsing bridge I think and underneath there's a big flaming spinning circle with teeth. Lance is included too. There's a black Scurrier. Jestro has a pretty weak throne that looks like it can do the same thing the Evil Mobile tower can. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 26, 2016 Posted January 26, 2016 YES!!! More scurrier variants. I'm going to be collecting an army of them. Quote

BrickJagger Posted January 26, 2016 Author Posted January 26, 2016 Lego is really going too far with this. Why remove the descriptions when thousands of people have already seen your summer products? There's literally no excuse for that and it makes no sense from a business standpoint. @Sci How tall is Jestro's Base? Is it actually shaped like a Castle or like a playset? Quote

I guess Night Lord's Castle lives to see another day as the tallest Castle ever made. Can you tell which figures are included in the Siege Machine? Quote
