Hoth Rebel Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Well these look all great! Time to make more room for the collection XD Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Hmm. was hoping that the magmar set was a wee bit bigger, but it still looks great. But... not much really stands out to me right now. Also, what's up with all the Ash Attackers? Quote
BrickFit26 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Love the ultimates. I like the Volcano base, but i don't like it as much as i thought i would. For me its the grey bricks. Personally, i would have rather they stuck with all red and black and orange. I just don't like the way the gray bricks look on the base. Quote
x105Black Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Sorry for the let down, there's some tidbit rumors I misunderstood. There were some details I shared that were true and other things I misunderstood like I said. Some hints were shared with me and I jumped to conclusions. Next time I will make sure to share the hints and we'll speculate together :) That's a genius idea! I bet Ice Planet fans are super happy. what's up with all the Ash Attackers? I certainly don't mind. He's one of the best looking minifigures in the theme! Overall, unimpressed. It doesn't look much better than the first wave. The Volcano is a much better set than either the Fortrex or Evil Mobile, but there's not much else to be excited about. More Ultimate Rock Candy Knights, more garish color schemes. At least the Ash Attackers, Jestro, and Lance are still around. Quote
BrickJagger Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 At least the Ash Attackers, Jestro, and Lance are still around. I guess you won't like next year...... Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) None of these were what I expected, but I think that's okay. My thoughts: -Ultimate Sets $9.99 ea. I really appreciate the fact that Lego actually gave a damn about Keetorange Flama. Makes me happy. I also love the trans-clear armor on Lance. Magmar is certainly impressive as well. Based on appearance alone, his Nexo Power Weapons are my favorites. Axl is also really cool looking, what with the Keetorange and the trans-orange. Exactly what I was hoping for. -The Glob Lobber $9.99 This set was so impressive sounding by it's name, but let me honest here... it's horrible. It looks like the designers got a pair of wheels, grabbed big handfuls of red, bleys, and trans orange and slapped this unfortunate pile together. It's only redeeming quality is the Royal Soldier with a Kingdoms helmet. -Macy's Thunder Mace $19.99 I was surprised by how small it is! Don't get me wrong, it's still a great looking set. The function, is simple sure, but for an "unfolding-function" in a small scale set, it looks great. Gonna need this one for the Macybot. -Aaron Fox's Arrow Striker V2 $39.99 This set was certainly a surprise. I love the use of this piece for the engines at the bottom. I really like how the wings are done as well. Wish we had a side view of the vehicle though. That way we could have some idea of how the function(s) of the vehicle work. Also, why is this the only set with the last name of a Nexo Knight in its set name? -General Magmar's Siege Engine of Doom $49.99 The quality of the naming conventions for the Evil Mobile are evident in this set as well. Hooray for consistency, I guess... Anyway, by the sounds of Brickset's previously deleted description, this set transforms. Immediately a turn on for me, but the build looks like it has something to be desired. The menacing look is okay, but the sticker sheet that will be included to accomplish that look is going to be... fun... It comes with two unique minifigures, Clay's Hover Horse, and an orange book as well. -Axl's Tower Carrier $69.99 I expected a flying vehicle, but WOW is this set chunky! The armored look is very impressive. It looks like there is some sort of internal function inside it. Brickset also mentioned something about the Tower Axl sits in being removable. Hmm. The Axlbots are certainly a drive for the set. That of course is aside from Burnzie who I've loved since his reveal on Lego's website a month ago. A blue book is also featured in this set. -Jestro's Volcano Lair $119.99 This set, unfortunately was not what I expected. I mean you can't just say "this set looks like a combination of the Agents Volcano and Vladek's Dark Fortress" and have it come out looking like... this. The set is cool. I was just hoping for more of a castle. One without a plank that leads to a lava Sarlacc. The internal features are funny, but some of those traps seem a little too obvious (the saw) to be considered menacing. The minifigure selection in this set is fantastic though. The Black Scurrier and the Bookkeeper are certainly pluses. This one also includes a small vehicle for Macy, Axl's Hover Horse. and a green book. To summarize, this lineup isn't necessarily stellar, but there are plenty of forgiving things throughout. I'll definitely be leaving final judgment on Jestro's Volcano Lair until I see it built. Reminder that Whiparella shows up in none of these sets, and that there is a store exclusive set that isn't going to be featured at any of the Toy Fairs. Note: Prices are based on comparing box sizes to sets that are currently available in similar sized packaging. Edited January 27, 2016 by Penkid11 Quote
refriedbeans Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 I'm honestly not feeling the castle, it looks like a wall with a big pit in the center. That being said I'm glad the Book Keeper is included as well as Axl's Hover Horse. And I'd really like to know what they were thinking with Ultimate Axl Quote
BrickFit26 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Hyped that Axl & Clay are getting their hover horses. And I love that black scurrier. Quote
Boogly22238 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Black scurrier AND Book Keeper? Sold. Edited January 27, 2016 by Boogly22238 Quote
Zergos Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Only going to be buying ultimates from this wave. Summer already looking bad enough as it is with superheroes. Flama is different in the ultimate set, so good job to whoever guessed that. Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 -General Magmar's Siege Engine of Doom $49.99 Wait... Is that seriously what it's called? This is the best possible thing. Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Wait... Is that seriously what it's called? This is the best possible thing. *Machine of Doom It's on the box, and listed on Brickset as such, yes. Edited January 27, 2016 by Penkid11 Quote
sunhuntin Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 picked up ultimate aaron today, cos i love his face print and it was the cheapest way to get him. pleasantly surprised to see 4 bananas that werent obvious on the box. think i just found s15 clumsy guys nemesis. Quote
Robert8 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Wow, that Axl minifigure will be very expensive to get. Overall, I liked the first wave better but the Aaron ship and that thing with General Magma and Flama are really cool Does anyone know if there will be another wave with this storyline? Maybe 3 or 4 sets We are missing: Whiperella Ultimate Whiperella Ultimate Moltor Ultimate Ava (?) Princess Macy (I thought Princess Macy was confirmed by someone here? ) And the baddies don't have that anti-nexoshield made of rock Whiperella has in the app. I thought they were going to use them in this wave Edited January 27, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Wait, wasn't Jestro supposed to have a new look? And, Lance was supposed to be in the smallest set... AmazingBricks stop letting me down!!! Don't worry man. Many of those minifigs are crealy not final- there is a guy on wheelchair with FLESH hands. It's really suprising how look of the set changed in my eyes. They all looked so... boring at first look but more I look at them I find little details I love. Also Lavaria has different torso. So it IS unique minifig in Volcano lair. I'm ok with that. I wanted to have it anyway. Edited January 27, 2016 by Lordofdragonss Quote

BrickJagger Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 ^ There's only one exclusive set missing. Looking at the prices, the exclusive should be around $70-$80. Time to over-analyze who will be in the set...... Whiparella is a given. I'll throw in a Crust Smasher because he's only shown up once this wave, and we've been spammed with Ash Attackers. Here are times each knight shows up in each wave: Clay First wave: 3 Second wave: 1 Total: 4 Aaron: First wave: 4 Second wave: 1 Total: 5 Lance: First wave: 3 Second wave: 2 Total: 5 Macy: First wave: 2 Second wave: 2 Total: 4 Axl: First wave: 1 Second wave: 3 Total: 4 Since Aaron and Clay only show up once in this wave, I'll pick them to be in the exclusive. A rumor that has been floating around is that of a village raid. Makes sense, since in all of the episodes so far Jestro is pillaging villages. Golems First wave: 2 Golems Second wave: 1 Consistency is obviously a big part of Nexo Knights (Every Knight gets a vehicle, hover-horse and squirebot, three generic lava monsters are used in both waves, etc.), so a second golem could be on the way, maybe the one with boulder-fists that has not been made yet. With that being said, I'll make a (way too hopeful) prediction: Village Raid: Whiparella, Crust Smasher, New Golem, Clay, Aaron, three villagers. $79.99 Quote
Robert8 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Aaron would make sense because he seems to be Whiparella's archenemy, according to the bios But then no Ultimate Whiparella and no Ultimate Moltor? Quote
BrickJagger Posted January 27, 2016 Author Posted January 27, 2016 Aaron would make sense because he seems to be Whiparella's archenemy, according to the bios But then no Ultimate Whiparella and no Ultimate Moltor? How could you upgrade either of them? Moltor's already got rock fists and is a different color than the others and Whiparella's got a snake tail and dual whips. Not much to add onto there. The guys at the Toy Fair said that Nexo is changing scenery next year, so hopefully that's the plant guys, right? I'm happy with the lava monsters as a whole. Ten different monsters, three (four?) golems and four scurriers is good variety. They also had a healthy amount of vehicles and a *huge* Castle. Quote

Plant people sound a lot less menacing that lava monsters About the Ultimates, look what they did with Flama. A recolor and a weapon. By the Flama, I don't like Flama being like a sidekick villain in the General Magma set. She looks so awesome. She deserved her own set Quote
DraikNova Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 (edited) Plant people sound a lot less menacing that lava monsters There are also fungi monsters, and from the looks of it some swamp creatures as well (something is sticking it's three tooth discs out of the water). Plus, plants can do pretty weird stuff. Smell like rotten flesh, signal armies of wasps to target encroaching pests, even vampirize each other. Meanwhile, fungi are known for being poisonous and capable of mind control. Whatever the exclusive is, I hope it brings us blue versions of the castle turret piece. NotMegalodon Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Wow that Lava base is better than expected, as is everything really.....but the Lava flows look amazing! It is! And a lot more minifigs than was rumored. Luckily. Seems to be a must-have for NK fans! Quote

BrickFit26 Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Axl's tower, hmmm, i was expecting something bigger. Its a bulky vehicle, but i wonder if it transforms into something else. Quote
benderisgreat Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 General Magmar's Siege Machine is a standout set for me! The build looks great, and minifigs are great too. Also Clay gets one of these awesome robot horses! Quote
