DraikNova Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Just wondering whether the two wildly different color schemes we saw on the swamp villains is an indication that we'll get two color schemes for the bad guys next year, like we got red with black accents and black with orange this year. Also, if we end up getting an underwater theme like some have speculated, I can already imagine them turning the points on Jestro's hat into oxygen tubes. Back on topic, am I the only one annoyed that if you buy all the sets, you still only end up with one squirebot each for Macy, Lance and Aaron? Quote
Mr Greeble Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Orange book in Magmar set is book of anger. Anyone found a good way to display books? EDIT: t video has closeups of all the summer sets, including the ultimates! Edited January 30, 2016 by Mr Greeble Quote
DraikNova Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Those are just the pictures we've already seen before, though, aren't they? Also, I'm pretty sure books can be held using clips, which might help. Either that, or you could make a bookshelf using tiles and plates. Since I'm already working on making dragons for all of the knights, do you think I should make one for Robin as well? I mean, it's kind of obvious what I'd make it into considering Robin's heraldic symbol (feathered, flightless yet possessing wings, a sharp edge on the feet), but I think it'd be a nice challenge. ChristopheQ Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Anyone found a good way to display books? I was wandering as well. For few books, rostrom/lectern is the more classy way. This is the best angle... And tiles on top to look more like a library. But something similar for 6 or 7 books will take a lot of space... I was thinking, to mix up shelves with 2 books in display. One horizontal, one vertical, so both cover can be seen. t video has closeups of all the summer sets, including the ultimates! Close up on Ultimate was much appreciate, thanks ! No sure i like the strong contrast between yellow and trans orange on Flama. But the head is lovely. Will still try to put ghost rider flame head piece on him. Love Ultimate Magmar. Some shields are a bit boring no ? Edited January 30, 2016 by ChristopheQ Quote
8BrickMario Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 ...it's yellow. What? Ultimate Flama should have been light orange! Quote

I would say the colors of the bad guys are rather similar, all based on red. (dark red, orange, brown, purple for Jestro, even black is a very very dark red ). Putting something based on blue would have make a wildly different color schemes. For possible plants vilains, it would probably be less homogenious, with all kind of brown/green with reddish details (red mushroom hat, red or purple cape...) to make a good contrast. For 2017, beside the unknow ennemy faction (my guess is no BoM, no Jestro, but Lego keep surprising me, so I will not bet in it...) I still wander if the blue and trans-reddish orange for the knight will stay. Against a greenish faction they could go for dark red and trans-blue for exemple... And the Ultimate, will we get new one's ? Good for the App, but difficult to invent more weapons... And the collectors, no more books, weapons, helmet ? So many possibilities for the designers... Seeing the prelims at the end of the year will be super exciting !!! Edited January 30, 2016 by ChristopheQ Quote

It was actually in my YouTube feed, but I thought I would have seen al the content already, guess I was wrong! ChristopheQ Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) t video has closeups of all the summer sets, including the ultimates! @1.20 the angle on Macy vehicle is really not flatering... Same for the globe lobber, look better in the box art : http://brickset.com/...ery=nexo knight will get it for the parts and Flame thrower (no plan to buy the King mech or the Lance horse) So much yellow in ultimate Axl, yellow face in a yellow helmet look weird... Seeing the prelims at the end of the year will be super exciting !!! My guess is that the vehicles for the plant villains will all be green shades, although I wonder if they'll actually be making vehicles for them, rather than giant monsters. Anyway, I think all the bad guys will end up with one or two color pallets, to keep them unified looking. Green as main shade, with orange and purple or white, red and brown accents. I hope that they'll make some sort of slime mold character as well, since it'd be a really appropriate use for the ninjago ghost tail piece. I suspect the knights will keep their colors, but maybe replace the Ultimate gimmick with a very similar one, or one that is only conceptually different in the show, allowing them to continue making Ultimate versions, but with different gear. Dark red would be too dark a color for a good side, probably. Quote
x105Black Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Well, in other news, I finished my Mace Dragon! Have a look! Surprised it wouldn't be red, as that's Macy's color, but I guess blue is the generic Nexo Knights color so that works. Quote
ChristopheQ Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Dark red would be too dark a color for a good side, probably. yes could be... Ninjago color schemes are more simple. Each Ninja give his own very dominant color to his vehicle (even if one could argue red is the Ninjago color of choice for temples, Bounty etc...). For the Knights, blue and grey are still 95% of the vehicle colors... It give a strong coherence to the theme, and make a lot of sense, feel both medieval and futuristic, but if they don't change colors, wave 2 vehicles will feel very similar to wave 1 (a blue bike, blue tank, blue flyer...). or maybe only minor change like replace the trans reddish orange, by trans yellow, like in the show... And if they change colors, they should avoid dark blue (Clay), Yellow, Red, Green and White... (but seeing blue and dark blue are used a lot despite being Clay colors, a grey, red, dark red, trans-blue combinaison could work...) dark green, brown, tan, sand would be very military and more for bad guys Orange, purple, light yellow, pink, light green and lime are probably too flashy and not very knightly Gold only in limited quantity... not easy to guess... ChristopheQ Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) interview of one of the NK designer, with (few) more info on Macy and Aaron vehicles http://zusammengebau...-designer-4403/ Does anyone have a close-up look of the blue book included in Axl's Tower Carrier? sorry, didn t find anything better than this http://zusammengebau...res-lehmann.jpg same photo than on the video, but a good view on Ultimate (I love Magmar torso !!!) http://zusammengebau...es-lehmann1.jpg http://zusammengebau...res-lehmann.jpg http://zusammengebau...res-lehmann.jpg http://zusammengebau...res-lehmann.jpg Edited January 30, 2016 by ChristopheQ Quote
Aanchir Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 (edited) Surprised it wouldn't be red, as that's Macy's color, but I guess blue is the generic Nexo Knights color so that works. Presently all the Nexo Knights creatures and machines that belong to a specific character are the standard Nexo Knights color scheme plus accents in a color corresponding to that character. For instance, the Rumble Blade is the standard color scheme plus Dark Azur accents for Clay. The Mecha Horse is the standard color scheme plus White accents for Lance. The King's Mech is the standard color scheme plus Warm Gold accents for King Halbert. The Aero Striker V2 is the standard color scheme with Bright Yellowish Green accents for Aaron. The same applies for all the knights' hover-horses. Overall, this keeps the color schemes more unified than LEGO Ninjago, where the only unifying color for the ninja's vehicles and dragons tends to be gold, and otherwise the color scheme is completely different depending on which ninja the vehicle or dragon belongs to. It's closer to how Alpha Team or Galaxy Squad handled their color schemes, except generally subtler than it was in the Galaxy Squad sets and slightly less subtle than in the Alpha Team sets (which might have just one piece in the color of the corresponding agent). So a dragon for Macy would probably have a color scheme a lot like that one — the standard blue, silver, etc, plus red accents like the levers and the Technic parts behind each shooter. Maybe it could use a bit more red but for the most part it follows the same rules as the other characters' vehicles and steeds. Edited January 30, 2016 by Aanchir Quote

Mr Greeble Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Any other ideas for Nexo Knight MOCs? I made the well and a section of the road based of the app. I don't really have the colors scheme though. I was thinking that a mech for the scurriers would be cool, with different sections controlled by different scurriers. ...I get credit if anyone uses that. Quote
BrickJagger Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 Any other ideas for Nexo Knight MOCs? Snake-Bike for Whiparella. Light orange vehicle for Flama. That mech that the Knighton Bots use in the first two episodes of the TV show. Vehicle for Mushlord. Quote
ChristopheQ Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) Any other ideas for Nexo Knight MOCs? Vilain hover horse (for Ultimate Magmar, who look like a dark knight), with a black bike, replacing the new dark blue "shield" slop by a brown one (Burnzie) or a trans-orange lava slop (like in the chaos chariot) which will make it bulkier replace the head-horse buy a bull-head maybe, with the new chima claws (the one making the eye on the evil mobile) in trans-orange...
