Robots, little monsters, giants, snake tail figures, etc... offer a diversity of very different figures, to make it more interesting.

All those figures you find "cheap" require more design work and new molds making them more expensive than a minifigure...

So calling it "cheap" is not the right word... :)

Look at a playtheme as a kid would do. Stop counting parts and looking if a figure got legs or not...Is the figure cool?

Does it open imagination? is it never seen before? This are the good questions. Kids will remember it to you...

Uniformity is the biggest ennemy of imagination.

I love the minifigures you came up with, to be honest. Were you involved in Ultimate Macy's design? I just got the set today, along with Moltor's Lava Smasher (another great pair of figs), and she looks gorgeous.

Regarding the argument:

It amuses me that you think reasonable discussion will convince people on the internet. If you need a disproof of that, just look at the first twenty or so pages after Nexo Knights was revealed or x105Black's posts. If someone is convinced that something is bad, uncreative or "cheap", no amount of arguing will ever convince them otherwise.

New types of figures is a good thing for expanding possibilities. The scurriers are quite cool, squirebots are less my thing personally but I still appreciate their design.

This says it all. People complain like adults about a kids toy. I myself really like the Nexo Knights and it seems most people here, thats why they're in this thread. My kid can't stop talking about it and he's a big fan of Aaron and Axl. And he likes the little robots and scurriers.

I see Nexo Knights as an excellent source of two genres worth of parts. There's heavy fantasy imagrey and minifigs, and some excellent sci-fi elements. The monster characters are some of the best i've seen with lots of fun application in MOCs of various settings. It's like a swiss army knife theme and i love it to bits lol

Incidentally, if you live in the Netherlands, there's a great little shop in the center of Delft that has all the Nexo Knights sets up to 20% cheaper than in LEGO stores. I think I'm going to end up buying all of my Nexo Knights' sets there. It's the only way I'm going to be able to afford everything. 6*10+2*10+2*20+30+40+60+100+10 (estimated price of Glob Lobber)+20 (Thunder Mace)+40 (Aero-Striker)+60 (Siege Machine of Doom)+80 (Tower Carrier)+120 (Volcano Base)=$680, or 612 with double VIP points used to reduce it. Taking into account the prices that store uses, well, it's still pretty high, but $580 is pretty good, all things considered.

EDIT: Just a thought: How great would it be if we got a printed microfigure made to match the plushies sold at the tournament in the first episode? Really hoping we get a set that depicts the actual kingdom at some point, as it'd be the only real opportunity we have to get some of the background characters of the show.

I came out of the dark ages for Nexo Knights. Last time I got a set was around 2000.

I am in the Netherlands too but I couldnt find a store yet that sells merlok libary/infernox/king mech all at once since they are sort of exclusive so I ended up getting them via shop@home because of the february promo (battlestation+robin mini fort).

But I agree there's good discounts on regular sets if you know where to look.

I dont go for ultimates so getting robin at least via polybag is a good alternative.

I personally aim for most 2016 sets except 4 of the vehicles rumble blade/mecha horse/aero striker/thunder mace, unless they go at heavy discounts.

Axl Tower Carrier adds more then just a vehicle since it contains burnzie.

Can't wait to see the summer exclusive (assuming it contains spider globins/whiparella).

No idea what the summer magic book(we get at least 3-4) inserts are, but so far we had spider globlin/flama/burnzie/sparkz/scurriers, I assume Moltor/General/Beast Master/Lavaria would be potential candidates since those arent exclusive.

High chance of spider globlin/whiparella in the summer exclusive, I don't think they will wait for winter 2017, it'd be strange to do that imo.

I like the scurriers more than the squirebots. But i definitely see how kids can love these different figures.

Scurriers are just the right size to make nice minion characters. Globlins are just really small but I can see the point of 1-stud being more versatile for use as ammo or beast master pets.

As far as squire bots go, I wish they made the royal knights either more human or more robot like compared to right now they are sort of both. Right now I like the King's mech squirebot more then the minifig variant using the same color scheme/logo.

But i imagine it'd lose out on the collectible feeling for people who will try to get a clay/lance/axl/macy/aron/king bot. Nexo knight theme is just full of "completionist" items :)

I'm thinking General Magmar's siege machine is the best feature to cost ratio, you get normal Clay with his hover horse and Definitive Flama...and Magmar with cape.......and the siege machine!

Its probably already been said.

-Like the boulder arm on Infernox there.

I completely agree that new types are good. For me, the issue is often labeling. I wouldn't consider scurriers or squirebots to be minifigures, but they are certainly a new type of figure, and their inclusion is not necessarily bad. But I don't think LEGO should be including them in a count of minifigures. If a set has 10 figures, but only 3 minifigures, then it should be labeled as such. But still, I think it's a good thing that LEGO is branching out and exploring other creative avenues besides the classic minifigure.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask.

Yesterday I got this weird little Nexo Knights set (5004389) as promotional giveaway at the Lego Store.

The thing is, the blue baseplate was glued to the cardboard. I managed to detach it, but now there is sticky glue all over the back which prevents a proper use for the plate.

Any idea of how to remove that glue residue?

It's supposed to be glued on ?

Also, I was shown this from a friend; the European Nexo Knights site has some sort of Academy thing, make your own Knight and shield. One of the missions has the prelim picture of Jestro's vehicle. This is what I drew!

Other shops have great discounts as well. There's only a few sets i 'must' have. The others i will buy when they're at least 30% off.

Like the Kings Mech right now on amazon.de: http://www.brickwatch.net/nl-NL/set/70327/The-King-s-Mech.html

I've added Ultimate Macy to reach over 29€ and get free shipping. brickwatch is a great website to check for prices in the NL (and DE and FR, and BE, and UK)

Will this promo set be avaliable in the US?

It is. I got mine yesterday. Apparently they are being given away when kids ask a question about Nexo Knights. I saw it behind the counter, asked them about it, and they just gave it to me. Not all Lego Stores are run the same though, so you might not get the same result.

Super stoked for the 4 summer ultimate sets, they look so good!!!  Hopefully as this theme goes on, they introduce some more knights (mostly cause I wanna see more of the ultimate armor in different trans colors). Finally will have Axl!

I dunno, Nexo Knights already has a ridiculous number of main characters. I think we'd be more likely to see Robin and Ava graduating to become full knights before we see many other characters being added to the main cast. Which wouldn't be a bad thing... imagine, Trans. Light Blue and Trans. Br. Bluish Violet ultimate armor for them!
