makoy Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Wow, those battle packs are pretty pricey in some countries... 149 NOK / 14.99 EURO in NL... yeah.. I was hoping it is cheaper. Quote
NotMegalodon Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 One of each and it's 30 euro's... that's more than Merlok's library or Infernox captures the queen... That doesn't feel like a good deal. Even more than the Chaos Chariot (with a bit of a discount). Quote
DraikNova Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) I just really wish there was a battle pack with scurriers or globlins in it. Seriously, why are scurriers and globlins the majority of Jestro's forces in the show, while they're rare in the sets (globlins appear in only 2 non-ultimate sets, if I recall correctly) yet minifigure mooks like Flame Thrower are all over the place in the sets yet completely nonexistant in the show? I mean, you'd expect the scurrier mold would be one they'd want to use regularly, given the cost it must have had. It's not like it takes up significantly more plastic than a normal minifigure either. And globlins are just ball joints, so they should have been capable of throwing four of them with the same face in each set, at the very least. Edited May 3, 2016 by DraikNova Quote
Ralphel Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 scurrier are really expensive compared to other units of Jestro's in bricklink Quote

I'm still hoping we get a Nexo Knights chess set with Scurriers and Squirebots as the pawns. The good guy battle pack, at least, would be a good source of King's Squirebots if I wanted to make my own... but Scurriers are still fairly hard to get, and I can't help but feel hesitant to start putting down money to make my own chess set when an official one is still a very realistic possibility... TeriXeri Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) I think they want to keep scurriers and globlins still fairly exclusive as that can be reasons for people to buy certain sets like fortrex/rumble blade/chaos chariot, especially with 3 different printed versions of each. I also expect new prints/outfits/colors for knights into 2017 just for that reason, also expect them to use some version of green scurrier mold for a plant or mushroom monster, or blue for water monster if they reach that theme. (going by artwork of stickers released so far) I agree the battlepacks are a bit expensive, would've liked them more at €12.50 or so, but at least there's some unique parts (both include 2 pieces of a torso and legs that arent seen on other minifig) Still mostly likely gonna get them alongside the Black Knight set, as exclusive sets seem to actually be pretty rare or even above lego.com price here. Looking at the keyrings produced so far, they might include those versions of Aaron and Clay with hair as magazine gift. Still hope to see a hairpiece on Macy as well, as the red plume included now is basicly only her ponytail and not her helmless version. Edited May 3, 2016 by TeriXeri Quote
Lyichir Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Flama's "sword" is a new piece? It's a new recolor, but it's the same mold as the "ghost sword" piece from last summer's Ninjago sets. Quote
TeriXeri Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 (edited) Looking at the highest resolution version on amazon for Jestro's Lair, there's quite a lot of cool extras to see on the back of the box, like a Rat, Chicken, red Spider, yellow Frog, a Cauldron, red Coffee mug, 2 gold Goblets, Banana, and a few different weapons (2 are red/black, meaning to be jestro's?) also a Red/Black checkered bed and some storage boxes. Definately a nice set which seems also mostly brick-built. Coming back to the Nexo Knight battle pack discussion: The $15 or €15 (locally) is actually pretty outrageous, compared to Star Wars battlepacks at least, which usually contain a small 50-70 piece build for a similar (slightly more expensive at most) price. The last Castle 2014 battle pack was $15 also however and did not contain much more either, 2015 had a Ninjago battlepack also at $15. Chima 2015 had Tribe packs, containing 3 figures but small banner/disk shooter build for $10/€10. I just can't get around why the pricing differences. Edited May 3, 2016 by TeriXeri Quote

The Star Wars battle packs are a different type of product than the battle packs from most other themes. Star Wars battle packs are regular retail sets (with four or five digit set numbers), much like the 2015 Chima "tribe packs". Other battle packs/army building packs from themes like Ninjago, Chima, City, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Nexo Knights are extended-line products (with six or seven digit set numbers) that include minifigures pre-assembled in plastic blister packaging. I imagine the packaging plays a part in the pricing differences, since a blister pack has to be fitted to the individual characters, while a box can be assembled the same way for lots of different sets and themes. Economies of scale might also be a factor, since I'm sure LEGO produces a lot more of the sets for general retail than these army builder packs, which mostly just show up at LEGO Brand Retail and LEGO.com. Simpler answer is that these army building packs are considered by TLG to be higher margin products. The way TLG compensates (or add value) is by giving us different torso prints and whatever silly accessories they want to include. While I like it to be a little cheaper, minifigures sell sets so without undermining existing sets they produce a small pack of minifigs that won't cannibalise their main offerings... And the marketing folks in TLG knows that. Edited May 3, 2016 by makoy Quote
Mr Greeble Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Flama's "sword" is a new piece? No, it is the Ninjago ghost sword piece. Quote
DraikNova Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 The new 4d mini movie trailer seems rather boring, but it features a pretty cool weird-legged wingless three-headed dragon creature. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 15$ is the same price as Castle 2013 battle packs, so it should be no surprise. I never bought those because forest ambush was a much better deal (and on discount). But with Nexo Knights there are no alternatives that are cheaper. Quote
Ralphel Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 hope lego will release battle packs for NK like the way they did for Chima Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 In it's last year perhaps? Clay with his clay bots, royal soldiers, and Aaron with his bots would all make for amazing sets. You never know, it could be in next year's set line up. Quote

TeriXeri Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 (edited) What I wonder about the most in terms of "character" sets, what they will do in terms of ultimate sets. Right now the only ones missing for a potential continued Lava monster wave could be Ultimate Moltor,Whipparella,Jestro. I wouldnt be surprised to be an Ultimate Ava,King or Queen set either. But then again, seeing the knight blister packs in 2014 came After the 2013 castle wave, this might mean 2016 is the last lava monster wave and 2017 summer might have plant and/or water monster packs. At least I rather see unused characters before doing a second ultimate version of the knights. I rather just see different variation/colors in the regular sets first, because right now if you collect all 2016 sets, you end up with 3 to 4 copies of each regular knight (some with slightly different weapon variations). 4 aaron/lance, 3 axl/clay/macy, and that's not including the Black knight set or magazine gifts. Of course I can understand that's intended to be multiple ways to get each knight, I just hope after 2 waves we get new prints. Edited May 5, 2016 by TeriXeri Quote
Aanchir Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 It's possible that LEGO wouldn't even do another round of "ultimate" sets in 2017. After all, lately some $10 items like the Legends of Chima tribe packs and Ninjago Airjitzu spinners have been constrained to one wave. Maybe the lackluster performance of the 2014 Speedorz sets has convinced LEGO that these kinds of gimmick/impulse series should be kept brief so they don't wear out their novelty. That said, I'd love Ultimate versions of Ava, King Halbert, and Queen Halbert! Quote
DraikNova Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Yeah, I'd love an ultimate version of Ava, both because it'd mean tr. purple pieces, but also because it'd almost definitely have a new mold for her iconic tablet. Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 Anybody know how much Axl's Tower Carrier and General Magmar's Siege Engine of Doom are supposed to cost? Those sets look like great fun, especially considering they're essentially the same type of vehicle. Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 5, 2016 Posted May 5, 2016 70321 General Magmar - $50 (surprisingly) 70322 Axl - $70 Quote
BrickJagger Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 It's May and we still have no images of the Black Knight's Mech...... 70321 General Magmar - $50 (surprisingly) 70322 Axl - $70 We've known this since NYTF Quote
BrickJagger Posted May 5, 2016 Author Posted May 5, 2016 I didn't even see that he asked that. Nevermind. Quote
