I think it's pretty extraordinary for a set to be under wraps for so long, yet the description is out for a long time.

I don't know if it's that extraordinary. Store exclusive sets can often be like that, especially summer ones that we find out about through set lists early in the year. I remember waiting AGES for the first Lightning Dragon Battle pictures back in Ninjago's first year.

It's not the only exclusive that doesn't have pictures yet, the 4th civil war set and the Ahsoka set are good examples of that.

According to CM4SCI, it's for sure happening. Back on topic, I've only gotten one set thus far. So I may just wait for stores to clearence these bad boys out. The ultimates are really cool, I just need to buy them.

Amazon had those ultimates for less, and so did some local retailers in the NL (Kruitvat) at 8€ normal price, instead of 10€ (and i'm waiting for another 2+1 free clearance).

If it's not the Black Mech, hope it at least will come in June, no official LEGO stores in The Netherlands I believe so seems the only option is to order S@H (the winter nexo knight exclusives aren't sold much here, especially not at lower then LEGO's pricing).

Regular retail been widely available, at highly variable prices as well

Hope they add an official store in Amsterdam or Schiphol Airport sometime.

Black Knight Mech is presumably a retailer-exclusive, not a D2C set. We may often get VIP early access for the latter, but it's never happened for the former.

That said, occasionally the stores at Legoland parks seem to get early access to certain themes, and that DOES seem to include store exclusives. Last year when I was at Legoland Billund in May they had the summer Friends sets ahead of schedule, including retailer exclusives like the Heartlake Airport that had not been seen up until that point.

LEGO Shop@Home Netherlands sadly lists them at €14,99 here.

I know it's different per country, €12,99 for Germany / France (and others). But that won't work if it's "LEGO Exclusive"

Yeah Brickset makes a difference in listings, the minfig blister packs been listed as "LEGO exclusive" while the other sets (library,infernox, 2x mechs) are "Retail - Limited". Just noticed that recently.

The lack of Globlins doesn't bother me (after all, it has four figures just like all the comparable battle packs). But I might have preferred if one of the monsters was replaced by a Scurrier, to better parallel the Squirebot in the Knights' Army pack, and similarly I wish one of the monsters had one of the rocky shields (as it is not only does it seem to lack a Nexo Power, unlike the other pack, but the ultimate packs remain the only way to get the stone Shields of Absorption).

In the Netherlands, at 14.99€, i think it's better to find 70310 and 70311 (battle blaster and catapult) at a discount. They've been available for as low as 6.50€, both containing one baddy and one soldier.

Almost every good guys sets, comes with a badguy figure, so for me the bad guy army builder pack really is too expensive. The soldier pack, i might get. But only one, because of the reason above

70318 Glob Lobber is also small set coming this summer, which contains the "flame thrower" character, so with the 3 small sets you get 1 of each bad guy and 3 soldiers (6 minifigs) for €30 or less (with discount).
