TheBrickPal Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 (edited) (which is why it's at the bottom because Brickset lists it's RRP at £40). I changed the price to the real (more expensive...) one in the database. It's weird how London Toy Fair got that wrong. £40 seems way cheap for what you get. Edited May 16, 2016 by Puffle Pal26 Quote
PicnicBasketSam Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 WOW! That's probably my favorite Knights' vehicle yet! Also, has Whiperella's hair been seen anywhere else? It's in LDD already for some reason. Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 WOW! That's probably my favorite Knights' vehicle yet! Also, has Whiperella's hair been seen anywhere else? It's in LDD already for some reason. It was used for the orcs from one the Hobbit sets. (http://brickset.com/sets/containing-part-6088065) This will be the second set to use the piece. Quote
Mr Greeble Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Finally pictures! I really want Whiperella, but don't want to buy the whole set. I'm trying to get all of the lava monsters... Quote
BrickJagger Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 I'm a little late to the party, but..... Love the fact that four figs, two of them exclusive, come with this set. I was expecting a Golem, but the Outpost (Which is a nice add-on to the Castle) and the undead hover horse certainly make up for it. 530 parts for just 40 bucks is a steal as well, but I think I've mentioned this before. I have to admit that I'm a little surprised that the grunt included in this set wasn't a Crust Smasher, because they only show up in one set this wave while the Ash Attackers are in Aaron's Arrow Striker, Axl's Tower Carrier, the Volcano Lair (2), and now the Black Knight's Mech. Whatever. It's also kind of strange that the Mech itself contains so much blue, but maybe an all-black mech would make it look evil. Overall, I like what I see. Day one purchase for me. Quote
Boogly22238 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Looks a lot better than the King's Mech. Though I can't help but think there should be more grey than blue, to go with the black scheme. Quote
Zergos Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Wish I could see robin up close. The set does look awesome though :D Quote
PenPlays Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 MY GOODNESS That Black Knight Mech is so much more than I wanted. It looks so good. Quote
Whatajoke Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Ok, I'm getting ultimate axl now. There's no way I'm getting fortrex or the tower carrier set for him. I think he has one of the better ultimate packs. The Fortrex is awesome. You should consider getting it. It's a great build Quote
x105Black Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I love that it comes with Ash Attacker. Great torso and legs, and increased availability is helpful. Quote
DraikNova Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Ironically, I'm probably the only one here who finds it underwhelming, despite loving every other set in the line. It's just so gappy and unpolished. Also, you know, it should be black. Probably still going to get it for parts and Whiparella, although the lack of a Spider Globlin dissapoints me. I'm probably going to use the parts from it to make a cockatrice for Robin, to continue my mecha-dragon project while keeping his chicken motif. And more silver swords means I can make it a mecha Yi Qi as well. Edited May 17, 2016 by DraikNova Quote
Kraby Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Looks fantastic, but I think I might swap the blue pieces for black or some dark grey. Quote
Turnman Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Minifigs aside, I actually like the King's Mech a lot more. This one looks like it has very short legs and thin chest. Looks more like a thin gorilla. The proportion on the KM on the other hand look great IMO. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Thanks for the pictures of the Black Knight Mech set! But, the set looks kinda..... odd. The legs of the mech, the minifigures and the side builds looks good, but the right arm of the mech and the torso of the mech looks weird and I think the launcher is poorly integrated into the shield at the left arm. Courge Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Thanks for info! Do You know what is the next mini build? Salut, I didn't buy this issue, so no. Sorry. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I changed the price to the real (more expensive...) one in the database. It's weird how London Toy Fair got that wrong. £40 seems way cheap for what you get. My thoughts too, I noticed that as soon as I saw the US price was $70. Normally a £40 set correlates to a $50-$60 tag in a non-licensed theme, so I was expecting the Tower Carrier to be about £50. £60 now seems a bit too expensive for what you get Sadly they didn't get Jestro's Volcano Lair's UK price wrong, I was hoping the LTF price was too high but alas, it is indeed £100. Of course, it's a lot of set for the money, but £100 price tags do tend to make me baulk slightly Of course though, General Magmar's set seems the best value of the lot in the UK, £35 is super value. And given it's similar in size to Axl's set... I honestly can't see where the extra £25 went in Axl's set. Burnzie correlates to a Hover Horse in terms of build so basically... Axl's Tower Carrier is an extra £25 for a fourth Nexo Power and a slightly larger vehicle and box? Back on the Black Knight Mech... The King's Mech was £30 in the UK, so I'm hoping the Black Knight is £35 (there's no way it's £30 because King's Mech)... but General Magmar's Siege Machine occupies that price spot so I have a bad feeling it's going to be £40 for us. So while the Siege Machine is more expensive than BKM in the US, the opposite may be true in the UK. I've studied the relationship between US and UK LEGO prices for years and I still don't completely understand it! Quote
8BrickMario Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 As long as we get Whiparella, I'm okay with it! Quote
Evildeadman Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) Thanks for info! Do You know what is the next mini build? I just got the new issue yesterday and next month has a Lava Warrior minifig! I'm looking forward to it as he definitely has a different look compared to the Flame Thrower. And here are the Spider Globlins from this month's issue terrorizing Ava! x105Black Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Awesome. He looks like an Ash Attacker with his helmet off! Quote
