Orange Leader Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I think the design of the Black Knight's Mech feels a bit underwhelming for my taste, I'd rather prefer the King's Mech. However, the parts and Whiperella are a nice touch. Quote
Evildeadman Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) While I think it is a nice enough set I do wish the Black Knight Mech looked a little more like the cartoon. Provided they are available I may look at swapping out the blue pieces with gray pieces when I get the set. I am super excited to get a proper knight Robin with helm and Whiparella though! I really hope we get a Queen Halbert in her battle armor at some point. I loved the scene in episode 10 where the King and Robin come out in their mechs and then the Queen comes out! Dr_Chronos Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 (edited) I'm very happy the Black Knight looks so different from the King's Mech (which was a fear I had regarding it's show appearance), but I'm not so sure I'll like it as much. The odd body and lack of knees is a little disappointing. I'd like to see a few more angles before deciding on whether or not to get it. Edited May 17, 2016 by Dr_Chronos Quote
NotMegalodon Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I'm not sure there are no knees? They might be articulated behind those black pieces (just above the grey Roof Tile 4X4 45Deg) Quote
Lyichir Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I'm not sure there are no knees? They might be articulated behind those black pieces (just above the grey Roof Tile 4X4 45Deg) In the non-box picture, you can actually see behind one of the black flag pieces and it's clear that the upper and lower legs are connected by a pair of fixed-angle Technic connectors side-by-side, rather than any sort of hinge. I can't see any way they could be articulated. I can see why knee joints would be omitted, since the legs end up looking decent and are probably sturdier that way than they would be with hinges. But I definitely prefer the King's Mech, which looks much better and has more articulation to boot. Quote

BrickJagger Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 Keep in mind this was the rumored Castle thread from last January. Well, I would know. I made it. The 2017 NK thread probably won't get close to this number of replies simply because it will probably be started in August instead of January and we already know what NK is this time around. That is, unless this becomes a super thread like the 08/09 Castle thread, but I doubt that will happen. Quote

Rayskull Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I might try to Shrink the Black Knight Mech. I love the grandness of it and the way the cockpit / neck works, but the Belly is kind of weird, especially compared with kings Mech. Quote
Tazakk Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I just got the new issue yesterday and next month has a Lava Warrior minifig! I'm looking forward to it as he definitely has a different look compared to the Flame Thrower. Apologies for the off-topic question, but is that an ad for a new Bionicle magazine down in the corner of those images? Quote

TeriXeri Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Black Knight mech set is nice imo, wouldn't have liked a 100% recolored cloned king's mech model at all, so I don't mind the differences from King's mech, and the blue isn't ruining it for me either. Kind of surprised they changed the shield shape (from the show) and used a Rubber missile instead of using one of those fist pieces used in ultimate AXL But it might have been used to save space & weight. (in the show a fist comes out the shield after it opens 2 half-shield panels). King's mech has a somewhat weight problem for the shield/vehicle. The addition of a generic kingdom squire bot is okay (Robin isn't a full knight so does not have it's own "chicken" squirebot yet). Having a different colored Robin is even better because "ultimate" robin used his standard blue/azure minfiig and this one seems to use grey arms and black legs. On the bad guy side, the vehicle is a nice counterpart of hoverhorse, and even has spring loaded missiles integrated for offense. The structure/prison doesn't add a whole lot in terms of looks on it's own, but as a collector it will be a nice addition to the Jestro's Lair, and will fit it's design. Summer wave uses a lot of Ash Attackers but they look cool, and the black lance they use is also nice (2 in Jestro's lair have it also). Makes sense if they are like the closest of jestro's guards since they got the most armor out of the 3, that's how I see it anyway. (I haven't classified the battlepack guards yet) King's mech seems to have actually been built later in the show as an effort to defend the city so it might be an updated model with articulated knees :P Now we know all winter/summer sets and got all villains covered in toy form. (spider globlins only came with magazine so far however) despite them being in the game/show and on this: All that's left (for 2016) really is the minfig that comes with the book "The Book of Knights" and further magazine sets. NotMegalodon Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) If you buy all the sets once, i think you have like 15 monster army figs, not counting the goblins and scurriers, nor the named villains. I think you'll only have 5 soldiers. So another reason for me to get the soldier army pack, and not the monsters pack (because i'm planning to get all the sets of 2016). I do wish there would be a scurrier (+ goblins) army pack. Edited May 18, 2016 by NotMegalodon Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Sets are out in places, saw someone's picture of the Ultimate Axl with a weird number on the side of his chest. Quote

On the side of my normal Axl, it says 34x5. It's probably a part of the mold to help to identify it, but I personally do not know why it's there. Quote

DraikNova Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I doubt they'll put them on BaP. Why wouldn't they? Scurriers are just another minifig variant, and outside of licensed themes, minifigs get put up on BaP. Meanwhile, globlins are just printed balljoints. Quote

Meanwhile, globlins are just printed balljoints. They have the lists of parts on Bricks and Pieces now. Some are still unavailable, but it looks like the lists are complete. There are no minifigures, as far as I can tell. I was looking to get Ash Attacker pieces, but they are not in the lists. I was also looking to get Lance's visor, but it is the only Knight visor that is not in the lists. Quote

I recently discovered a lucky find of this canopy half sphere with handle that wasn't available when It was recently released. The Nexo Knights parts that are out of stock or not even listed should be showing up later this year is my guess. As for the minifigures, that's a tough one. I get the impression TLG is more strict in selling torso's and helmets through BaP than last year. But hopefully I'm wrong. Got the entire 1st wave too. To all people; show off your collections! I can only imagine how huge the first year of all NK sets could be. Quote
