BrickJagger Posted May 30, 2016 Author Posted May 30, 2016 So I felt pretty good about the summer wave hitting June 1st in the US but it doesn't look like its going to happen. There's no units showing quantities in Target's inventory checker and the set listings aren't on the US S@H. Its a bummer because I wanted to get the park statue giveaway. The question is, will it be July, August like the toy fair said, or some random date like the City sets that came out May 22nd? That kind of stuff also confuses me. Ninjago was probably delayed until March so Nexo Knights could be the main focus for its first wave in January. That makes sense. However, what exactly is the advantage of having both summer waves come out in August? That's an abnormally long seven month wait for Nexo, and since both have fairly large summer waves the market will be flooded with new NK, Ninjago and Star Wars sets. And to top it off the Europeans seem to be getting the new sets almost three months before we do, but not the new Ninjago sets. Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Jestro's base is superb, just superb. Everything works - it's full of play features, interesting parts and great on display. Well done to the designer! I do love the general absurdity of it too - a bed? A bath? Why not! Edited May 30, 2016 by TheBrickHitHouse Quote
Mr Greeble Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Too bad. I was looking forward to buying most of the summer wave for my birthday in July. Same. Quote

It's not a delay, it's a marketing strategy. You have two contenders for the "boys (primarily) action theme." Release the brand new one first, and then save the more memorable, more famous one for later in the year so that it doesn't cannibalized the new theme's sales. Quote

Sorry If that was worded poorly, but your post was exactly what I meant by that. Quote

Lego has been doing a really good job this year making sure that there is at least something new releasing every month. For all we know, the Nexo Knights sets may be releasing in July. That is fun to have regular house stuff in an incredibly harsh environment evil lair. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Have you guys ever wondered how nexo knights battle packs would look like? :) Quote
Rayskull Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Have you guys ever wondered how nexo knights battle packs would look like? :) Not counting the 4 packs? Quote

PenPlays Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Have you guys ever wondered how nexo knights battle packs would look like? :) Perhaps you should have waited until images surfaced, you tease... I'm hoping that this isn't setting the precedence for the theme's future. The last time we got battle packs in an action theme... it died rather swiftly. *ahem* So what are the new villains? The last time we got battle packs in an action theme... it died rather swiftly. The last time we got battle packs in an action theme was with Ninjago, just last year. I guess you were referring to the Chima battle packs, but even that theme lasted three years. I wouldn't call that "dying swiftly" at all. Quote
TeriXeri Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) Have you guys ever wondered how nexo knights battle packs would look like? :) I wouldn't mind actual paper boxed battlepacks replacing Ultimate Sets, especially with the rumours of highly diversity in plant and water monsters. Especially don't want to see Ultimate knighton version 2.0 anytime soon unless they add new characters like King/Queen/Ava. I rather see a few medium to big quality location sets in 2017, preferably structures over vehicles, and use the battlepacks to grow the monster armies. Edited May 31, 2016 by TeriXeri Quote
x105Black Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Have you guys ever wondered how nexo knights battle packs would look like? :) Not really, but I doubt you'll tell us anyways. I'm expecting the Zombie Businessman's hair in black, though. Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 My bad, I was just joking about the hair (thus the wink). No worries. Lets get back on topic, apparently we're seeing those leaked villains next year. Although, not sure if they're all going to be in the same wave or seperate. Quote

Robert8 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 So, season 2 will be still about the lava monsters Does that mean that we're getting more sets with lava villains? Quote

ezaida18 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I was wondering whether the Jestro minifigure in the Evil Mobile set is the same one as in the upcoming Lair set? In addition, I have the King's Mech and need to pair it against something wicked. Should it be Jestro's mobile or Infernox? :) Quote

As for matching up the King Mech definately Infernox is the direct rival in size, the other 2 lava monsters (sparkks/burnzie) are a lot smaller in comparison Also infernox is shown in the orange book in 2 sets this summer wave, so hopefully we see him in season 2 of the show as well.
