Amazing Bricks Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Leaked? You mean those guys in the Book of Monsters? The water and plant monsters Quote
Darkfox190 Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 The water and plant monsters I can't even begin to describe how excited I am to see a bigger variety of monster themes beyond "fire guys". I'm also kind of hoping that Monstrux returns and kicks Jestro to the curb, leading to a heel-face turn for Jestro. Quote
DraikNova Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) Personally, I'm hoping for the opposite situation, where Jestro responds to an attempted betrayal by the book of monsters by out-eviling it, partially because it would mean we wouldn't just get another boring heel-face turn, partially because it'd be amusing and kind of nice to see Jestro succeed at what he's good at. Lyichir Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 I think that the Book of Monsters might be Monstrox. The Book of Monsters heavily implies that. I'd seen people suggest that the book implied that the Book of Monsters was AFRAID of him, but after reading it myself, that's not quite right—it's more like it's talking his fearsomeness up. Coupled with a ton of coy statements about Monstrox being "very close by" and threatening the reader with Monstrox's return. Beyond that, the face is even the same. It seems pretty evident that The Book of Monsters is Monstrox, trapped in the form of a book by Merlok, and presumably regaining his old form is the Book of Monsters' endgame. Quote

So NexoKnights isn't coming out in the US until August? Quote
Takanuinuva Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 So maybe Monstrux was a wizard like Merlock and was turned into the Book of Monsters. And the other books of evil were Monstrux's powers just drained and made into books and the book of monsters wants to reclaim that power? Quote
Lyichir Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 So maybe Monstrux was a wizard like Merlock and was turned into the Book of Monsters. And the other books of evil were Monstrux's powers just drained and made into books and the book of monsters wants to reclaim that power? Pretty much. On page 5 of the Book of Monsters: Okay, back to it: What Merlok did long ago was he trapped all the evilness in the realm in a bunch of magic books. Why? Well, because an evil necromancer had assembled an army and was going to take over the kingdom. Didn't happen. All thanks to that Mer-loser guy. Merlok made sure that this library o' evil was locked up tight. Me, the Book of Monsters, he kept in a special force field because, well, I AM DANGEROUS! Merlok knows this because he knows who I really am... Quote

benderisgreat Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Book of Monsters is definitely Monstrox, probably cursed by Merlock. I mean if you read BoM it's heavily hinted at. Back to the topic, I hope in next season BoM finally ditches Jestro and gets a new "owner" , so new bad guy means new monsters like water or tree based seen in the Book itself. Quote
Peasantseverywhere Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Jestro's Volcano Lair review by me set for Thursday on Brickset. Is this up yet - I am absolutely dying to see it Quote

Mr Greeble Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Maybe the monsters will harness the Nexo Knights technology and create a hologram for Monstrox as a parallel for Merlok... Quote
Aanchir Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Maybe the monsters will harness the Nexo Knights technology and create a hologram for Monstrox as a parallel for Merlok... My brother suggested something like that and then I joked that that'd make him "the e-book of monsters". Quote

BrickJagger Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) The water and plant monsters Knew it! Happy to hear this. We've already seen quite a few of the Plant monsters, as well as some of the water monsters. They seem to follow the same formula as the lava monsters, with regular soldiers, golems, scurrier sized creatures and globlins, which I'm okay with since it worked well the first time around. Also happy that Mustard is finally confirmed to be a real figure after last year's debate. The question is whether or not the water monsters are actually coming out in 2018, as opposed to the Plant monsters coming out next January and the Water monsters next summer. I would assume that the latter is the case, because if Lego has Nexo planned out for a three year run then I find it unlikely that they would reveal the main villains of the final year in year one. Just my thoughts. For Reference, here are the Plant and Water monsters in question: For those who want some pics of the book of monsters here are some interesting vilains. Last one is described as he is feared by the book of monsters itself. I'll translate some monsters description if needed. There are clearly two main species of monsters that are shown : water & forest (3 if you count the lava ones we already know) We'll see if one kind will end in final products If you like the show, I recommand you to buy the book - lovely artworks and humour & jokes for each page (well jokes aimed for kids, don't expect more) More from sticker book: https://plus.google....bc-6b2157d8e9d4 Check out that guy with the fork for a hand Edited June 3, 2016 by BrickJagger Quote
DraikNova Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) I really hope they actually make the flyspear. Tr. clear with glitter would be my guess for how they'd pull that off. And bonus points if they include the fishbowl globlins and/or the scurrier variants in battle packs or other efficient ways to get them. And I never realized this, but the water monsters already have an equivalent for the big golems with mace hands. Edited June 3, 2016 by DraikNova Quote
x105Black Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 The plant and water monsters will be a welcome addition to the theme. I hope they each last 1 year. Quote
