just2good Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 BB? Battle something perharps? Big Bang = AKA the big new IP of 2016. Like Chima and Ninjago. So yeah, this. Quote
Isundir Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 For the love of hype I need a reveal, I can't hold it much longer... Quote
Pulp Detective Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) The excitement I have for this theme is something I haven't felt since Atlantis and Power Miners.I really hope this theme doesn't disappoint because thus far everything that had been said about it is like a dream come true. Btw do we know when we'll get leaked information from the retailer catalogue?? Edited August 1, 2015 by LOTR34 Quote
PenPlays Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 For those curious what is meant by "Big Bang." (Apparently) the term has been tossed around internally to describe a release of product backed by a huge media campaign similar to Ninjago's 2011 and Chima's 2013. I do think that, if it is officially called "Big Bang," then Lego's casual Big Bang Theory fans are going to be very misled. Quote
BrickJagger Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 C4MS missed a couple of sets in this theme because they were hidden in the list, so by my count we have PT 1-8 and four HY's. I'm willing to bet that the PT's are regular sets and the HY's are figure packs. Twelve sets for the winter wave is pretty nice and keep in mind that we also are going to get a summer wave. PS shoutout to Robert8, I bought two KK2 sets today. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Who is C4MS? Is the Sci not showing up for anyone but me? I don't know anything about a 'future steampunk castle' thing. EDIT: Another book. Edited August 2, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
Nagol of Fortfield Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Who is C4MS? Is the Sci not showing up for anyone but me? I don't know anything about a 'future steampunk castle' thing. EDIT: Another book. That looks promising! Quote
Robert8 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Big Bang = AKA the big new IP of 2016. Like Chima and Ninjago. So yeah, this. oops! .... thanks For those curious what is meant by "Big Bang." (Apparently) the term has been tossed around internally to describe a release of product backed by a huge media campaign similar to Ninjago's 2011 and Chima's 2013. I do think that, if it is officially called "Big Bang," then Lego's casual Big Bang Theory fans are going to be very misled. I didn't hear about that term before. So, that means this rules out Castle for being that mysterious theme? Because Castle is everything but new. PS shoutout to Robert8, I bought two KK2 sets today. Quote
The Cobra Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 HY probably means "Half of the year", 1 meaning first half. I don't know about PT. Playtheme? Playset would make more sense. But I DO know I would have loved a new fantasy era Castle theme way more than I will like steampunk. Come on Lego, drop my jaw. Quote
Alcarin Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 It would be funny if there would be no new Castle next year, just because of the hype for it :P Quote
Hive Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 It would be funny if there would be no new Castle next year, just because of the hype for it :P No, it really wouldn't. Quote
just2good Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 PT are just normal sets. Don't know what it specifically stands for, but that's what they are. Quote
Alfadas Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Okay, thanks. Now I kinda know what we are talking about here. Indeed, I would have loved a Fantasy Era theme waay more than Steampunk. Quote
thetang22 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Indeed, I would have loved a Fantasy Era theme waay more than Steampunk. I've seen this sort of comment a few times now...but it seems people are misinterpreting the rumor. It is not a Steampunk theme, according to the rumors of this thread. It is a Castle/Fantasy theme, with "light" Steampunk influences. I'm not sure what is hard to understand about that. Quote
CaptainToad Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) Okay, thanks. Now I kinda know what we are talking about here. Indeed, I would have loved a Fantasy Era theme waay more than Steampunk. I guess it all depends on what the final product will be. If its done well, I think steampunk could be awesome, if its done bad fantasy could be aweful. Edited August 2, 2015 by CaptainToad Quote
greenalfonzo Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 How about something like this: Steam(train)punk Castle enough? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Something like that would be awesome. I hope it's something like time twisters. Quote
thetang22 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) How about something like this: Steam(train)punk Castle enough? Ugh....that is HIDEOUS as a Castle/Fantasy theme with light influence of steampunk. It's just a big mish-mash with poor design focus. This is proper castle/fantasy with a light influence of steampunk done correctly, in my opinion: Edited August 2, 2015 by thetang22 Quote
Regenerate builder Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 100% agree with the tang22. I would be okay with the picture you posted (it's actually pretty awesome). I would not be okay with that goofy looking circus train. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 thetang22 that would be amazing! I swear by god I'd buy the entire theme in a second Quote
SirBlake Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 That time twisters set is a train wreck. (See what I did there?) I agree that the painting with the derigables looks great. Quote
Naijel Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Something like that picture would be awesome! They could use the hot air baloon elements from that Friends set in tan... On another topic, do you remember when Elves sets were rumoured and turned out to not be what was expected? What if the new theme also uses.... MINIDOLLS!!! Do not want.
