Posted January 26, 201510 yr Good day, It has been 5 years since I've built anything with LEGO but recently I've started on this. After designing the model in LDD the past 2 weeks it has now been built with real bricks. I really like the outcome. It has a working steering wheel and other details. I'm planning to redesign my older 2 rods using this new platform and steering technique followed by an entirely new car I'm allready working on in my head. Hope you like it too, any input is appreciated. Thank you. Kevin https://www.flickr.com/photos/46736604@N07/

January 26, 201510 yr Great model! I especially love the last picture showing off the beautiful engine and steering mechanism.
January 26, 201510 yr Great Hotrod, esp. the steering mechanism. Does it actually has some ground clearance - it's not visible from the pictures for me.
January 26, 201510 yr NIcely done. Few weeks ago I asked if one can do hypoid gears with the current lego assortment of parts and it seems you did just that, for the steering mrchanism. Does it have 'perfect' meshing in both directions or do teeth tend to skip now and then?

Thank you, as for the ground clearance it's an absolute minimum.. Front is 1mm and rear 2-3mm.. It's driveable but front end scrapes ;) First version I've made rolled at least 3-4mm higher but looks were less therefor I chose to drop it further. Kevin NIcely done. It works best turning right ;) But if you add a little presure on top of the angled gears it works very smoothly tho. Unfortunatly there isn't enough pressure generated by the body ;) Kevin Edited January 26, 201510 yr by Perterz
January 26, 201510 yr Really cool!!! The only thing I would change are the rear tyres - those used are to off road for me, some racing tires would feat better imho. Otherwise good job!

Thank you. Yes indeed the reartires don't really fit, I'm on the look out for other tires on BrickLink but I'm not sure which ones to order yet. Kevin
