Lady K Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 That's quite the threat there, Catarina. I can say that I don't have the most votes against me so there's that, for starters. Let's see, what else... OH, what makes you think that you can decide for everyone else? That's what it looks like to me. But hey, if I do get chopped down over the night, at least you'd be a great suspect then. For now, I will gladly engrave that on my bark. Besides, you've done the very same thing before, for the record. And for those who are doubting my claim on not having my internet working, you can ask Comcast. They shut it down for a few hours then I had to go out and when I got back, that is when I made my second post. I don't think I need to explain it more. My, my but aren't you getting a little too defensive here? I didn't threaten you, I asked for clarification. You were already on my suspected maple list. No where did I indicate I could decide for everyone else. And voting can still change pretty rapidly before the deadline. I'm prepared to sacrifice myself to save the rest of the oaks in this forest, are you? Oh and you didn't even clarify one thing for me, interesting and noted.
Brickelodeon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 You know how I said that I hadn't seen anything overtly Maple? Forget it. This is at the very least unhelpful townie metagaming in a very badly thought-out attempt to cast off suspicion on people who were the bad guys in previous situations, blatantly disregarding the fact that roles can change from one game to the next. And I also second this, therefore; Vote: Alistair Pear. This is you saying "I have no clue what I'm talking about, so I will quote someone who seems to know what he is doing and make myself look smart". When I see you in tree heaven, after all of this is over, and all of the Oaks are dead because they let a maple slip under the radar, I will wave my middle branch in your face and say "should have listened, should have listened". It's like you didn't even try to understand what I was saying. And I am not trying to put suspicions on any particular set of trees, I am pointing out that in every past experience I have had, I died because I let people who didn't talk slip under the radar.
Calanon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Oh wow, there is a lot of reading ahead for me to do. Time to catch up...
mostlytechnic Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Alright, finally through all the pages. Some of these comments have been made by others, but if it's true it's worth repeating. Right now, Bobby and Bruce seem most suspicious to me. Bobby for his editing shenanigans, and Bruce for his curious behavior. I'm going to hold off and see what Bruce has to say before I vote... Yeah, lots of talk about this. I don't think an edit mistake is particularly suspicious, I think you're trying to start an easy lynch since someone has a bunch of penalty votes. Okay Hazel, I am satisfied. But I would like to see you a lot more active. Another topic that's been beaten to death, so my final thoughts are that Hazel didn't earn the un-poke at all yet (when this comment was made and unvoted). If the poke was to get her talking, she'd only said "hey I've been gone and I'm back." You should have at LEAST waited for some substance to come from Hazel's holes [we don't have mouths, so I assume we talk from the holes that trees always seem to have] before unvoting. So, scumbuddies? I mean, I've poked and unpoked in other woodland hunts, but the poke-ee has to earn the unpoke at least a little. This was a welfare check. As much as I want to, it's hard to determine a good candidate when it's day one and everyone has been posting nonsense? Besides, me being me, I seem to get the boot no matter who I vote for... Yeah, this and the random vote comment. Yep, odds are an oak will be lynched by mistake today and it'll be for some dumb reason. But at least we can then look over everyone's comments and voting to try to detect the mapley ones. If you're openly just voting randomly, there's nothing we can learn there. So that is a very un-oaky attitude. Pick someone worth voting for and give a reason so we can analyze it later when you or they have been cut down. I have to admit that I find it terribly difficult to pick a tree to have cut down. I've been catching up with what has been going on and one thing just bugs me. Hazel blaming her inactivity on the intreenet. Nowadays there are plenty ways to gain access to the web. At home, at work during your break, on your phone while taking a dump, heck when you buy a big mac or a pumpkin spice latte you'll get free wifi. So I... Meh, it's legit to not have access for a while, sorry. Many workplaces don't ahve wifi, cell doesn't work everywhere, etc. Now, the lack of much followup now that Hazel's had time is a different story, but voting her for THIS reason seems poor to me.
Calanon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 After reading through the thread, Alistair has also struck me as the best candidate for today. When I see you in tree heaven, after all of this is over, and all of the Oaks are dead because they let a maple slip under the radar, I will wave my middle branch in your face and say "should have listened, should have listened". It's day 1. Even if you are oak and we lynch you by accident, it does not mean the game is lost. We are not in a tight spot right now - why are you making threats like this? We can look back at what you said if you turn up oak. Vote: Alastair Pear (Brickelodeon)
Yzalirk Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 My, my but aren't you getting a little too defensive here? I didn't threaten you, I asked for clarification. You were already on my suspected maple list. No where did I indicate I could decide for everyone else. And voting can still change pretty rapidly before the deadline. I'm prepared to sacrifice myself to save the rest of the oaks in this forest, are you? Oh and you didn't even clarify one thing for me, interesting and noted. You basically did though... So when you say that you'd "sacrifice" yourself, why is that? You don't think we should all vote for the person who appears the most scummy, to us all? Or what you are really trying to get at is you want us to vote for you? I'm getting a feeling that there could be a Jester, and if there is, that may be you...
Lego Spy Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Yeah, lots of talk about this. I don't think an edit mistake is particularly suspicious, I think you're trying to start an easy lynch since someone has a bunch of penalty votes. Which I repealed, and stated my mistake over 12 hours ago.
mostlytechnic Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Which I repealed, and stated my mistake over 12 hours ago. Ok, fine, you were trying to start an easy lynch and gave up when it failed. Better?
Dragonfire Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I've also caught up and read the previous few pages. Alistair is looking rather suspicious, but his comments could have been down to newbie inexperience and typing before he thought. I'll vote for him if it's nearing the deadline and nothing really has changed, because a lynch is always better than a no-lynch, but although he will definitely remain on my scum list, he doesn't get my vote right now. Chester is also pinging my scum-dar. I know people have already given these reasons, but his post accusing Bobby of editing could come across as scum trying to push a lynch off penalty votes (or it could just be a newbie error). Besides, his concern about how he'll look if he joins a bandwagon rubs me the wrong way. His vote for Alistair is also off-putting because in the last game I played on Eurobricks, Chester was mafia;; he voted around the middle point of the bandwagon with little justification and turned out to be scum. He's displaying similar behaviour here... But my vote is going to remain on Agnes. He has posted since my vote, but all he did was OMGUS vote me and type a few lines of poorly recycled reasoning against me that others had already used. I had two votes on me at that point and it seemed as if he was trying to get momentum on my wagon. Furthermore, my vote on him was merely a poke to get him to speak. I never said he was a Maple, so the OMGUS reaction was not called for.
Lady K Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 You basically did though... So when you say that you'd "sacrifice" yourself, why is that? I'm getting a feeling that there could be a Jester, and if there is, that may be you... You really want me to vote for you, don't you. And you still refuse to clarify what I asked you to. Vote: Hazel Hazelnut (Goliath)
Brickelodeon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I have given it much thought, and I have decided to vote for Miss Dogwood. Even after everyone else had ceased (or at least tried to) the puns and fluff, she kept right on going with it. After she got poked, she reacted rather aggressively, and she has been doing a bit if threatening and other such overly defensive scum behavior. Vote: Catarina Dogwood (adventurer1) I'm sure that some of you will say "teaming up with Hazel eh?", but let me assure you that Hazel is second on my scum list. She is playing erratically, almost as if she is taking the game as a joke. She seems to be trying too hard to seem town-like, and her nooby way of talking has gotten me in trouble too.
Hinckley Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 I'm sure that some of you will say "teaming up with Hazel eh?", but let me assure you that Hazel is second on my scum list. So, you think Hazel is voting for her teammate right now? So, you think Hazel is voting for her teammate right now? Sorry. I'm mixing people up.
Brickelodeon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 It's definitely a possibility Simon, it's a good way for maples to gain trust.

So you are voting for me because I am voting for Hazel? Really? Hazel hasn't clarified anything I asked her to. Hazel is the one getting defensive. And you are watching her back. With all the votes for you, because you supported/defended Hazel on Day 1, and your still doing it? This screams that you are both maples. Please, show me where I am getting aggressive and overly defensively scum behavior. And I can assure you (from a previous tree life) that Hazel and you are not noobs.
Hinckley Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 It's definitely a possibility Simon, it's a good way for maples to gain trust. Hazel is voting for Larry, though, right?
Brickelodeon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So you are voting for me because I am voting for Hazel? Really? Excuse me, but what? When did I ever say that? You just totally rejected everything I said and substituted it with bull fertilizer. According to your theory, neither me nor Hazel is a noob, yet we are both Maples and are both acting like noobs? Everyone knows that maples will do their best to seem at odds with each other, which is what you are doing. The more you talk, the happier I am with my vote. Hazel is voting for Larry, though, right? But Catarina is voting for Hazel. You said that you got them mixed up again.

I never said you were maples acting like noobs. I said the two of you are not noobs. And I said your behavior and Hazel's behavior put together just screams that you are maple buddies.
Hinckley Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 But Catarina is voting for Hazel. You said that you got them mixed up again. There we go. So my question is legitimate. I shouldn't be posting from class.
JackJonespaw Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 But my vote is going to remain on Agnes. I realize that it was a poke, but at the time you were under scrutiny by many, and it seemed too much like a diversion to avoid attention by deflecting it onto me.
Scaevola Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Ah, I see that I have acquired even more votes since I went into dormancy. You pretty much just said the opposite of what is really true. I'm not giving up, I'm just trusting in the brains of logical people to realize that voting for me is dumb. The only "evidence" against me is that people thought I was okay with Hazel throwing out a random vote, which I'm not okay with. I said I might vote for Hazel if I think she is the best candidate, but right now I'm not quite sure. My opinion flaps in the breeze? What makes you say that? I've stuck with my defense the whole way through, nobody feels like listening right now. Think about it people, my initial response to Hazel's bandwagoning pinged you as maple-y, but I've said multiple times that I don't like it. I removed me vote from Hazel before I saw that she was going to randomly vote. You need to read what I said. I didn't say I would vote for him at the end of the day, I said we should keep it in mind for later days, in case nothing came up. Just because I say that I don't think someone is a maple, doesn't mean I won't change my mind after more evidence surfaces. Someone can seem maple-y without me thinking they are actually a maple. You specifically said that Hazel voting for a random was justified. Just read my bolded quote of your dialogue (Post 230). Which I might add, you conveniently ignored. To Lego Spy: A timid oak is worthless. Vote for who you think is scummy. Only a maple would need to worry about being held in scrutiny. Your overzealous worry about your personal reputation is noted.
jluck Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 So you are voting for me because I am voting for Hazel? Really? Hazel hasn't clarified anything I asked her to. Why is it everytime you get caused your reaction is "you must be scum for voting for me" & "now I'm suspecting you for suspecting me"? (Im on my mobile, but I'll be happy to go back and provide examples as soon as I'm home) People having suspicions is not only normal, it's necessary. This reactionary behavior stifles positive conversation. In other words, I'm sticking with my vote. Where do we stand on votes? (Again, mobile or I'd check myself)
Hinckley Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 To Lego Spy: You mean Chester. Respect the Elder.
Brickelodeon Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 That is a good point. And I can see how it seems maple-y. I took Hazels response to mean that her intreenet has been, and still is, out. Looking back now, I think she meant that it was working again. This is what I answered. You are right in that I justified her voting for a random player. I misunderstood what she had said, but I was still wrong to justify it.
Dragonfire Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 And "poor recycled reasoning" in this case means agreeing with others? I realize that it was a poke, but at the time you were under scrutiny by many, and it seemed too much like a diversion to avoid attention by deflecting it onto me. By "poorly recycled reasoning", I meant that you took things that Clem and Bruce had said and just copied them out. You didn't bring anything new to the table, didn't ask me to elucidate on my comments, and told me that my vote on you was an attempt to divert attention from myself. How would my vote on you divert attention from myself? I voted you to get you to speak up. I did not think you were a Maple, and I didn't expect anyone else to. And what's wrong with not wanting to be suspected/scrutinised? Most players, town or scum ,would prefer not to be scum-read/attacked.
