Oh woah, I didn't see that we can't quote what others send us. That's so weird. Oh well, give me my penalties, it doesn't matter.

Spruce is playing what I believe is his scum game.

Thank you. :sweet:

I told Bruce to unvote me as an experiment. I figured that about half of you were bandwagoning, and would change your vote as soon as he did. I figured it would help us find some maples.

I think I'm pretty much screwed today, but I would like to point out:

6. You may not quote/post anything sent to you by another player via PM. If you wish to use information gained in this way, you must do so in your own words only.

Bruce is breaking rule 6, and he should get 13 auto votes on him.

Why would you want Bruce to have 13 votes? Your PM to him seems to believe 100% that he is a Townie. Why are you so certain about him?

I'm pretty sure he's joking, since 13 votes would save him.

Don't miss my point. What makes him so sure Bruce is an Oak? He seems very confident. One way he could be that confident is if he's a Maple and knows that Bruce is an Oak.

If Alastair is Scum, and I'm saying if then his request for Bruce to help disband the bandwagon could be really telling. The entire assumption behind asking Bruce is that he's the Speedy Oakiest of Oaks. That would mean if Alastair is Scum, he's asking who he sees as the Town leader to disband the Town bandwagon. The request assumes that all the voters are Townie. How else would the entire bandwagon fall apart?

Maybe Maples would lose confidence in it too... Maybe my thought isn't fully thought out. :sceptic: But I thought it was worth discussion.

It is definitely worth discussion. IF he's scum, I would indeed think any scum who voted for him are in trouble now, since being the first to jump off would paint a target on them. But then, if we wanna go crazy conspiracy, maybe BOTH of them are scum and did this whole fake PM thing to justify unvoting, but since several of us didn't support it they're still stuck and now looking for a new way off the wagon.

But the flaw in that thought that he's scum - surely it'd be easier to pick a new day 1 victim and start a new bandwagon on flimsy evidence than go through all this to try to unvote him. It's gotta be easier to make a new target than to just remove a target.

I don't think the timing is right for that. And I think it's a ridiculously risky gambit for two Scum. They'd be much more likely to both get caught.

Let's assume that's true - what would you determine from it? Would the maples jump off the wagon first? Or would those changing votes to follow the leader be lazy oaks?

I agree, which is why I called it a crazy conspiracy idea and then pointed out the flaws in thinking this is a scum move.

I can assure you that Bruce and I were not in coordination. He PMed me, my guess is so that he could get some information from me before I got lynched, and I figured we could try to catch some maples by seeing who would jump off the bandwagon. He seems to have backstabbed me, but that's okay. I was going to get lynched whether he wanted to help or not. He just forfeited an opportunity to catch some maples.

Why are people even calling me a leader? I don't want to be the leader.

I just meant leader in that if you jumped off the bandwagon first, others would play follow the leader. Who knows who the town "leader" will be since that usually takes days and investigations and stuff to come out. I've heard of forests where there's extra voting to pick spokespersons and stuff, but none of that here.

Wrong. It tells us who is wishy-washy and who doesn't want to get noticed.

No, it mostly tells who lives in the right time zone to be online after the first person jumped.

Well, you were the first one. You called yourself the strongest Oak. :sceptic:

Jumping off first is pretty noticeable.

Well, let's look at it this way: the majority of your questions boil down to "I think you're scum... what do you think about that?" A short rebuttal was sufficient to give my answer - I think that's fine. You are entitled to your own opinions, even bad ones.

Fair enough, let's see if you can sway my opinion by the end of this day by being a convincing Oak.

I'm not sure who you mean by "our" - I'm being voted by you and William (who's just salty I called him a dick and was wary of him at Daystart), everyone else seems to trust me just fine. What am I doing to earn your trust, you mean? Nothing. I don't need your trust. I'm funneling my energy into catching scum - Alastair, Berty, and possibly Catarina (although it's looking slightly less likely for her now). You might try it sometime.

It's been pointed out already that nobody should trust you (or anyone else) yet. But don't dismiss the importance of my trust, because if I don't trust you I will stick to your leafy megablocks until the day one of us dies!

As for Alastair, his behavior is really troubling, yeah. Every word that comes out of his trunk uproots him even farther. However, I'd like to bring attention back to his cosplay phase, he used to dress up like a Ghostbuster or something? I don't know, it was wacky. Either way, his behavior there was very similar to how it is now. I talked to him a bit in private since I was having a few doubts (largely because of some of the people on his wagon), and he asked me to save him in a really desperate, scummy way.

I can assure you that Bruce and I were not in coordination. He PMed me, my guess is so that he could get some information from me before I got lynched, and I figured we could try to catch some maples by seeing who would jump off the bandwagon. I don't read this as a "really desperate, scummy" move. It's not a move I can imagine a Maple team suggest to their endangered team member, because there's no reason why Bruce (assuming he's Oak) would have played along. It looks more like an idea a lonely Oak could come up with. Or a lonely 'other variety of tree' for that matter, if there is such a thing. That's my 2 cents, anyway.

I guess I could see this. I don't know, Alastair worries me. He's so desperate it almost seems sincere at times, but this is his Maple play...

Plus, who else would we lynch at this point?

I don't know. The end of Day One always weirds me out. I'm overthinking.

Speaking of the end of day 1, how close are we? We're getting to the point now where we need to lock in a lynch or risk having a no lynch day

Oh my gosh, 4 new pages to read through but I have had a hard time to get into this gam... forest. I don´t know if it is the amount of trees and/or the amount of trees that I am unfamiliar with that does it but I have been on a slow motion thats for sure. More than usual day 1s.

But what I have catched up is, Bobby (is Goliath right) hasn´t also been around much and then has done some relly fluffy comments about not really knowing who to vote for, I can understand if one hasn´t followed a game this big than once a day, it is hard to get into it... and it is day 1.

then there is Catarina was at some point doing some fluffy comments. I have to read through these pages more to see what the thing is here.

But then the big thing Alastair is on the lynch vagon and Bruce the PM tree is also mixed into the soup.

What I have read and got so far is, I think Bruces game here remains about an other forest, Collectible Minifigures Mafia 1 and a "trans tree" who was called Paris.

Done know if Bruce here is a maple but the style looks similar and the Paris tree then was scum.

But have to read up more.

Vote: Bruce Spruce (Tamamono)

For reasons pointed out earlier that haven't been answered to my satisfaction. I'm still not comfortable with Bruce's explanation for his quick maple read on William. There's a callousness to his approach with Alistair highlighted here:

If it's wrong, oh well - we get a clue as to what the deal with Hazel and Catarina is as well as good reads from this very split vote tally. This is an optimal first day lynch, in my opinion.

I understand that it's hard to catch maples on Day 1, but it doesn't mean we need to stick with our first reads. I think Bruce is trying to take advantage of the situation to his effect. I think he's also lost a bit of attention to how others are responding, and has a bit of tunnel vision going. For example, IMO, Hazel has actually turned around a bit in terms of his/her comments. Maybe there's some coaching going on but I'm not ready to case a vote that direction. I'm not sure that lynching Alistair tells us as much about Hazel or Catarina at this point as it does about Bruce, but it seems to me that Bruce is the one trying to manipulate things.

2 votes missing; I'm a big fan of the "we need a lynch on day 1" strategy so ... let's go!

I understand your need to pursue the person you feel is more suspicious but let's face it, a no lynch does not advance the situation as much as a lynch would regardless of the outcome. At this point, a vote for Agnes, Berty, Hazel, Catarina or Chester is a lost vote.

Just a thought ...

Agreed. There are other days to consider the others. So I will change mine.
