nice truck. Steering looks a bit "how's yer father" but that's just begging for a little mod.

Nice simpler selection of colours as well.

The detail in the offside driver mirrors is quite nifty too!

hahaha! wonder why the guy giving the demonstration so so clumsy with the pneumatics? they even edited the clip its like hes never played with it

This set is about as close to perfect as we will probably ever see from LEGO. Looks great, and the new clyinders will be very handy.

I do wish the stabilizers weren't manual and that the front suspension was fully articulated, but otherwise, it's pretty fantastic.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Even though some guys still find a "Flaw" ! Hopefully we get a better video today.

I'm curious how the 'tip' of the boom is constructed, it looks a bit odd. Several new pieces involved? This looks like an impressive set, a worthy successor to 8110. The cab is quite ugly though, but that has been pointed out already.

as for the piece count, quoted from brickfan website

LEGO TECHNIC

Fire Plane (42040) – £44.99, 578 pieces – Red and white sea plane.

The single propeller turns as it’s pushed along a flat surface. Also comes with trans-blue 2×2 round bricks that can be dropped from the bottom of the plane.

Crawler Crane (42042) – £109.99, 1401 pieces – A blue motorized crane. The boom of the crane is about 3 feet long.

Mercedes Benz Arocs 3245 (42043) – £169.99, 2793 pieces – Available late 2015. Includes power functions and pneumatics. The alternative model is a flatbed truck.

Anyone seen a picture of the flatbed truck yet?

With this part selection, I would have hoped for a hooklift. Oh man that won't get off my mind -.-

IMO, the tyres look too small, compared to the whole vehicle. Great Parts Set. Let's see the truck live at Friday ;)

Maybe i can put my fingers on the truck to test it.

On the crane there are thin yellow 1x5 liftarms (ooooo) but on the box liftarms are black and different (xooox) :sceptic: I hope it will be black when I open my set

On the displayed model, it is 1x6 thin liftarms in yellow, not 1x5.

Why does everyone hate the cabin? I think it looks fantastic and can't find much wrong with it at all.

OK so how do You think is the displayed model not the production version- I was little surprised about that crane color mixed with yellow pieces?

Looking back the past years, the model shown in Nuremberg is usually not the the finished model. Detail changes will happen until the release. I think, this thin liftarm is a prime example for that. I guess what we see on the box will be most likely the finished version.

Yep, outriggers moves too fast though

I find the position of the outriggers a bigger issue than their speed. In my opinion they should be located much closer near the crane, preferably between the two front axles like the 8258. I can understand that this was difficult to do with the front suspension and complexity of the crane, but the current solution is not very realistic in an otherwise very realistic truck.

Might be interesting to investigate the feasibility to MOD this feature.

Nevertheless, I'm very impressed with the truck. Looks like the Lego Genie has granted all our wishes.

This will be the best, most awesome LEGO Technic set EVER! I love it, also I fell in love with the Crawler Crane and the Fire Plane, although I'd hoped to see the Fire Plane a bit closer. Every 2H 2015 LEGO Technic set looks AWESOME and full of functions and details, now it's saving time - so many great LEGO sets coming this year (also curious to see the LEGO Creator Expert Ferrari F40, must buy for me since I own the Mini Cooper and VW T1 Camper :) )

Here are some pictures from the Mercedes Benc Arocs 3245

If you read this LEGO, AMAZING JOB!!!

I wonder the same but u will always get moaners on every forum. Look at it it's so nice and real life looking.

Is that a new joint on the last picture? Between first and second pair of wheels?

Cabin looks "ugly" because it consists of lots of small liftarms in places where one could use one piece instead of 3 or 4. I can't see the point of such decision, if the doors are not operable. And I really see no point in 2 extra white fins on the front, they just don't fit, like the front lights mounting. Thus the "messy" look.

But overall it's great! I like the little yellow stopper thingie that you put under the wheels.

The extra "fins" are for authenticity. The real one has them, too.

I know, but the scale in the lego version is a bit off. The distance between them and the cabin is way to big. I won't mount them when I get my set. 2 extra fins HEY!

Arocs is "available late 2015", which probably means october or november (before black friday).

And crane is over 100 ponds (140euro) which in a way makes it "summer" flagship.

Wait will be really long this year.

Do you think, that doors open?I looks by some angles that this can be possible.

Wow, I'm blown away, this is so far beyond what I had ever dared to hope for! I was absolutely sure we wouldn't have suspension, so so happy to be proven wrong! I think this is the first flag ship set that I'd concider a must have for me since coming back to Technic.

Of course, the cabin could probably be built to look better using regular bricks, but they managed to make pretty damn decent while still maintaining the TECHNIC look of it!

I actually have more of a gripe with the front fenders (looks a bit messy with the blue and red and LBG pins and axles showing through) and the area between the 2nd and 3rd axle. I can see why they did it of course, but it doesn't look super good.

But NEW PNEUMATICS!  :wub:

I have recently been making a similar crane for my own white truck, and a longer cylinder is more or less a must to get that extra reach to properly fold/unfold it. Also; the long 1x1 cylinder is just brilliant! Will probably buy a LOT of the new pneumatic parts in addition to the set itself

Speaking of the crane on the truck; Do we know if it folds up completely? Given the (large) clamshell bucket, it might have to just "rest" on the bed when not in use... :look:

By looking at the pictures I am almost 100% sure that the doors can be opened!

I mean look at the last picture I posted, they can be opened it looks. :)

Those are meant to represent something called "cab edge vanes". They can be found on most European trucks and are aerodynamics aids to improve the airflow around the sharp edges of the truck cab. This should reduce the turbulence of the airflow, reducing drag and buffeting.
