There is a chance for something like this emerging soon, because the Nurnberg Toy show is still on.

It's part 14720 Technic, Liftarm 3 X 5 Perpendicular H-Shape Thick. I have several of them here.

Is that a thin 6L liftarm with pinholes on each end in yellow on the side of the crane boom?

Depends on the type of the gear. If it is bevel (and the images strongly suggest it is bevel) then it must be 60. Think of the regular 24t gear, the small turntable is basically the bevelled version of that (increasing diameter by 1/2), which means it has +4 teeth. In case of the new turntable that is 56+4=60,

Sorry but that sounds very non-sensical. Why would it being spur vs. bevel (double bevel) make a difference upon the number of teeth? The double bevel is there so that the gear can mesh either with a parallel OR perpendicular axis. You'd notice that, in the past, all lego gears were spur except for the weak crown gear. In recent years all newly introduced gears have a dual purpose and can mesh both parallel/perpendicular axes.

Again, let's wait for the actual set to come out or, better yet, more/sharper pictures.

There are two types of gear in technic, bevel and flat. Flat gears have an integral diameter (1,2,3,5,7 for the big turntable), bevel gears have a fractional diameter (3/2, 5/2, 7/2 for the small turnable, 9/2). The number of teeth is always the diameter multiplied by 8. The new turntable diameter will probably be 15/2, thus the number of teeth is 60.

Did you notice how the tires are aslope even though the truck sits on a support?

I noticed that, I guess the wheels are connected by an axle instead of a three pin hub, and the sheer weight of the model is a bit too much.

This one seems to be attached to base, for static demonstration - you can see couple of attachments on the bottom. So tire could be under some pressure and is just positioned in such a way.

Very pleased with this one. I will definitely be buying it. Pneumatics - check (yea! not going out!) And it appears there is a little of division among the Technic clan of liking the front cabin vs. hating it. Sign me up to the loving it side

I agree gio it would be nice to get a video of the model working properly. Let's just hope someone gets something good soon.
