Voxovan Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Say what you want, but Lego is leaving it's roots behind with these kind of sets. They are starting to look like Playmobile. You know Lego's been making action figures since like 1999? :/ Quote
Shakar Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Shakar, you quoted the wrong post. And I kinda feel that printed parts don't really count, as they are significantly less useful than plain ones. That's true, yeah. These aren't even that bad, though the brown lines (belts?) bother me. Still getting the set What does this even mean? Just some old, stubborn trolling, move along just make it through. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Jango looks terrible in that video. The sand blue blends in with the silver. Should have used blue shells in the same color as the blue on his helmet. Quote
Kalhiki Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I'm underwhelmed, though I did expect him to essentially be a Cody recolor. Sand blue is neat to see, but coming in such little amounts (by the looks of it) is disappointing. I think I'll save all my money for Grievous. Quote
GK733 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 What a wasted opportunity. The photo taken (can't link it but you'll find it from TTV's video) Sandblue shells printed useless, horrible weapons and pale back of the legs. Quote

ToaDraco Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Cody looks great though it's unfortunate the back of his legs are bare. Jango is decent though there isnt enough blue and i could have bet money that he would have a flick fire built into his jetpack. Grievous's toes still really bother me. There should be 2 in the front and 2 in the back, not 3 in the front and none in the back and is a tad bare on leg armoring but both are easy fixes. Other than that he looks amazing. For the constraction haters, gtho and quite your whining. Constraction has been around for 15 years and its here to stay. If you don't like it, stay in the system forums! Anyway, there are some great recolors and I look forward to seeing the new molds used creatively in Bionicle. Edited April 18, 2015 by ToaDraco Quote
Dorek Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wouldn't say I'm super enthused about Jango, but I actually like solid silver more than I probably should. File him under a maybe. Quote
Aanchir Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 The shells are PRINTED!? You guys DO know that printing can be removed, right? I mean, I probably wouldn't do that, but if you're THAT bothered by it it's pure simplicity. It kind of astonishes me how polarizing the print vs. sticker issue has been within the constraction community this year. Quote
Voxovan Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 To all those people complaining about Jango's lack of sand blue - it's not like he had that much blue in the movie anyway... Quote
Mesonak Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Plus, from the looks of things, only Jango's upper leg armor is printed. His upper arm armor is without printing. So it's the best of both worlds! Mediocre set (by SW standards, they're all pretty great), top-tier recolors. Quote
Nekchir Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 So...Is this pretty much the end of the Star Wars contraction discussion? I mean until September, anyways. Quote
Mesonak Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Good point; usually we speculate about back armor or internal construction or w/e but we've got 360 degree views of most of the sets... I'm sure we can find some other stuff to talk about though, right guys??? Quote

GK733 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 If there is something that makes these less creative it's the amount of print. On some parts it's just disgusting and gives a very flat feel and is an easy way out. Most of the torso shells are bloody useless due to this. Obi, Cody and especially Luke and Jango share this problem. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything if I skip Jango who's new parts are possibly in the new Bionicle sets, Luke is miserable, not sure about Cody. Vader offers a nice build and looks but not that much of new parts so it's a skip. It's Obi and Grievious here please. I really hope the 2016 Bionicle-sets are not using that torso shell and the rumors about the one with a belt turn out to be true. Quote

just2good Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 I really like the sand blue on Jango, don't care for much else of the constraction figure for him. Planning on getting Vader... Quote
Mandate Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Yuck. I'm only getting Obi Wan and Grievous now. I never liked Vader, and Jango ruins Cody and what little respect I had for Luke by being a clone build of them with some minor differences (such as Luke's upper arm being one pinhole shorter). Jango and Cody being clone builds makes a lot of sense, really, but when every other $20 set features the same basic build that novelty is lost. Quote
Nekchir Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Cody, Jango, and Anakin seem like $15 sets to me, rather than 20. They don't have any complex builds unlike the Toa at the same pricepoint. Oh well. I'm rich so I can afford to get all of 'em, which I am, except for Anakin of course. Quote

TheGreatSpirit Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I thought Cody and Jango were $15, Luke and Obi were $20, Vader was $30 and Grievous was $35. Am I wrong here? Quote
Leewan Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 According to BZP's Toy Fair report, Jango, Cody and Luke will cost 19,99$, Obi-Wan will cost 24,99$, Vader 29,99$ and Grievous 34,99$ (for the US). Which will respectively translate to 19,99€, 24,99€, 29,99€ and 34,99€ for European countries. Quote

Licensing costs always have to make the blows to my wallet even bigger huh That aside, Vader, Grievous, Obi, and Rex are all must-haves for me. Luke is pretty good as well. The only one I don't really like that much is Jango. Compared to the rest he's really mediocre. I'd probably get him anyways if I have extra money after buying the rest of the Star Wars constraction figures and a few skull villains. Quote
Kingriedak Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 We do have System themes here too including Mixels, no need to refer to "system fans" as an enemy faction or something. a decade of them telling me my favourite themes are garbage has made me extremely bitter to them. anyway, i have this nagging fear that this is going to be the only constraction line for SW for quite some time, but we'll only know when these sets get done selling Quote
