The more I look at these, the more impressive they are to me, and seeing the real figures just cements that. Grievous and Vader are day one purchases for me for sure (though I question Vader's classification as "titan", he doesn't look that much bigger than Luke, just much more filled out. Which is actually a good thing).

Vader may not be too much larger than Luke, but Luke is actually pretty big himself, all things considered. Note that he uses 9M beams for his lower legs, rather than 7M beams like most of the other $20 figures like Cody and Jango. All in all, Luke stands around 32 modules tall, taller than many Bionicle G1 titans, and Vader seems to stand about 36 modules tall — taller than a Toa Kaita, and nearly as tall as Brutaka!

Never understood people who buy Lego sets (or anything for that matter) just to sit on it and sell it off like it's an investment. It's a toy that's meant to be built, played with, broken down and used, etc. When I get these sets, I will be cracking them open and building them (probably impatiently one after the other).

Financial security. I don't plan on collecting Lego sets for the rest of of my life, so I decided to amass things I think that'll sell for an extreme amount of money 30, 40, 50, years down the line.

That... plus the fact that Lego is an expensive hobby. Even for Lego fans who have no intention of ever letting go of their collections, buying an extra set here and there to sell years down the line can help to offset the cost of future purchases.

Of course, no telling whether or not these constraction sets will accumulate in value the way other Star Wars sets tend to.

*huh* I never actually realised that! Somehow it makes Luke a little more tempting as a parts pack since 9M beams are somewhat uncommon and I find them useful for all sorts of titan builds. My only worry is Luke (and I think Obi-Wan as well since in the picture he definitely looks taller than Cody and Jango) looking oddly taller than Cody and Jango, but that's something I can't make a final opinion on until I have all the sets in hand and have looked up each character's canon height.

My wallet is crying.

So is mine [especially if we have the one dollar equals one pound conversion here in the UK but I have hope due to Tahu and the Stormtrooper having similar parts count and the RRP is the same in $ so it might equate to fifteen quid not twenty, same with Vader and MM v SG, he might be twenty five quid as the RRP in $ is thirty for both of those sets.]

Stormtroopper looks like a 25$ for me, looks as solid as Obi and has a large weapon piece.with lot of system going on. depends on what 2016 bonkle brings if I need him.

Here's my guess at likely UK price points, note that these are probable guesses based on current sets with the same USD value as the figures:

Luke, Cody, Jango: either £14.99, £17.99 or £19.99

Obi-Wan: either £19.99 or £24.99

Vader: either £24.99 or £29.99

Grievous: either £29.99 or £34.99

While I can see most of the sets being set at their lower price points, I'm afraid I see Grievous being a straight USD/GBP conversion at £34.99, given the last comparable set, Queen Beast, did exactly this.

So in summary, the best case scenario is that the sets in total will cost £119.94. Worst case scenario, they'll cost £149.94. Let's hope for something closer to the former eh?

Believe me, my wallet's crying as well at the prospect of these figures, especialy when I want doubles for all the useful parts :cry_sad:

Got the catalog and this is much worse than I thought.

Luke, Jango and Cody: 24,95€

Obi: 29,95€

Vader: 34,95€

Grievious: 39,95€

For comparison, Protectors 9,95€, mid toa 16,95 and large toa 24,95. Ekimu vs Kulta 34,95

(Many retailers sell them for much less though)

That's the cost of Star Wars license here in FInland. I really, really hate it.

Actually, it doesn't look like the Star Wars license has anything to do with it. Vader is priced the same as Mask Maker vs. Skull Grinder, and Luke, Cody, and Jango are priced the same as the larger Toa, just like they are in the United States.

Sets in general seem to cost more in Scandinavia than in most of Europe. It's really weird, especially since LEGO is based in a Scandinavian country. But the actual Danish prices generally aren't too great either!

Really sucks for you guys, sorry. But at least this might imply that us folks living in the rest of Europe are getting a 1:1 conversion, since Ekimu vs Kulta is 29,99 Euro in Italy and the other European countries.

I'm currently watching the Empire Strikes Back because I fancied it, and I'm questioning TLGs choice of making the Return of the Jedi Luke not tESB Luke.

tESB Luke would be much nicer parts wise- he'd probably have a pair of flesh hands and flesh forearms (his sleeves are rolled up) and his colour scheme would be dark tan. That means he'd have a massive appeal to those who don't care for the figure or the license as a great parts pack in comparison to a black Luke, not to mention it's from what's surely considered the most iconic scene from the entire franchise where Vader tells him "No...I am your father," [spoiler! XD] . That would make it an even better seller surely?

Guess It's the cape and those technic plates that makes Obi so expensive. Can we expect to him have back armor like Stormtroopper? Or will it look just as bad as Vader?

Wait when did we see the back of Vader???

Talking of Vader, I've been looking back at the main first image (and gosh he's ridiculously sized he looks over bulked)

and I'm thinking he could've done with maybe having the fabric around the legs as seen well here-

Ah right thanks.

Someone said I think that they didn't like Vader having a flat technic back-

"Vader's helmet was the center of the life-support system. It was fitted with an air pump, which was connected to a flat filter system worn on Vader's back. "

That sortof provides some form of explanation that might make it a more acceptable part of the design...

Ugh, just realized these sets are coming out in another month. There's so many games coming out at the same time that I'll only be able to get like, 2-3 of these guys instead of every single one like I originally planned.

I would be excited, but, well I have a feeling it'll be a few weeks yet until anything comes near the US.

Cool!

Please only make a post if you have something to contribute to the discussion.

Indeed, they were !

I hope you'll have some photos up soon, really intrigued about the new pieces. Could you show Gali wearing those silver kneeguards?
