I wish they made the printed chest pieces larger. They are too small for the $20 Bionicle sets too.

...the torso they are using on SW-figures is the size of the one used by Fire Lord, it's the complete opposite to what you just said.

I think he means the torso shell which is printed, not the torso skeleton.

I was pointing at that but should have stated my point differently.

Because if he thinks it's too small he mistook the size of the torso too, the SW torso shell is designed for this larger torso size only, it wouldn't even fit the regular one used by the toa. The shoulder balljoints would collide with the torso shell because the gap intended for them is higher on the shell.

Ah okay my bad.

But that means that torso shell isn't as versatile as the other variant of torso shells. Kind of a bummer.

Well they aren't really very versatile anyway, unless one is building Star Wars themed models. The printing and shaping wouldn't really work with neither Bionicle or Hero Factory.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, to be honest. I guess I can agree that in most cases the printing wouldn't be a good fit for Bionicle or Hero Factory, but the shaping is pretty generic. If we got a pirate-themed Bionicle wave like I've been contemplating lately, I think this torso shell could potentially work quite well for one of the villains.

And of course, never discount the potential for MOCs that don't fit neatly into any established universe, like this, this, or this. There's really not a lot about the printing on these torso shells that singles them out as Star Wars parts — it's not like any of them are emblazoned with a Rebel Alliance or Galactic Empire insignia, or with the name of the character who wears them. So while I don't for a minute expect to see these prints in non-SW sets, they could be reused in non-SW MOCs just as easily as Star Wars minifigure torsos.

Sadly no sightings of these in the UK yet - had a look in TRU on Sunday but found nothing (I was hoping to find some of them there because, well, it's my birthday this week  ). I can't even find any information on UK prices for these sets anywhere, even my friend who tends to know more about upcoming releases than most of us doesn't know. What kills me is that we already know the GBP prices of the TFA sets being released in the same month, and those are supposed to be on a much stricter embargo than these...

Also, is it possible that these Constraction figures could be released on 1st September, or are they being released on Force Friday (4th September) despite them not having any ties to TFA? For some reason I'm hoping to find them early, because trying to fight through the inevitable crowds to get them at the LEGO Store on Force Friday will be like suicide for me :look:

i guess, but then again, there are people out there who could put galidor pieces to a good use, so i guess it's just a matter of time before someone prove us wrong.

So given the sets have been released in certain locations, anyone have the instructions for Vader's body. Interested in seeing how much technic is actually included and how he's made.

I mean the outer most printed chest plate. On the larger sets it looks silly.

The chestplate is only made of one piece.

Say what type of connections does the lightsaber hilt piece have. I know one end is an axle but is the other a pin sized hole or a bar sized hole?

As I said already when posting about Luke, the lightsaber hilt is pretty much this piece with more details all around.

Oh, and, here is jango's build

That's good to know. It means they can be stacked to create a really cool staff handle.

Also could you show us what Jango would look like with the 6m sand blue shells swapped out for the 5m mata blue shells.

Hah! Jango has a flick missile, didn't expect that!

I wonder why they chose to use that part on the upper leg in brown when light grey ones appear in the set? they use them as holsters that were indeed brown but I would've expected them to save cost by having all of that part in the same colour regardless. It's a nice attention to detail and effort though so I'm not complaining.

I don't like that gap in the middle of his back between the jetpack and the torso frame though... :look:

I wonder what he'll look like in normal blue (I'm not sure Takanuinuva if that's want you meant by mata blue or not) as although what Lego has done is accurate, having the same blue as the helmet would make him more visually striking I think and might make him work better by having a consistent shade throughout as has been done on previous toys collectibles ()

Yes, that's a nice surprise. Cody is still my favourite of the bunch, though.

Congratulations!

Also, are you making a live-construction video?

In fact. I like your live-construction videos, in which you build, so please keep the job. Shaddow!

AWESOME. Can you take a picture of what the arms looks like attached together?

Why, yes I can ! here are some pictures I took. Please forgive the bad quality, it's all done using electric lights.

Congratulations!

Now I wish Grievous came with a cape... Anyways, thanks for the pics, looking forward to see the video. Will Vader and Kenobi follow ?

Sadly no, I'm a little tight on money right now and I've gone out of my way quite a bit to get it even if it was under the official price (~33€). Concerning the cape, it would have been cool, but I feel like it should have been bicolor, like in the movies, and I'm pretty sure we've never seen bicolor capes this big (or at all ?)

I wonder if one could take the cape from the old Technic Vader and it would work for Grevious. It wouldn't be the right color but it would be a start.

On another note. Does Grevious have more of the smallest bone in grey or are there only the 2 on the lower shoulders
