GK733 Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 So now that I've built him. He's a marvelous set and much larger out of the box that any pictures i've seen make him look like. The gaps on his torso don't bother me too now I see it in hand but the three empty balljoints in his back stick kinda badly, not too badly but still. For 35$ he's nearly there but not quite and makes me even more stoked for Umarak the Destroyer. I like Grievious a little more than I expected and might buy Vader as well. Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 So... it's gone past midnight on Friday 4th, and absolutely no sign of the Battle Figures on S@H where I live. Weren't they supposed to be released at 12:01am, or was that only stores that were opening at midnight? Seriously, how much of an ask is it to know the UK prices before I go to bed? I guess there might be a risk of my wallet fainting in-store tomorrow morning, or worse - they're not there Quote

Systems sets are available too, though the pictures for those are missing... Yeah, for some reason they're not appearing when you browse through the Star Wars or new categories, BUT I just noticed Cody in the Recommended for You list. But when I went to click on it, it said "product not available". Same with Jango, which also appeared in the recommended list. I can't get any of the others to appear at all. What joke is this LEGO? Only UK S@H could turn Force Friday into more of a Farce Friday... On the upside, Cody and Jango (and presumably Luke too) is only £14.99 in the UK. EDIT: Oh, just got Obi-Wan Kenobi to appear in the Recommended section. £5 cape premium (he's £19.99) Edited September 4, 2015 by TheOneVeyronian Quote
Logan McOwen Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I see no CCBS. This is annoying. Quote

TheOneVeyronian Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) I see no CCBS. This is annoying. See my post above yours . I've seen some of them on the UK S@H (Obi, Jango and Cody), but they're frustratingly unorderable and their page links return a "Product not Available" page. EDIT: And here's the proof to prove I'm not just seeing things either EDIT 2: After a quick Google search, they are available at some other online retailers in the UK, such as John Lewis. According to John Lewis, Darth Vader is £24.99 (complete with incorrect spelling of "Vader") and Grievous is £29.99. Though for some reason they list Luke as being £19.99. My lower estimates all proved to be correct though, some good news for my wallet Edited September 4, 2015 by TheOneVeyronian Quote
Logan McOwen Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Still no sign of them on Lego's site or Amazon. This is really silly. It's time. Edited September 4, 2015 by LewiMOC Quote

mysteriouspi Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'm really happy the Battle Figures aren't overpriced for you European folks. Happy buying! I myself will be making a trip to a LEGO Store this afternoon in the hopes of finding Grievous. If I can't get him, perhaps Vader or Jango... Quote
TheOneVeyronian Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Right, back from a surprisingly quiet Watford LEGO Store with all the Star Wars Battle Figures! Unfortunately, John Lewis' price on Luke wasn't a mistake. Luke really IS £19.99 here Confirmed at a LEGO Store and The Entertainer. But I must ask - why on earth is Luke £20 when Cody and Jango, with the same size of box, are only £15!? At least Obi-Wan has a slightly deeper box to try and justify it's £20 price point, but for Luke, well, I'm really struggling to think of why it's more expensive. Especially when, in other countries, I'm sure Luke is the same price as Cody and Jango. I don't know what on earth the guys at LEGO that make the price point decisions were thinking when they decided to price Luke up here. All I can think is it's to stop Obi-Wan being so lonely at that price, but really that's a bad excuse No wonder the shelf at Watford was full of Lukes though while the other 5 were selling pretty well! EDIT: at least the Battle Figures are on the UK S@H now. And seriously, I am not lying about Luke's price Edited September 4, 2015 by TheOneVeyronian Quote
Shakar Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) ...why is UK Luke the price of Obi Wan is beyond me. Things over here are thankfully a 1:1 conversion, and Luke is 20 Euro like Cody and Jango. He's not on Obi Wan's level, he's just a module taller than Jango and I believe Cody too. Anyway, yeah, they're available. Cool. And the prices are fair. Even better. I guess we'll see them in stores here starting from this/next week, like the Skull Army sets. Some shopping awaits me. VBBN Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 And all of the reviews are done! 75107 Jango Fett 75108 Clone Commander Cody 75109 Obi-Wan Kenobi 75110 Luke Skywalker 75111 Darth Vader 75112 General Grievous Ran into some serious technical issues this time around and I completed these in about 4 days, but here they are! As always a massive thank you to Lego for providing us with this exclusive opportunity to review these sets, and I really do like these sets, moreso than the previous wave of superhero sets. Hopefully everyone is liking that I've started using Tahu as the "control group" fro size comparisons, he seemed like a figure most people would (and should) have. Quote
The_Fiery_Rooster Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Should I buy Darth Vader or General Grievous? I want to get one or the other, so, which one do I get? Quote
DraikNova Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 If you like CCBS, General Grievous. If you prefer Technic, go for Vader. Personally, I prefer Grievous. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 (edited) Picked up Grevious and Darth today. Haven't built them yet. I'm going to try adding a gearbox to Vader when I get back to my parts on Monday. Though. I can try working on one in LDD now that I have his instructions. Though they are a bit pricey here in Canada. Vader is 40$ rounded up and Grevious is 45$ rounded up. Glad I stopped getting every CCBS set in 2013. Edit: Now I've built them. Grevious is amazing for his size. And Vader's technic body is glorious. I may just be able to add a gearbox. Edited September 5, 2015 by Takanuinuva Quote
TFGuy89 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I thought you guys might find this new promo by LEGO interesting: Quote
DuckBricks Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Went to Target today and found all except Vader, which was disappointing. Picked up Greivous, though. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) Managed to make a custom gearbox for Vader in LDD. Here is the LXF if anyone wants to try it IRL. (BTW the black 3L axle is meant to represent this piece since its not in LDD) http://alpha.brickli...lor=11#T=C&C=11 LXF: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/takanuinuva/mc/vader_torso_geared.lxf Edited September 5, 2015 by Takanuinuva Quote
DOTM Shockwave Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 After my shift was over, I went and bought myself Cody. I would have bought Jango Fett as well, but funding issues... Pic of some mods I did for my figure. Quote
dviddy Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 If you like CCBS, General Grievous. If you prefer Technic, go for Vader. Personally, I prefer Grievous. Same. I've had Vader sitting around for about a week now, and I just really don't like him. Spoilers for my BZP review, I guess. Quote
Mandate Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Vader has looked far too bulky and angular to me since I first saw him, and I don't know why so many people like him. Still struggling to understand why they went with gunmetal for his upper armor when it's actually silver. Quote
NNOPMOC Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 FYI, for UK buyers. Cheapest prices I've found are at ASDA online. Tesco's still not listing any new sets despite having a new TFA Lego banner on the "Lego & Construction Toys" front page on Tesco Direct. I posted this info on the SW thread yesterday morning but forgot to post it here as well. Sorry if you've already bought your sets from other outlets. ASDA are £10 cheaper for the MF and £2-£3 cheaper on some constraction sets. I picked up Grevious and Obi Wan from MK Lego Store yesterday afternoon (and got another free Admiral Yulan). I'm waiting ot see if the constraction sets getlisted on Tesco Direct and whether they are in the Clubcard Boost deal (£5 clubcard vouchers = £10 to spend on selected items) as almost all their SW Lego sets are already in this deal at the moment.
