Lyichir Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Soooo I may be dumb but are these just limited edition or what? Not really? There's a co-pack of Luke and Vader that's exclusive to Toys R Us, but other than that these are regularly available. Quote

Ah, okay thanks. I don't follow this topic, just making sure I haven't missed out on Grievous or anything lol. Quote
Dorek Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 I caved and got Vader and Greivous. You'll probably see my thoughts on Vader in review form, but overall he's okay. I liked the torso construction, since it's super dense and well layered, but the gangly limbs tend to work against it (and the armor tends to clash, especially around the shoulders). Greivous, however, is just plain fantastic. Perhaps a little under-armored, but a real joy to build, and with a final result that looks good and is fun to play with. This is the kind of titan I hope we get in BIONICLE. Quote

Yes, but the main problem with Grievous is the posability. The weight of the torso make Grievous can be tricky to pose well and can be easy to fall down. 2003 Makuta from Bionicle G1 also suffer for the same problem. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Also, seeing as functionality is a big thing with G2, a large figure like that could prove to be hard to mobilise. I suppose a torso which pivots at the waist using gears could work, a la the Evo XL machine. Quote

What is the point behind co-packs anyway? Are they a Toys R Us thing where they throw a bunch of sets together in a giftset? I've only ever seen a City one (pretty sure it was 66523) in person. Quote
Logan McOwen Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 (edited) I believe they're at a lower price than the sets bought together seperately. Also, the Vader and Luke pack includes bonus goodies. Edited October 8, 2015 by Logan McOwen Quote

DraikNova Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Just managed to find Grievous. At $30, no less. I think his popularity has a lot to do with a nostalgia factor, but a different one than normal SW sets, in that he's large enough that he's proportionally the same size as action figures people may have owned when they were little kids. Lord-Vorahk Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I keep seeing these guys and getting really tempted, but I think I should probably hold off and save my money for BL. Bonkles and Clone Army need my funds first. May pick up Grievous, though. Just wondering how many people have modified Cody's back armour without realising that it's meant to be a repulsorlift backpack? Quote
Shakar Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) If you manage to get one, definitely get Grievous. He fills all criteria for a great set: good parts pack (shells, 4 lightsabers, bones, and some decent Technic stuff), insipiring build techniques and impressive as a display model (also very sturdy and poseable, so playing with him is fun too). So, whichever the reason you buy him for is, you won't regret it. Edited April 21, 2016 by Shakar Quote
BubbaFit45531 Posted June 3, 2017 Posted June 3, 2017 I bought the last Cody on the shelf and built it. Seems like the box had the code letter for Mexico and the baggie with the head may have had the code for China. I thought the head was dual-molded, but seems like pre-assembled two different colored pieces. Most of these look nice, except Luke seems too skinny. Are these still easily found in stores? Toys R Us had a bunch of Luke and one each of Obi and Cody. Walmart seems to only have 2017 and a few 2016 kits. Target had one Darth. Quote
