Moz Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 We do seem to be getting some excellent B models. Maybe TLG have worked out that the collectors will buy two copies if the B model is good? Quote
paul_delahaye Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 That B model is very good, roll on August Quote
Tomik Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Alternative model looks good but I would prefer something more original (different) like helicopter or boat. This one is just another plane... Quote
jfbat Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Well, I went to pick up the Arcos today and look what also seems to have fallen into my bag! It was a very fun build and has quite a lot of play-functions too. Working flaps, prop, engine, waterdrop. You get a lot for what you pay for it. Quote
P3_Super_Bee Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Was a pretty good build. Liked how the "tank" works. Rudder moves, but it is not mechanically connected to the control stick, only the ailerons, and elevators are. Flaps are immobile. Prop is connected to the wheels, so when you roll it, the prop spins. Overall a pretty good model for the price. Picked mine up last weekend at TRU. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Cute litttle model! I will pick one up in the next few weeks. Quote

jfbat Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Nah, doesn't appeal to me aesthetically. I like this one a lot, so it'll stay this way. I'm in the middle of something bigger at the moment, anyway... Quote
Richard Dower Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 (edited) a couple more new reviews: Edited August 2, 2015 by Richard Dower Quote
Kaanere Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) I predict it will be less than a month before someone claims they can make it fly by motorizing it! Someone already did it: Edited August 3, 2015 by Kaanere Quote
Boulderer Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Someone already did it: To be fair, that video doesn't claim that it flies Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Buildinginstructions are available online.. So i did an quick LDD version (with some missing and alternative parts..) I got to say this is a real beauty. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Very nice render JunkstyleGio  Quote
plethorabricks Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 This set is a real winner - adults can easily recognize it, kids think it looks like Disney's Dusty Crophopper, and it actually performs its intended purpose (dumps "water"). It is a substantial size in the hands, without being too big or taking too long to build. It contains newer parts, it looks just as good with or without stickers, and the B-model is both interesting and functional. My only gripe is that it can be difficult to take smallest pins out of the new triangular pieces, you may need the edge of a knife to push in the slit behind it to pop those out. Quote
Richard Dower Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 WOO HOO!....i just treated myself to a lazy Monday bank holiday treat!....just picked up this beauty, now i must decide if i wish to build the A or B....... (first world problems) Quote
Lakop Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Just bought this set this week, my only set of the year. I was never a fan of lego planes for the simple reason you can't make them fly, but having bought 9394 last year I was impressed. What I like about them the most is the controls. 42040 is a good set, it's fun, looks good and provides some new parts for the collection. The white panels and parts are nice too. i'm glad I got it. LucyCol Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 Received this set as a Christmas present, a good fun build, and a lot for your money, question is, do I now go and buy one for myself to do the 'B' model Quote
mzoli Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 LDD files are available for A and B models here Quote
syclone Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Really good set, received one as a gift .Haven't applied the stickers, now lot of panels waiting to be used. Quote
Immo Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Finally got this set, after wanting it since June '15. Not disappointed. The only con is the size of the otherwise awesome looking stickers - applying them obsessively-compulsively-perfectly took me probably half of the building process, but it was worth it. The plane looks, feels and works awesome, lots of functions and a huge size for the price. Actually it paid to wait as I got it new but discounted for 65% of MSRP (so it was 6 euro cents/piece) because the box was slightly damaged. Inside everything was 10/10, so it was a win. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 I have this set but am using it for MOC fodder at the moment, I am tempted to buy another one to build. Quote
Kmuffin Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 (edited) Hello guys I'm new to the forum but I have to say I got this set few days ago and I got to say it is so impressive for that price. Edited August 11, 2016 by Kmuffin Quote
