Richard Dower Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 ^ well said!....classic Red and White FTW! Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 I'd like to see silver come back, but otherwise, I don't think we need two shades of green or three shades of blue in the Technic line. Having all the different colors makes it a bit more difficult to build MOCs. Aside from the light blue and bright green colors, I'm happy with the variety of colors we currently have. Quote

I'd have to agree. It's kind of difficult if there is a wide variety of colors, but a narrow selection of parts in each color. Also, I think that the new fender parts in 42039 should have been black or white, or literally any other color other than bright green. It's really annoying when you get a new part that is in a wonky color. Quote
Emmi Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I think we can expect to see some good pictures of the Fireplane tomorrow. I was told by Promobricks that they've taken pictures of it as well as the other models and they are currently preparing an article on the 2H 2015 LEGO Technic sets. Quote
AndroTech Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Well, the plane is very nice, we get five of these new 5/3 panels, ... looks like the wheels on the bottom, runs the propeller to spin .... Edited February 3, 2015 by AndroTech Quote
Emmi Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Great plane. Looks very good and has some nice functions. On the box they forgot the stickers it seems :) Quote
captainmib Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Looks a lot like 42025. Same functions and building techniques. Nice small plane though. Are those black toggle joints on the window? And are they not connected? Seems a bit weird. Quote

To say it looks a lot like 42025 is a bit strange, it looks completely different - the only thing that's about the same is its functions. I'm interested to see how the water function works, so the storage and how to open it. What's this used for? Quote
zweihander Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Are those inline pin connectors at the sides of the engine silver? Also, are the rear side panels also the new 5/3 panels? They seem like it on the side thumbnail on the box. That means we are getting 7 of them. Quote
Emmi Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Is it just me or does this Fire Plane look a lot like Dusty in Planes 2 :) Quote
Technic-Kobaltz Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 The black toggle joints are mounting points so you can hang it up, well that's what are using them for. Do you think that's intentional? Quote

Thirdwigg Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I like it. The wheels turning the propeller is a little gimmicky, but I can look past that. Looks like a great set to MOD. Quote
DrJB Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I'm not sure I like the many white parts, in this plane, and the previous cargo plane. Granted it's not black/red/yellow. Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I presume, that the ball joint on the top would probably handle the mechanism to release the bricks of water :) Quote
Emmi Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) I presume, that the ball joint on the top would probably handle the mechanism to release the bricks of water :) I think that's probably it. Damn, TLG really makes my wallet empty this year - all 3 Technic summer sets are simply amazing! I will get all of them (the first time I do this). Great job LEGO! In addition to the Technic sets I'll have to buy the Creator Expert Ferrari F40 (exclusive) and the Kwik-E-Mart. Expensive year :) Edited February 3, 2015 by Emmi Quote
nerdsforprez Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 i would love to see some type of pitch tho the propellors. Enough people have clamored.... I wish TLG would have listened. If Efferman is out there... is there anyway to produce a similar-like prop, but with a pitch? Or is there something like that already out there? Quote

I have used differentials for a variable pitch mechanism, and a few others have used a swash plate type setup. Edited February 3, 2015 by dhc6twinotter Quote
zux Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Well, that's quite a nice plane. I see this part appears in white now. Quote
Cumulonimbus Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Well, that's quite a nice plane. I see this part appears in white now. Where? I only see it in light grey on top of the tail and on the support structure of the floats. Quote
zux Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Where? I only see it in light grey on top of the tail and on the support structure of the floats. Where? I only see LBG ... I've checked the image on the box, which has different lighting and indeed it might be LBG... false alarm Quote
98267a Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 It appears on the box that it has a working rudder!!! Quote
Blakbird Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I predict it will be less than a month before someone claims they can make it fly by motorizing it! Quote
